Queen Margrethe and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark coordinate in pink

Queen Margrethe and Crown Princess of Mary coordinated this evening in stunning pink ensembles as they hosted a banquet for King Harald and Queen Sonja of Norway.

The European monarch, 83, was a refined figure in a floor-length, long-sleeved dress as she arrived at Amalienborg Castle in Copenhagen.

The white-and-pink dress had a thick fuchsia-colored belt that the queen – who used a cane – closed tightly around the waist.

The mother-of-two completed her elegant ensemble with a dainty crown, pearl necklace and white pointed heels.

Meanwhile, Crown Princess Mary’s pink dress hugged every inch of her curves, accentuating her slim figure.

The dress, from the high-end Italian brand Max Mara, was previously worn by the princess in 2017.

The standout ‘Gabriel’ dress shows off a flared silhouette, with a modern dropped waist punctuated by an all-over jacquard design.

The mother of two restyled the look with a mini rose gold clutch that matched the deep pink hue of her nails.

She chose two stone-encrusted bracelets to match the designs of her beautiful necklace and tiara.

She also wore a chunky gold bangle, while for her face she wore a neutral base alongside pink blush, eyes and lips.

Her sultry dark brown locks were parted on the side and held up away from her face.

Meanwhile, her son Frederik, 55, looked smart in a morning suit with his ceremonial medals on display.

He completed the look with a white bow tie and black leather lace-up shoes.

The royal couple were helped off the boat for the welcome ceremony, hosted by the Danish queen.

King Harald hobbled down the red carpet on crutches.

His wife followed them as they climbed a flight of stairs where white-uniformed sailors waited to the historic building where the royal guards waited.

King Harald fell to his knees just as he reached the last step, but was caught by one of the staff.

The king spent time in hospital in Oslo in May with an infection.

The king has relied on crutches for several years. The infection in May was the second time he had been hospitalized in six months.
