Mollie King got choked up as she found out that her 500km Red Nose Day charity bike ride had raised a quarter of a million pounds – and since the video was filmed on Wednesday evening, the figurehas almost doubled to more than £400,000.

The Saturdays singer, 36, is currently half way through her cycle from London to Hull in memory of her late father Stephen.

Mollie’s co-host and friend Matt Edmondson has accompanied her throughout the cycle and by the end of day three, on Wednesday evening, she had made it to Manchester.

Greeted by fellow BBC radio 1 DJ Greg James and two friends dressed as a ‘fajita cuddle’, Mollie later took to the studio to find out how much money she had raised so far.

‘Mollie, as of a few minutes ago… Pedal Power for Red Nose Day has raised £256,114,’ Greg announced on Wednesday, leaving the TV personality in total shock.

‘Oh my gosh I have no words,’ Mollie exclaimed. ‘I have no words, thank you! I literally could not do this… I couldn’t do it without you guys, your support.

‘Oh my god I’m completely lost for words. I cannot tell you how important this money is.’

Getting choked up, Mollie said: ‘I have seen where the money goes. I have met people who have benefitted so much from this money and it changes lives.

‘It means people can have longer with their families. People can see their friends for longer. It is completely life-changing.’

Earlier that day, before setting off for day three, Mollie was told that £181,023 had been raised so far.

She broke down in tears after hearing the staggering amount of money she had already raised, later to increase by more than £70,000, for Comic Relief just three days into her five day cycle.

Joining her co-star Greg James as she took a break from her bike ride on BBC radio 1, she got the boost she needed for the last stretch of the day.

Greg said: ‘The money raised is extraordinary. Can I give you a total? This might do the trick…’

Mollie said: ‘I’ve got like tears down my cheeks, I’m a mess.’

He added: ‘This might give you the boost you need for the next half hour or so… the total so far for Pedal Power for Red Nose Day Mollie, is £181,023.’

Speechless, Mollie said: ‘Oh my god! Aww come on!’

Before Mollie set off on her third circle on Wednesday morning, she said: ‘We’re on our way to Salford today. It feels such a long way away – this is the longest ride of the week. I’m doing 110km, which is 10k more than I have ever cycled.

‘It’s the hilliest day of the week so far and I’m tired, my body is really aching now, my legs have gone – I can’t feel them. It’s getting really tough.

‘Throughout the day, I have been tuning into my dad’s voice in my head. I know he would be saying “Go on Mol, you can do this” and that’s really helping me push forwards.

‘I’ve been checking in with Stuart every day and his support is helping to spur me on and take on the next day of the challenge. The crowds along the way have been phenomenal.

‘The cheering, beeping and waving is giving me such an energy boost – thank you to everyone who is donating and supporting me along the way.’

Mollie lost her dad beloved father Stephen from a brain tumour in November 2022,  just days after she welcomed her baby daughter Annabella with fiancé Stuart, 37.

His death came as a huge shock after Mollie explained he had been fit and healthy prior to his diagnosis and had even completed the London Marathon.

Beginning her challenge at Television Centre in London, the singer hugged her family before setting off on her journey.

Former English cricketer Stuart and Annabella were seen clutching on to a sign which read ‘Go Mummy.’

On Tuesday, during an appearance on Dean and Vicky’s radio show, Mollie’s co-star Charlie Hedges admitted that Mollie was ‘seriously struggling’ and ‘absolutely shattered’ two days into the challenge.

Revealing what Mollie had told her off-camera, she recalled the mother of one saying: ‘Do you know what I’ve had it, I’m absolutely shattered.’

Charlie continued: ‘Even tho she still looks beautiful, she looks shattered. She looks ‘like she’s hit her limit already. It’s been a tough day.

‘I think we just need to get her through today, I think she’s seriously struggling. That amount of money we told her is a big deal to her and is spurring her on, but in my heart knowing Mollie, we really need to get her to the end of this day.

‘The only way to do that, is for us to stop talking rubbish and for everyone to pull together and get this money in. This is the only way to get her through.

‘What’s going to help her is the reason she’s doing it in the first place and that is to raise a heck of a lot of money.’

