Some states will experience wet weather on Super Tuesday

It is questionable to what extent the weather influences turnout, but the predictions on election days are still closely monitored.

And rain or snow is forecast in several states on Tuesday.

After a major winter storm buried the Sierra Nevada and parts of the Mountain West in snow last weekend, persistent snow showers will continue Tuesday in the mountains of Northern California, Utah and Colorado.

The prospects are better in Texas and Oklahoma. Parts of both states experienced bad weather last week that allowed wildfires to rage, but pleasant weather is expected on Tuesday. Minnesota will also have nice weather, with slightly above average temperatures.

However, two coastal storms will hit most of the remaining states that have primaries on Tuesday, bringing at least a chance of rain in the South and Northeast. A Gulf Coast storm system will bring rain to Arkansas and Tennessee throughout the day. These showers may become heavier in Alabama toward the end of the day.

Eastern Virginia will likely experience showers from Arlington to Virginia Beach. More stable rain is likely in Massachusetts, Vermont and southern Maine.
