Android owners can get their hands on a huge phone upgrade – music lovers will be excited about it

GOOGLE may be preparing a massive Android upgrade just for music lovers.

Experts have found a secret code in a test version of Android that suggests there will be a way to share audio between different Bluetooth devices later this year.

At the moment it is quite difficult to listen to music with your own headphones.

Apps like Spotify have their own built-in listening feature, but for everything else it's a bit fiddly.

Google, which runs Android, is expected to unveil its 15th version by the end of 2024.

While going through the latest beta for Android 14 QPR2, Android Authority noticed several mentions of audio sharing.

It talks about a new toggle for sharing audio, as well as a QR code button so others can connect to something playing nearby.

It uses a feature known as Auracast, which allows users to pair easily.

Every year Google introduces some big new features for Android.

It usually appears around fall.

Everything we know at this point is just rumors and based on leaked code, so take it with a grain of salt until it's officially announced.

One thing that could be coming back is lock screen widgets: they were mysteriously removed a decade ago.

There is also speculation about a private space to hide the private apps that you don't want anyone to know or see.

And for battery enthusiasts, it looks like you'll get more insight into how your energy is managed so you can maximize juice.

Auracast was announced a while ago, but not many devices currently support it.

However, it looks like this will change in the upcoming Android 15 update.

Especially since accessory makers are expected to add Auracast support in their headphones as well.

There is also no limit to the number of devices that can receive an Auracast broadcast.

So later this year you'll hopefully be able to share that podcast with multiple friends without having to play with the same headphones.