‘Yesterday was crazy, the adrenaline from the start line kept me going, but it wasn’t an easy ride. It took me just under 11 hours to get to Towcester, but we estimated it would take eight. When I finished the journey, it was pitch black, but to see people’s faces and see them smiling, was just what I needed’.

Mollie also admitted there is some friendly competition between her and the former cricket player, as she teased: ‘I’d been trying to train for about six weeks and the first time we went out, within about 10 minutes he was flying past me.

‘I was not amused. He’s just got it. I can see why he’s the athlete of the family.’

Molly said: ‘Today I start my weeklong journey cycling from London to Hull, via Manchester – we wanted to throw in some extra miles!

‘It’s going to be an almighty challenge, six -weeks ago I had never cycled on a road and today is the day I make my way to Hull.

‘I’ve been so nervous over the last few days, but I can’t wait to get going and I know that I have the Radio 1 listeners behind me as well as my amazing friends and family.

Bihar Accident: Nine persons, including two women, were killed in a freak road accident late on Sunday evening after a truck, a jeep and a motorcycle were involved in a collision in Bihar’s Kaimur district. According to police, the accident occurred when a speeding Jeep struck a motorcycle, triggering a fatal chain of events where both vehicles veered into the opposite lane and crashed into a truck, killing nine people.

“According to eyewitnesses, the accident took place when a jeep, carrying eight occupants, including two women, first hit a motorcycle while traveling in the same direction. It appears that the driver had lost control of the jeep, which led to the collision,” Mohania DSP Dilip Kumar told reporters at the spot.

Freak accident

The officer said the collision sent both vehicles into the opposite lane, where they collided with a speeding truck, killing nine people: eight occupants of the Jeep and the motorcyclist.

“Subsequently, both the jeep and the motorcycle swerved into the opposite lane where a speeding truck collided with them, killing all nine people, including the motorcyclist, on the spot. The truck driver fled after the accident,” Kumar said.

The incident took place on GT Road near Devkali village in Mohania police station, police said.

DSP Kumar said the truck has been seized and investigation is underway, adding that the identity of the deceased is being ascertained.

Preliminary investigations indicate that no other persons were injured in the accident, he said.

Bihar CM condoles deaths

Meanwhile, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar condoled those killed in the tragic accident and assured that all necessary assistance would be provided to the injured.

“The CM expressed his deep anguish over the horrific road accident at Mohania in Kaimur and conveyed his condolences to the bereaved families,” said a statement from the CM office late on Sunday evening.

The Chief Minister has directed senior officials of the district administration to provide all necessary medical support to the injured, the statement said, adding that senior officials of the district administration have reached the spot.

Dan Walker has shed light on the 'out-of-body experience' he went through after his near-fatal cycling accident last year.

The presenter, 46, was hit by a car while cycling in Sheffield, near his family home, in February 2023.

The accident left him battered and bruised with a bloodied face, but luckily he was lucky to avoid serious injuries.

During the accident, Dan also experienced something that closely resembled an “out of body experience,” saying that while he “didn't know” if it was spiritual, part of him “really thought it was.”

Dan, who is a devout Christian, told me The times in a new interview: 'In my mind I was cycling along a French boulevard, a tree-lined boulevard, where I think I had been before, but not on a bicycle.

“Then all of a sudden I looked at myself on the ground, looking at a screen, and on that screen I saw these two heads appear. And then I jumped back into myself and lay on the ground and those two faces were the paramedics.'

Ultimately, he did not ask the police to press charges, even though at the time he felt “that was it.”

However, he still feels the impact of the accident every day and has difficulty getting out of his car due to nerve damage.

Although he broke no bones, the car stopped just 50cm from his head and he narrowly avoided long-term injuries.

Dan is the new presenter of Classic FM's revamped breakfast show after joining the team in January.

The early start means he is away from his wife Sarah and three children: Susannah, 16, Jessica, 14, and Joe, 13, for much of the week.

The former TV football presenter previously co-hosted BBC Breakfast for six years before moving to Channel 5 and appearing on Strictly Come Dancing in 2021, where he was paired with Nadiya Bychkova.

At the time of the bike accident, Dan told his fans the news of his crash via an Instagram post hours after the incident, noting that he was “glad to be alive.”

