A FARMER who mysteriously disappeared 30 years ago has reappeared with no memory of what happened, wearing the same clothes and carrying a train ticket from the day he disappeared.

Vasile Gorgos, now 95, returned to his home in rural Eastern Romania claiming that he had been ‘home’ all along.

Several chilling details about the cattle farmer‘s mysterious disappearance in 1991 remains unsolved.

Gorgos was known to regularly leave the city for a few days to sell his cattle, but this time he did not return for another thirty years.

After several days of no contact with Gorgos, his family became increasingly concerned.

Although he frequently left town, he always stayed in touch and usually returned – but this time he disappeared.

They contacted the Police and a search was conducted – with very little result.

Days without information turned into weeks, into months, into years, and his family began to suspect that Gorgos had died.

During the thirty years he was missing, regular memorial services were held in memory of the beloved farmer.

Until Gorgos, just as mysteriously as he disappeared, reappeared outside the gate of his farm in September 2021.

But his return has led to more questions than answered.

Witnesses reportedly claimed that Gorgos was left outside his gate by a carclaiming that the old man was confused and did not know where he was, but that he appeared well groomed.

Adding to the mystery, witnesses also claimed that the car drove away when the second Gorgos was dropped off, and that they could not remember the license plate.

Gorgos has reportedly undergone extensive treatment since then medical checks and doctors have concluded that the farmer is in good medical condition, apart from some neurological problems.

Although doctors have said this is completely normal for a man his age, the deficiencies of his memory encompass the thirty-year period during which he disappeared.

According to reports, Gorgos could remember that he was born in 1928, that his wife had died and that he was the son of a famous merchant.

But he had trouble recognizing his son and daughter.

Gorgos’ son, who also did not initially recognize his father, told local media that he still does not understand what happened all those years ago.

He said: “We don’t understand him. He doesn’t know what he’s saying.

“He tells us about the period when he was involved in breeding and selling cows. We ask him one thing, and he tells us another.

“Who knows where he has been, who kept him, maybe he was forced to work… who knows what kind of life he led?”

Bafflingly, the only things Gorgos seems to remember of his life are his family, his home and his work as a cattle rancher thirty years ago.

He adamantly stated that he had been home all these years.

Gorgos’ family had only a few clues to proceed: the fact that he returned in the same clothes he disappeared in, and the items in his pocket.

In one pocket they found his ID card, and in the other was a single train ticket along the Bacău-Ploieşti line from the day he disappeared.

However, their pleas were met with some conspiracy theories.
