Martin Lewis's MSE is issuing a 24-hour warning to anyone traveling with Easyjet

EASYJET passengers have been warned by Martin Lewis' Money Saving Expert to redeem their Covid-19 vouchers within the next 24 hours.

The holiday vouchers were distributed to EasyJet holidaymakers who suffered canceled flights and holidays during the pandemic.

Passengers are now being reminded that they must spend their vouchers before the deadline (which is set for Wednesday, January 31) or they will lose them, reports Money saving expert.

The warning comes after the holiday giant published a report in November last year that £58 million worth of tokens have yet to be redeemed.

This deadline was extended by the company – originally set for the end of July last year – giving Britons a longer period to plan their 2024 trips.

Customers have also been advised that there is only a deadline to book their flights with the vouchers, and not to actually travel.

Those who can't get away this year will be disappointed to hear that the vouchers can no longer be refunded or exchanged. So it's really now or never for Brits who parted with hard-earned money when the pandemic hit.

How can I redeem my flight voucher?

You need to go to the Easyjet website and find the flights you want to buy.

After this, check your booking again and enter your voucher redemption code.

The total amount you need to pay, including after you apply your voucher, will then be displayed and you can go ahead and make a payment.

You can use the full value of your voucher in one booking or use part of it to pay for a cheaper booking.

If you do not use all the credit on your voucher, EasJet will send you a new voucher to cover the difference.

Several other airlines offered the same or similar compensation, but many of them – including Jet2 and Tui – have now expired.

British Airways customers have a deadline of September 2024 to book and complete their travel.

The money-saving gurus also reminded customers of their rights against flight delays and cancellations.

On their site they said: “If your flight is canceled by the airline, you are entitled to a refund or alternative travel, regardless of the reason or how far in advance you are notified.

“Airlines are also expected to reimburse passengers who have had to rebook their own alternative flights.

“If your flight is delayed by more than five hours and you no longer wish to travel, you can request a refund, including any unused portions of your booking (such as your return flight).

“You may also be entitled to compensation if your flight is delayed by at least three hours or within two weeks of departure and this is the fault of the airline. An example of this is if a flight is delayed due to staff shortages. This could be between £110 and £520.”

This comes after it was discovered that EasyJet has a little-known feature in their app that helps you find Instagram-worthy destinations.
