Taylor Swift concert is a sea of sequins, feather boas and cowboy hats as fans don their most colourful outfits in excitement for sell-out Eras Tour

Taylor Swift start of the British leg of her sold-out Eras Tour Edinburgh tonight and her fans, who call themselves Swifties, are dressed for the occasion in sequins, feather boas, cowboy hats and friendship bracelets.

The Cruel Summer singer will perform in Edinburgh tonight, Saturday and Sunday before heading to Liverpool, Cardiff and Wembley – hot on the heels of the release of her critically acclaimed album The Tortured Poets Department.

Excitement is building as dedicated Swifties flood into Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium after queuing since 3am. As they do so, they brave the miserable Scottish weather.

In keeping with Eras Tour tradition, fans wear brightly colored, often homemade outfits, decorated with sequins, feathers and topped with cowboy hats.

They’ll also bring handmade beaded friendship bracelets to swap with other Swifties in the audience.

In true Scottish fashion, fans covered their sparkling outfits with waterproof jackets and resorted to wearing plastic bags over their shoes to stay dry.

Some Swifties pitched tents to set up a makeshift camp overnight outside the home of Scottish rugby.

At least twelve tents were set up close to the stadium gates as fans traveled from across the country to be among the first in line to see the Anti-Hero star.

Other Swifties have packed hotels in Edinburgh’s historic center after flying in from the furthest corners of the world, controversially forcing the city to house homeless people who presented themselves elsewhere.

A fan told MailOnline that Swift is rumored to be staying at the popular Balmoral Hotel. They claimed she booked out two entire floors after offering an entire wedding party £10,000 to move.

This morning the first few hardy souls began to gather at Roseburn Park to wait for the entrance gates to open at 3pm this afternoon.

First in the stadium tonight is Amber Small, 19, from Aberdeen, who was at the front of the VIP section.

She said: ‘I can’t wait. I got here at 3am to be the first in line. I didn’t go to bed last night because I was so excited.

‘It was quite cold and dark, but I’ve got my poncho on and I’m from North East Scotland, so I’m made of stern stuff.

‘I spent the night with my girlfriend’s aunt, who lives in Edinburgh, and quietly snuck out around 2am.

“Nothing would stop me from getting here early, she’s incredible, the best artist in the world. I’ve seen her twice, a few years ago in London and Glasgow.

“A few other fans came after me. We got to talking and we each marked our hands with a marker to indicate our place in line.

‘I’m happy to be number one! That feeling of being the first in the stadium this afternoon when the gates open at 3pm will be indescribable. And it’s only going to get better.’

While Swifties queued up, they were able to belt out their favorite hits thanks to local nightclub Boho, who set up a karaoke machine to entertain themselves.
