Target's cake stand costs $25, my DIY makes an almost identical one for just $1

A DIY pro refused to pay $25 for a cake stand when he could make it himself with target purchases of $1.

They shared the cheap decor hack and revealed how it looked identical to the more expensive stand.

The expert (@happyhomeclearance) shared the video with their TikTok followers.

While at Target, they were inspired to create the project after seeing an etagère.

Although the $25 was a bit too high for them, they came up with their own money-saving alternative.

Grabbing one $0.50 dish and matching platethey placed the two pieces on top of each other.

They turned the bowl upside down and placed the plate on top to form a stand.

“Get a 50 cent plate and bowl and attach it with glue,” they said.

Once the glue had hardened, they revealed that the final product resulted in an effective, inexpensive cake stand.

“$1 is dupe!” they revealed.

They placed their dupe next to one from Target cake stands that boasted a much steeper price tag and a five-star rating.

“Theirs is $25,” they said.

“These would also be great next to a sink with soap, lotion, etc!” they suggested.