He then tweeted a selfie of his swollen and cut face, accompanied by a bloody white shirt, saying he had “no memory of anything.”

Walker said: “A bit of an accident this morning. I'm glad I'm still alive after being hit by a car while riding my bike. The face is a mess, but I don't think anything is broken.'

'Overwhelmed by all the sweet messages. Thank you. Just home from the hospital. Battered and bruised, but – amazingly – nothing broken. Very grateful that I'm still here. I have no memory of anything and only remember walking around on the tarmac with paramedics and police around me.”

'Thanks to Shaun and Jamie for sorting me and the lovely buyer on site. This is my smile. Grateful for our NHS [sic].'

Days after the accident, Dan admitted that wearing a cycle helmet had probably helped save his life and prevented irreversible injuries – something he has now admitted led to other cyclists branding him a 'disgrace'.

During his recovery process, the English journalist thanked one particular supporter, his dog Winnie, who helped lift his spirits while he healed from the accident.

The TV presenter wrote on Twitter: 'Winnie hasn't left my side this week. She is the best. 2 things happened today… 1. I had my first solid food 2. I ordered a new bicycle helmet Thank you for all the sweet messages asking how I am doing. The swelling goes down, but the body still aches [sic].'

“The driver stopped 20 inches from my head,” Dan recalls.

'I remember seeing myself lying on the floor and looking up at this little white hole in a black screen, and then the hole got bigger and bigger and it became the faces of two paramedics and a police officer.

“Then you think about the things you've left unsaid or the things you've always wanted to do.”

What he actually did was call a family friend of Paul Ansell, the partner of Nicola Bulley whose body had been discovered the day before, to check if he was okay.

'I don't know why I did that. I asked him how the family was doing. Later that day he called me back and said, “Why didn't you tell me you were in the back of an ambulance with your face covered in blood?”

The TV presenter also revealed he has 'no memory' of the horror bike crash.

The former BBC presenter staggered into his home in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, after being picked up by his wife Sarah from the emergency department of his local hospital shortly this afternoon.

Walker hosted BBC Breakfast from 2016 and took part in the 2021 series of Strictly Come Dancing, revealing he signed up for the show to do something 'fun' and 'giggle' after reporting on difficult news stories during the pandemic.

Dan said he 'broke my watch and phone, ruined my pants' and that his bike was a 'mess' after the crash

He also hosted Football Focus for twelve years, along with regular appearances on Match of the Day, the Grand National, Royal Ascot and the NFL Show.

In January he became the regular presenter of the weekday breakfast show on Classic FM from 6:30 am to 10:00 am.

He said: “This is a great opportunity to join one of the country's leading radio stations.

'I'm over the moon to be part of Classic FM's brilliant line-up and presenting the breakfast show is a wonderful opportunity.

'I am passionate about classical music and have been listening for a long time. I also love the breakfast crowd and I think they know me well, so I can't wait to get started.”

This is the shocking moment an Amazon delivery person steals a 12-year-old boy's bike left in a front yard.

Mother Beckie Wheeldon said her son Kyren was left 'heartbroken' by the brazen daylight robbery on February 15 in Bulwell, Nottinghamshire.

Kyren had cycled 20 minutes to a friend's house and left his Carrera in their front yard around 4 p.m.

About half an hour later, the delivery person is seen on camera footage arriving with a package in front of the house, which he leaves in a garbage bin. As he walks back to the van, he glances at the bike before getting out of shot.

Moments later, he is seen picking up the bike before calmly wheeling it to the Amazon van, which then drives away.

When Kyren returned a few hours later, he discovered his bike was gone and called his mother while 'crying his eyes out' about his lost bike.

Mum Beckie said: 'This is heartbreaking for him. He cried his eyes out on the phone and told me what happened.

'I thought he was just a normal young boy who stole the bike to get some money.

'You never thought it would be a delivery person. He absolutely loved that bike. I was angry and upset with him.”

Kyren received the mountain bike as a Christmas present last year and Beckie said it was 'his way of socialising' as he rode it at the local BMX track near his home.

An Amazon spokesperson confirmed that the delivery company “will no longer deliver packages.”

They said: 'We have very high standards for the delivery service providers we work with and how they serve customers.

'We take this matter seriously and have contacted the customer to rectify this. The delivery person will no longer deliver Amazon packages.'

