A LUXURY fashion house has released a handbag that looks like a McDonald’s Happy Meal box – for £1,350.
The accessory, from Yves Saint Laurent, is made of calf leather with suede lining and covered with the iconic YSL logo.
The 7 by 8 inch “Take-away Box Bag” is available in two colors: dusty vintage brown gold or black.
Bronx rapper Cardi B ate sushi from one in the video for the new song Like What (Freestyle).
But social media users were quick to mock the new release.
One X/Twitter user wrote: “Don’t take the cardboard box.
“Even the black one gives Happy Meal.”
Another said: “Happy Meal YSL bag needs to go.”
French brand YSL was previously ridiculed for its £1,105 calfskin tote bag, which looked like a ‘paper deli bag’.
It comes after Spanish fashion house Balenciaga last month released three leather clutches that resembled giant packets of crisps.
With a hefty price tag of £1,350, the zip-lock bags come in three colour-coordinated variants: salt and vinegar, cheese and onion, and spicy chilli.
They are part of a range that includes a £2,490 calfskin bag – decorated with a pattern of strawberries, vegetables or bread – which is being compared for life to a £1.50 Morrison’s bag.
While Louis Vuitton was mocked for launching a £2,460 cowhide ‘Sandwich Bag’.
