'It's easy to miss,' says iPhone expert of swipe gesture that unlocks hidden games

THERE'S a hidden game hidden in one of the most popular iPhone apps.

If you're a fan of retro games, you'll definitely want to check this one out, but it's very easy to miss, as we show in our Tap Tips video above.

Hidden in the official Google app is a secret pinball game.

It's completely free to access and play, but it's hidden behind a special gesture.

To find it, you'll first need to open the Google app: just swipe down on your iPhone's home screen and search for Google.

If you don't have it, you can download it from the App Store on your computer iPhone free.

Launch the app and then choose the tabs icon from the menu row.

Once you've done that, start frantically swiping up on the blank tab screen with both thumbs.

Get it right and a pinball game will appear at the bottom of the screen.

Then you can play it exactly as you'd expect: just tap the left and right paddles to move them.

The goal is to keep the ball up (don't let it fall between the paddles) while destroying the shapes at the top of the screen.

You'll earn points as you go, so see how high your score can get.

But be careful: every time the ball falls through the paddles you lose a life, and the game is over as soon as you run out of lives.

As you progress through the levels, panels will appear on the sides of the screen to bounce the ball.

Google has hidden a second game in your iPhone.

This time you need to go to the Google Chrome browser.

You may already have it installed, but you can download it for free if you don't have it yet.

Hidden in Chrome is a secret game called Dino Runner – built for those times when you don't have internet.

This means that you have to switch off WiFi and your mobile internet.

Now launch Google Chrome and try to access a website – which will inevitably happen failure.

You should see a “no internet” page functions a small picture of a dinosaur.

Tap the dinosaur with your finger and the game starts.

You have to tap the screen to make the dinosaur jump so you can clear obstacles.

Try to get as high a score as possible (with a possible maximum of 99,999) without dying.

This game has been around since 2014, but chances are you've missed it.

Google previously revealed that around 270 million Dino Runner games are played every month.
