Witney Carson and husband Carson McAllisterLeo's eldest son, Leo, was taken to hospital after accidentally hitting his head on concrete.
“We rushed to the hospital after the accident,” 30-year-old Carson wrote on Friday, February 16 via Instagram Story about the incident a day earlier. “Thank God he didn't faint or lose consciousness – so much tender mercy.”
Carson noted that doctors weren't concerned about “major trauma,” but took Leo, 2, for X-rays just to be sure.
“The doctors at the Nemours children's hospital are actually angels on earth. I made him feel so comfortable and safe and that we could be with him all the time,” said the Dancing with the stars pro added, noting that the scans “came back clear.”
Carson added: “We were so relieved. It's never easy to see your baby hurt and it was traumatic for all of us. I'm incredibly grateful that we left with nothing but bruises and bumps. I pray with all my heart for the parents who experience this kind of stress: it is the worst feeling in the world.”
Carson and McAllister, 30, have made sure Leo gets plenty of rest and “lots of love” as he recovers. On Friday, Leo looked “a lot better [sic]' and had only a few bruises on his face.
Carson and McAllister welcomed Leo in 2021 and his brother, Jett, followed in February 2023. The couple moved their family from their home state of Utah to Florida during Carson's second pregnancy.
“As difficult as this change may be, I know it is right for us right now,” she wrote via Instagram in March 2023. “I am filled with many emotions, but I am really looking forward to living this adventure with my little family. . I embrace the change, so here we go 2023!! I will continue to provide updates here, love you all.”
Carson, who announced her second pregnancy DWTS season 31, chose not to return the following year.
“We definitely thought and prayed about it for a while, but we're not going to do that Dancing with the stars this season. As much as it pains me to say it, I just felt very at peace with it,” she said in an August 2023 TikTok video. “You guys know that family is the most important thing to me, and we really felt like moving our entire family across the country now wasn't for us.”
She continued, “Leo is at an age where he needs consistency and reliability, and he hasn't had that since birth. We are really trying to give him that now.”
