Woman left terrified after discovering ‘creepy’ note from previous owner in her new thrift jacket – and people say they ‘could never wear it’

A woman was left terrified after she found a “creepy” note in the pocket of her thrift store with instructions on the previous owner’s funeral wishes.

In April 2021, Scott Murray, from North Carolina, went viral on Facebook after posting a photo of his partner JoAnn in her new jacket.

The bargain hunter was initially delighted with her bright red blazer, which had beautifully embroidered flowers on the lapel and pockets.

But it wasn’t until the couple got home that they found a message from the previous owner pinned to the inside.

Written on a piece of white paper, the message read, “Bury me in this red suit.”

Unfortunately for the previous owner, their family seemed to have accidentally overlooked one of their last wishes and donated the much-loved two-piece to charity.

Stunned by the discovery, Scott then posted a photo of the note to his Facebook page.

He wrote, “Thrift store JoAnn found this pretty red jacket and there was a note in his pocket.”

His recently surfaced post has garnered hundreds of likes, comments, and shares since it was first uploaded.

One social media user responded, “Oh, I hope she’s buried in something great.”

Another added, “Well, that really makes me sad.”

“So damn sad,” wrote a third. “However, her family probably never saw this.”

Others said the note would have deterred them from wearing the blazer.

The recently surfaced post garnered hundreds of ‘likes’ and shares — and some speculated it could all be a joke

“That’s so scary,” said a fifth. “I couldn’t bear it.”

However, others speculated that it could have been an elaborate prank on the jacket’s new owners.

One wrote: ‘Can you all go back and see if there are any more notes in different jackets?

“Maybe this was a joke… Grandma put on all her favorite coats and had this mail to mess with her kids anyway.”

Another added, “I’m going to put this in the pockets of all the clothes I donate.”
