Shubman Gill did not break into his usual centenary celebrations in Vizag; This is why!

Shubman Gill usually takes a bow after scoring a century to thank the crowd, but there was nothing of the sort on Sunday. Instead, it was a modest celebration from Gill after reaching the milestone.

Vizag: With England needing 332 to win, the second Test in Vizag is far from over. It took a lot of effort for India to set up a gigantic target. The young Indian cricketer reached his third Test century, ensuring India reached a total good enough to challenge England. Gill hit 104, but what surprised us all was that the young batsman didn't break into his usual century celebration. Normally he takes a bow after scoring a century to thank the crowd, but there was nothing of the sort on Sunday. Instead, it was a modest celebration from Gill after reaching the milestone.

“It felt good. I just thought the job wasn't done for the team. So that's why it was a bit of a milder celebration,” he said while speaking to the press after matchday.

Gill claimed it wasn't a wicket you can bat on high, and also revealed it was a decent wicket to bat on. He said to exert yourself and stay engaged the entire time, while the stranger turns around and stays low.

“I think so (he was pulled up by his father for that shot that got him out). I'll find out once I get back to the hotel, but I think so. He comes for most of my matches, there is no pressure like that. I think it's currently 70-30. The morning session will be crucial. We have seen that there is moisture in the morning and it helps fast bowlers and spinners,” Gill told stumps.
