The nasty mold spreads like wildfire, leaving unsightly and dangerous stains that are dangerous to breathe and cost a fortune to repair.

This also applies to your valuable furniture.

A mother recently discovered that the toxic lint had grown 'all over' the back of her leather sofa.

She took to Facebook in a desperate search for help – and cleaning fanatics quickly recommended a 50 cent product.

They assured that Dove soap will make mold-affected furniture “like new.”

The 90g bars cost between 50p and 75p when bought in multipacks, meaning you can stock up on the anti-fungal bars cheaply.

All you have to do is lather the soap with some warm water and rub the solution onto your furniture.

The soap removes the mold, cleans the affected surface and kills any spores lurking on your furniture.

“Mine was covered in mold because I had stored them,” a cleaner wrote on Facebook.

“I washed it with warm soapy water, let it dry and then used plenty of leather cleaner.

“It looks beautiful again.”

Try to avoid putting furniture against the wall in rooms where you have seen mold outbreaks.

The moisture gets trapped and it's harder to dry out those walls.

In addition, the humid environment ensures that the mold spreads like wildfire.

Mold is a type of fungus that lives on animal or plant matter, including your beloved curtains, carpets and rugs.

It plays an important role in the Earth's ecosystem, but can be fatal indoors.

Mold is usually caused by moisture and condensation. or poor ventilation.

Rising damp is also a reason that your walls and ceilings can become moldy.

There are many ways to treat the toxic fuzz, but whatever method you use, it is imperative to protect yourself by wearing rubber gloves and a mask that covers your mouth and nose.

Keep the area well ventilated with windows and doors open to prevent the disease from spreading to other areas of your home.
