The Española Battalion is a military unit that fought in some of the most intense battles of the war in Ukraine.

The leader of the group is 41-year-old Orlov Stanislav – also known as ‘The Spaniard’ – a die-hard CSKA fan who is said to have fought against the Donbas in 2014.

The group was officially granted the status of a private military company (PMC) last month.
