Earthquake News: Severe tremors shook Bihar and other north Indian states, including UP and Delhi NCR, on Friday. No casualties have been reported so far. The epicenter of the earthquake was in Nepal at a depth of 10 km, the NCS said. People in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) also felt strong tremors and rushed out of their homes. It is the third time in a month that Nepal has been hit by major earthquakes.
The quake with epicenter in the Lamidanda area of Jajarkot district occurred at 11:47 p.m., according to National Earthquake Measurement Center officials. A strong tremor was felt in Kathmandu and surrounding areas. Jajarkokt is located about 500 kilometers west of Kathmandu. People came out of their homes in Kathmandu as soon as they felt the quake.

The National Center for Seismology said the earthquake’s epicenter was in Nepal, about 227 km north of Ayodhya and 331 km west northwest of Kathmandu. The focal depth of the earthquake was 10 km, the NCS added.
“The tremors were felt for quite some time as we watched television and enjoyed the weekend,” said Inderjit Singh, a resident of Gurugram. Gopal, a resident of Ghaziabad, said the tremors were felt for more than 15 seconds. “I also heard the windows rattling.”
It is the third time in a month that Nepal has been hit by major earthquakes. The latest earthquake was also felt in parts of Noida and Greater Noida, bordering Delhi, forcing several people living in high-rise buildings to vacate their buildings.
“The vibrations felt very strong. The feeling was frightening,” said Pratyush Singh, a resident of a group housing society in Sector 76 Noida. People also took to social media to share videos of items such as fans and chandeliers moving due to the vibrations.