A spokesperson for Nottinghamshire Police confirmed they are investigating the bike theft on February 15.

Noida Crime: In a barbaric incident, a man in Noida was killed after he was stabbed with a knife, tied to a motorcycle with a rope and then mercilessly dragged through the streets by two men in Barola village. Officials said the gruesome incident was the fallout of an old rivalry between the suspect and the deceased man, later identified as Mehndi Hassan.

The inhumane incident was captured on CCTV cameras and the footage went viral on social media platforms. The alleged footage shows the victim, with one of his legs tied to the bicycle with a rope, being dragged down the street as bystanders look on in shock and horror.

Suspect took victim to police station!

According to police, the barbaric act of the man being dragged through the streets of Barola village, within the limits of Sector 49 police station, took place on Saturday evening.

A senior official said the victim was taken to the police station by the two suspects with serious injuries and later rushed to a hospital where he succumbed.

“The victim, Mehndi Hassan, was taken to the police station in an injured condition around midnight by two young men. He was rushed to a hospital where he died during treatment,” Additional DCP Noida Manish Kumar Mishra told news agency PTI.

Old rivalry

Mishra said the suspects are brothers and were involved in an old rivalry with the deceased victim.

“The duo who took the injured man to the police station were identified as Anuj and Nitin. Anuj told police that Mehndi Hassan had stabbed his father in 2018 in an attempt to kill him. A case has also been filed in this regard,” Mishra said.

Anuj further told police that since that episode, Hassan would taunt him and make comments about him that often infuriated him, the officer said.

“Frustrated with the situation, he attacked Hassan with a knife on Saturday with the help of his brother Nitin,” Mishra said. Both suspects were immediately arrested by the police.

Arrested after police encounter

The duo was arrested but when they allegedly attempted to escape from police custody, an encounter broke out in which they both suffered gunshot wounds, he said.

Mishra said the suspect took the police to the spot where they had hidden the murder weapon. However, they attacked the police and tried to flee, leading to an encounter in which both brothers suffered bullet injuries.

“During the recovery of the weapon used in the crime, the suspect led police to a culvert in Barola around 5am on Sunday. Anuj and Nitin attacked the police group accompanying them. In retaliation, the police team opened fire, resulting in injuries to both suspects,” Mishra said.

Both suspects were then taken to a hospital for treatment, he added.

Besides the murder case for killing Hassan, the suspects have also been booked under IPC section 307 (for attempt to murder) and 224 (resisting lawful arrest), in a separate FIR filed after the encounter with the police , officials said.

For many, the New Year has ushered in resolutions for a healthier lifestyle, with cycling becoming a popular choice to improve fitness.

But amid the growing enthusiasm to kick off the pounds, some are overlooking the rules and regulations that could land them in hot water.

Mark Brown, owner of bicycle insurance company ProtectMyBicyclehas warned that even minor offenses 'could lead to large fines', which could 'deter people from cycling altogether'.

Here he outlines nine cycling offenses and the associated penalties.

Use of a mobile phone: fine up to £50

Although it is not illegal in Britain to use a mobile phone while cycling, Mark warns that you can get a hefty fine for doing so

Mark says: 'Using a phone while cycling can distract you from the road, leading to potential accidents.' Although it is not illegal in Britain, Mark notes that 'it could be considered careless or inconsiderate cycling, carrying a possible fine of £50'.

Driving on sidewalks: fine up to £50

Mark explains: 'The Road Traffic Act 1988 states that cyclists must ride on the road unless there are specific exceptions, such as designated cycle lanes.

'The law also applies to children, but children under the age of ten cannot be prosecuted. But be careful in Scotland, where criminal liability starts at eight o'clock. This did not stop a police officer in Lincolnshire from confiscating a four-year-old's bicycle in 2015.'

Driving through pedestrian areas: fine up to £1,100

Although many cyclists avoid obvious pedestrian areas, Mark says: 'Some smaller, less marked areas can catch the eye of cyclists.

'Fines usually range from £50 to £100. However, a female cyclist was ordered to pay more than £1,100 in fines and costs for cycling through Grimsby town center in June last year.'

