Ever since Courtney was in high school, she had always dreamed of living high up, and as soon as she left, she made her dream come true.

Every day Courtney Johnson has to take a funicular (which she calls a tram) over a railway line so she can reach her house.

The first room you see when you walk into Courtney's home is an open living room and kitchen.

The homeowner from Austin, Texas, also revealed that she has three balconies, all of which have beautiful views, as well as a unique staircase with a shell ceiling.

She said: “The coolest thing is when you go up the stairs you see a scaling feature.

“This was in Architectural Digest in the early 2000s, which is super cool.

“It's like a historic house in Austin.”

Up the stairs is Courtney's master bedroom, which also has a balcony and a tree, and she currently uses the second bedroom as an office.

She said, 'This is the second bedroom, it's all so messy. This is just like my office.

“The second bedroom balcony is my favorite part, you go upstairs and this swirling shell type thing and the best view.”

Since living here, she's realized it's a “weird house” and has shared her moving journey on TikTok.

Courtney now has over 155,000 followers as many are fascinated by her living situation.

In one video, the homeowner answers many questions she is often asked.

Why did she move there?

First, Courtney responded, “How the heck did I end up living here?”

She said, “Well, the tram is quite big, it fits six people, so it can fit most of the furniture.”

Next question: 'Why did she buy this house?'

She said, “I just loved it, I just thought it was so fun and funky and fun fact that I've had this on my vision board since I was in high school.”

This was followed by answering the question, “Why don't you just climb up the hill?”

She said: “It's really hard to climb up the hill and on the other side of the hill is a huge cliff.

“It will also be very difficult to climb up the hill with groceries and stuff.”

Others wondered if her dog Pepa enjoyed living so high up, to which she replied: “Yes, she likes the tram.”

What happens in case of emergency?

But in the case of one emergency, Courtney admits the house's location isn't great.

She said: “Honestly, it's probably not safe.”

Another question she is often asked is, “Where does she get her deliveries?”

Courtney said: “With all the instructions I just tell people to put the deliveries on the tram.

What is a cable car?

A funicular is a type of cable car system that connects to various points along a railway line built on a steep hill or sloe.

The transportation system includes a carriage that can carry passengers to help them get to and from different destinations.

“Yes, a lot of people get confused.”

She adds: “The tram is only for my house, I am solely responsible and yes, there is security and luckily I can lock it.”

People were stunned to hear that Courtney lived at the end of a tram line and wanted to know more.

One user said: “That's so cool, a bro house tour.”

Someone else asked: “What happens if you lose power?”

Courtney replied: “Then I'm stuck.”

Another added: “No matter what people say, the view makes it all worth it.”

Courtney replied: “It's so amazing.”
