“I recognize that package!” Adorable moment Kate Middleton bonds with little boy over Aston Villa as she visits children’s center in Nuneaton

This is the adorable moment Kate Middleton bonded with a little boy this afternoon over their shared love for Aston Villa.

The Princess of Wales, 41, visited the Riversley Park Children’s Center in Nuneaton today as part of her ongoing Early Years Development project.

During her tour of the property, a young football fan – proudly wearing his Aston Villa kit – caught the princess’s attention.

Prince William has supported the Birmingham club since his school days and has passed on his love for the team to Prince George, who is regularly seen with him at matches.

While walking through the reception of the children’s center today, Kate saw the cute blond boy – who is hard of hearing – playing with some toys on the floor.

Squatting beside him, the Princess of Wales – wearing a £490 leopard print silk turquoise dress from Samantha Cameron’s Cefinn brand – said: ‘Hello!’

The boy’s mother then said, “It’s almost like he was ready [to see] Villa!’

Kate turned to the little boy and then said, “I recognize that football kit! Do you support Aston Vila?’

“We are Villa,” his mother replied.

Kate stroked his shoulder gently and added, “I know this football kit. Are you watching all the players?’

His mother then used sign language to help her son understand what he was being asked.

She added, “You’re watching football with Dad, aren’t you?”

The young football fan nodded yes while looking at his mother. Kate then said to him, “Villa is doing well, isn’t it?”

After a challenging start to the season, Aston Villa finished seventh in the Premier League with their new manager Unai Emery.

As such, they have now qualified for the Europa Conference League.

Later in the day, the Princess of Wales sent royal fans into hysterics when she congratulated a baby who let a small farmer escape and told them: ‘Well done!’

The room erupted in laughter when the mother-of-three stopped what she was saying to poke fun at 10-week-old Raphael Pickering, who let out the tiny noise as he sat on his mother Brogan Goodwin’s lap.

At the moment she was interrupted by the sweet baby, the princess was discussing a £50,000 NHS project she has funded through the Royal Foundation for Early Years Development, which is trialling a new model to assess the well-being of babies.

Nuneaton health workers are part of the pioneering project, which uses indicators to understand babies’ happiness.

Prince William spoke to Gary Linekar in 2015 and revealed that he started supporting Aston Villa in a bid to differentiate himself from his schoolmates.

He explained: “Long ago in school I got into football a lot. All my friends were fans of Chelsea or Manchester United and I didn’t really want to follow the regular team.

“I wanted to have a team that was more mid-table and could give me more emotional roller coaster moments. Aston Villa has always had a great history.’

William gushed about his experience watching their games, adding, “It was the atmosphere, the camaraderie and I really felt there was something I could connect with.”