High power e-bikes – fine up to £200

According to Mark, to be allowed on the road, e-bikes must have 'a set of working pedals, an electric motor of less than 250 watts and a maximum speed of 25 km/h'. If the vehicle exceeds these limits, he says, you'll need a driver's license and insurance when “entering motor vehicle territory.”

Mark added: 'Driving without insurance is the biggest financial blow, with on-the-spot fines of up to £200 and possible prosecution leading to higher penalties.'

While many will avoid riding through obvious pedestrian zones, Mark warns that 'smaller' and 'less marked' areas can catch cyclists off guard

While many will avoid riding through obvious pedestrian zones, Mark warns that 'smaller' and 'less marked' areas can catch cyclists off guard

Carrying too many passengers: fine up to £50

Mark explains that overload can 'affect the stability and handling of the bicycle, increasing the risk of accidents'.

Fdefective to display a front and rear light – fine up to £5

Mark says: 'Increasing your visibility by showing front and rear lights, especially during poor weather conditions or at night, is an essential step in preventing accidents.'

Ignoring 'no cycling' signs – fine up to £30

The expert explains that 'no cycling' signs will be placed in specific areas where cycling 'may pose a safety risk, such as busy pedestrian zones'. He says: 'Ignoring these signals is not only against the law, but also disregards the safety and convenience of others.'

Running a red light: fine up to £50

According to Mark: 'Jumping through red lights, whether on a bicycle or another vehicle, is a serious violation of the traffic rules. For the safety of everyone on the road, it is crucial to obey the traffic lights.'

Careless or furious cycling – fine up to £2,500

Mark says these offenses include 'a range of reckless behaviour, from weaving through traffic to speeding'. He adds: 'Fines can reach up to £1,000 for careless cycling and as much as £2,500 plus potential points on your driving license for angry cycling. Reckless cycling can even land you in jail, depending on the severity.”

West Bengal news: A Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader was shot and killed by armed men on motorcycles in West Bengal’s Baharampur. According to reports, Satyan Chowdhury – the ruling party’s general secretary for Murshidabad – was shot at by unknown assailants in the Bhardupur area of Baharampur.

He was rushed to a local hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival, they said.

According to reports, Satyan, accompanied by some of his close aides, was inspecting an under-construction high-rise at Bhakuri junction in Baharampur when three unidentified gunmen arrived on two bikes and fired three shots at the TMC leader before fleeing the scene.

When locals heard the gunshots, they arrived at the spot and rushed Chowdhury to Murshidabad Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

According to local reports, Satyan Chowdhury was once close to West Bengal Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, but the two drifted apart and Satyan later joined the Mamata Banerjee-led TMC. They said Satyen recently began distancing himself from politics for reasons that are not yet clear.

Satyan had joined the Trinamool Congress over alleged differences with Adhir Ranjan, reports said. However, the TMC leader has not been very active in politics since the last state assembly elections.

‘Congress, CPM behind murder’

Meanwhile, the local TMC leader has accused the Congress and the CPM of orchestrating the murder of Satyan Chowdhury in a bid to create unrest in the state ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The Left leader and CPM secretary of Murshidabad district Jamir Mollah, however, denied the allegations and said the Trinamool leader was killed in a clan conflict.

Satyan Chowdhury was shot dead at close range on Sunday afternoon, police said, adding that they have registered a case in this connection and initiated investigation to track down the TMC leader’s killers.

“The investigation into the incident has already started. Efforts are being made to identify the culprits by checking the CCTV footage of the area,” Murshidabad Superintendent of Police Surya Pratap Yadav said.

Kate Middleton showed off her natural ease with children as she today comforted a ‘brave’ boy who fell of his bike – and later jokingly introduced herself as Prince William’s wife to a group of children asking who she was.

The Princess of Wales, 41, was effortlessly charming as she high-fived very young supporters on a visit to the Outfit Moray charity in Scotland which delivers outdoor learning programmes to young people.

The royal knelt down as she reassured one child that falling off his bike ‘is part of learning’.

‘Are you OK,’ she checked, putting an arm around him. ‘You are so brave.’

She then asked him where his bicycle was – to which the shy boy pointed – and encouraged him to ‘jump on’ and ‘give it another go’.

Elsewhere, she then chatted with a group of excited young bike enthusiasts who asked who she was.

