Serena Williamsdaughter Olympia couldn’t be happier with sister Adira in her life.
Williams, 42, shared how Olympia, 6, is adjusting to being a big sister at the CFDA Fashion Awards in New York City on Monday, November 6. “She navigates through it. She loves it,” said the tennis pro Entertainment tonight. “Adira is a little baby, so Olympia just calls her her sister.”
Olympia “prayed for a sister,” Williams – who shares her daughters with her husband Alexis Ohanian – flowed to the outlet. “She is happy with how everything turned out.”
Before Williams gave birth to Adira in August, she admitted, “I was worried. I thought, ‘Okay, I don’t know if I can like anyone as much as Olympia.’ I was really nervous about that. But I feel like it all worked out.”
A source was opened exclusively in August We weekly about how Williams and Ohanian, 40, adjusted to being a family of four. “Serena is happily at home and recovering,” the insider said. “Everyone is healthy and things are going very well.”
The source added: “Alexis is such a hands-on dad and so caring and supportive. He loves being around women and takes the role of girl daddy very seriously.”
Over the years, Ohanian has been outspoken about his fatherhood on his social media. From making pancake art and watching movies together to swimming and styling hair, Ohanian makes spending time with his daughters a priority.
Williams, meanwhile, has kept fans updated on her postpartum journey. In October, she shared via an Instagram photo that she started exercising a month after giving birth. “Olympia sees how I try to get my abs working again. Here comes fitness,” she captioned the post.
Although Williams made a smooth recovery from giving birth to Adira, she faced multiple complications after welcoming Olympia in September 2017, including undergoing an emergency C-section.
In a 2018 essay, she wrote for CNN, she opened up about the “life-threatening” experience. “I am so grateful that I had access to such an incredible medical team of doctors and nurses in a hospital with state-of-the-art equipment,” she wrote at the time, explaining that she had to undergo multiple surgeries for spot clots. “They knew exactly how to deal with this complicated turn of events. Without their professional care, I would not be here today.”
Williams and Ohanian tied the knot in 2017.