‘I’m married to William,’ she quipped, smiling at the kids.

The Prince and Princess of Wales, who are known as the Duke and Duchess of Rothesay when visiting Scotland, are spending the day in Burghead, Moray and Inverness.

After she donned a helmet to jump on a mountain bike she met with young children who waved Scottish flags while grabbing the Princess’s hand.

The couple thrilled well-wishers with an impromptu display of their bike skills during a mini-tour of the north of Scotland.

Excited crowds cheered William and Kate on as they donned crash helmets and rode bikes around a series of ramps and other obstacles laid out in community gardens during a visit to Burghead, Moray.

The couple were visiting the town to learn more about the work of charity Outfit Moray, which arranges outdoor learning and adventure activity programmes such as mountain biking for young people to boost their confidence and self-esteem.

They spoke to the chief executive of the charity and a group of schoolchildren before boarding their bikes, with William asking children questions including what sports they enjoy and what football teams they support.

He was later overhead to say he found a see-saw on a bike ‘tricky’, but both he and Kate managed to complete the circuit unscathed, encouraged by shouts of ‘Go on, William’ from well-wishers.

Hundreds of people lined the town’s main street to catch a glimpse and take pictures of the couple as they then made their way to Burghead Primary School, where they watched bike feats performed by children in the playground.

William answered questions put to him by pupils, including one who asked if he had brought any of the King’s Guards with him, while Kate volunteered to time a bike race between a few of the other children.

Another child cheekily asked William how old he is, and when the prince asked back what age the pupils think he is, he acted shocked when they replied 57, and said: ‘I’m not that old.’

However the rain held off long enough for the pair to finish their conversations ahead of the school bell going off, which they took as their signal to leave.

Outfit Moray chief executive Tony Brown said after their departure: ‘It’s our 20th anniversary this year and what a great way to celebrate that milestone and look forward to another 20 years.

‘Since the Covid pandemic we’ve seen a significant rise in mental health issues with young people, particularly around anxiety and loss of confidence.

‘Being outdoors in nature and doing physical things is really good for mental health.

‘Gettting as many young people out on our programmes as possible is a way of helping those that might be facing challenges.’

Moray Council leader Kathleen Robertson said meeting William and Kate is something the schoolchildren will remember fondly for the rest of their lives.

‘I think it’s a real delight for the kids and a real treat for them to meet royalty in real life,’ she said.

‘I remember the Silver Jubilee in 1977 and King Charles coming to Quarrier’s Village in Renfrewshire.

‘I saw him when I was five in a crowd like you see here today and that has lived with me my whole life.

‘These kids will remember this for the rest of their lives.’

Burghead Primary School acting head Martin Collins said he overheard William and Kate speaking to a person assisted through hard times by Outfit Moray and found them to be deeply interested in the charity’s work.

‘It was really nice to meet them, they were really relaxed right from the word go,’ he said.

‘Prince William was very engaged and very interested in the wonderful job Outfit Moray do.

‘It was lovely to see them getting on their bikes, the audience just loved that.

‘It was wonderful for the children to have this experience. It was fabulous to see.

‘There will be a wonderful feeling around Burghead tonight, for sure.’

The mental health theme of William and Kate’s day-long tour continued as they visited Brodieshill Farm, near Forres.

They learned about the support being offered to young people at the business, run by Robert Manson and his wife Nicola, along with his parents Colin and Irene.

The couple met members of Lower Speyside Young Farmers and Farmstrong Scotland representatives to speak about their work promoting positive mental health in rural communities.

Lucy McGillivray, who farms at Glenlivet, Moray, and is a National Farmers Union Scotland representative, said William and Kate were interested in her farming journey as well as the impact of recent floods on the region.

She said: ‘A couple of members lost their lives in the flooding and there has been a huge amount of financial loss; for example, fields of crops worth hundreds of thousands of pounds.

‘I just really explained the impact of the flooding and they were asking where I lived and about the subsidies.

‘They were just lovely people – really down to earth.’

William and Kate also met families based nearby at RAF Kinloss and Lossiemouth who attend the farm’s indoor and outdoor play areas.

As the 45-minute visit drew to a close, a beaming Kate could not resist playing with the young attendees, running about searching for pumpkins on the grounds.

Kate radiated elegance in a Check Diamond Quilted Coat from Burberry .

She layered the jacket over a black turtleneck jumper, black trumpet jeans and heavy-duty Reiss boots, and styled her thick brunette locks in loose waves.

Meanwhile Prince William, also 41, looked sharp in a khaki jacket and navy trousers.

It wasn’t long before the Princess, who is known for her sporty and competitive streaks, jumped on a mountain bike to take it for a ride – and she beamed while doing so.

The couple’s visit today has three destinations; Outfit Moray, Brodieshill Farm and the DAY1 mentoring charity.

Outfit Moray offers young people in the area accessible and affordable outdoor learning workshops.

The aim of the work is to encourage the generation to get outside, help them develop life skills and improve their mental and physical health in doing so.

In particular, the charity helps children aged between eight and 18 who are vulnerable or from disadvantaged backgrounds. Since its inception in 2003 Outside Moray has worked with more than 16,000 young people.

Among the activities the charity involves young people in are mountain bikinh, paddlesports, rock climbing, archery and bushcraft.

It also runs a number of programmes in local schools such as cycle training, bike maintenance and first aid programmes.

Brodieshill Farm is a family-run operation where the Lower Speyside Young Farmers have gathered to meet the royals.

Farmstrong Scotland representatives are also chatting to Their Royal Highnesses about how the organisations are supporting the mental wellbeing of young people in rural communities across Scotland – and local farmers in particular.

Lower Speyside Young Farmers is run for young people from any background from the ages of 14-29 across the local area and provides opportunities for socialising and interaction in what can sometimes be an isolating environment.

The group has recently taken part in the ‘Are ewe okay’ campaign led by the Scottish Association of Young Farmer Clubs, which encourages members to talk about mental health and break down the stigma and taboo associated with it.

The couple’s third and final engagement of the day is the DAY1 charity in Inverness, which provides mentoring, training, personal development and employability services to vulnerable young people.

The charity aims to equip its young people with the social and emotional skills to succeed in life through mentoring and personal development programmes. These allow participants to build self-reliance, selfconfidence and helps them identify their own interests giving them clear direction in their lives.

The charity also owns and runs the social enterprise, Inverness Kart Raceway, which serves as the location for its apprenticeship scheme in Automotive Skills.

Terrifying moment as attacker tries to make his way home with a bike lock after chasing down a female stranger he randomly attacked in the street who had fled indoors for safety

  • Gulwali Stanezay, 22, can be seen using a D-lock on a bicycle to break through the door
  • He was arrested March 1 and has since pleaded guilty to two counts of ABH

This is the shocking moment when an assailant tried to force his way into a house after chasing a woman he attacked on the street.

The woman was on FaceTime with a friend when she was randomly attacked by Gulwali Stanezay, 22, on February 26 in Harlesden, North West London.

Terrified, she managed to flee to the home of a stranger who bravely sheltered her.

The homeowner said her partner heard a commotion outside their home before seeing a woman running from a man outside their door.

The footage – captured by two cameras on the side and above their door – then shows Stanezay making long runs towards the door to try and kick it over.

When this doesn’t work, he smashes one of the cameras with a D-lock and then uses it to hit the glass windows on the front of the door.

The homeowner inside can be heard yelling “Christ” as Stanezay slams the door for over a minute.

Towards the end of the video, a police officer arrives and says, “We tried our best to find him and we chased him…and we couldn’t find him.”

He also explained that the police were very busy that night as Wembley Stadium was hosting the Carabao Cup final between Manchester United and Newcastle United.

Before the 22-year-old started to break down the door, the friend was able to contact the woman via facetime with her father who went looking for her.

However, he eventually ran into Stanezay and was beaten by him.

Stanezay was arrested on March 1, three days after police were called with reports of two people being attacked and vehicles damaged at the site.

He has since pleaded guilty to two counts of grievous bodily harm and two counts of criminal damage, meaning these gruesome images can now be released.

After being remanded in pre-trial detention on 6 July pending sentencing, he will be sentenced at Harrow Crown Court on July 6.

At the time, the woman told the Mirror that while the ordeal traumatized her, she felt no “maliciousness” towards him and hoped he gets the “care he needs.”
