King Charles III has continued to fulfill his royal duties despite battling cancer.

Charles, 75, was photographed leaving Buckingham Palace in the back seat of a black car on Thursday, March 21. The king wore a black suit with a baby blue tie.

While attending an event on Thursday, his niece Princess Eugenie revealed that he is in a good mood.

“He’s doing well,” said Eugenie, 33, during the Elephant Family’s Little Egg Hunt, in support of a nonprofit founded by Queen Camille‘s deceased brother, Mark Shand.

Charles has recently limited his public appearances and held only a few audiences at the palace while he received treatment for cancer.

Buckingham Palace confirmed in January that Charles needed a routine procedure for an enlarged prostate. Weeks later, it was announced that Charles had been diagnosed with “a form of cancer.” Neither the palace nor the king have shared further details, but a royal expert has Omid Scobie reported in February that Charles does not have prostate cancer.

Since news of his condition made headlines, Charles has only briefly addressed his diagnosis.

“I would like to express my sincere thanks for the many messages of support and good wishes I have received in recent days,” he said in a February statement. “As anyone affected by cancer will know, such kind thoughts are the greatest comfort and encouragement.”

He continued at the time: “It is equally encouraging to hear how sharing my own diagnosis has helped to promote public understanding and shine a light on the work of all those organizations supporting cancer patients and their families in the Support UK and the rest of the world. My lifelong admiration for their tireless care and dedication is all the greater because of my own personal experience.”

But yesterday he received veterans of the Korean War at Buckingham Palace as well as having a meeting with Home Secretary James Cleverly. 

Today’s Palace visitors included Mbelwa Kairuki, High Commissioner for Tanzania, and Ng Teck Hean, High Commissioner for Singapore.

Both men officially presented their credentials to the King, signifying their first meetings with him since being appointed to their current roles.

The ‘business as usual’ approach shown by Charles comes after tumultuous weeks for the royal family, with both him and his daughter-in-law the Princess of Wales suffering health problems. 

It emerged last night that three members of staff at the London Clinic have been suspended amid an investigation into allegations there were attempts to access Kate’s private medical data.

The alleged breach of Kate’s data took place at the clinic after the future Queen was admitted for planned abdominal surgery on January 16, with Kate being discharged 14 days later.

She has rarely been seen in public since then, leading to cruel conspiracy theories on social media about her wellbeing and health.

Data watchdog the Information Commissioner’s Officer confirmed it had ‘received a breach report’ and was in the process of ‘assessing the information provided’.

Meanwhile, insiders at the hospital, based in Marylebone, central London, said staff had been ‘left utterly shocked and distraught’ that a ‘trusted colleague’ could have carried out such a ‘breach of trust and ethics’.

The Princess is said to be aware of the allegations, while a spokesperson for Kensington Palace said: ‘This is a matter for the London Clinic.’

It is a criminal offence for staff in any NHS or private healthcare setting to access the medical records of a patient without the consent of the medical provider’s data controller.

The London Clinic could not confirm the exact date the alleged breach is said to have taken place but the revelation came a day after footage emerged of Kate out and about in Windsor over the weekend.

Footage today showed crowds of royal fans watching as the King was driven from Clarence House, having been unable to join his wife on a scheduled two-day trip to Northern Ireland.

Camilla has begun a series of engagements in Belfast – where she was today photobombed by smartly-dressed 23-month-old Fitz Corrie-Salmon.

The boy wearing a tuxedo and bow tie posed in front of the cameras as Camilla visited a shop and talked to staff at Knotts bakery in Belfast.

She grinned as she watched him and said: ‘We have a natural for the cameras.

‘There’s something so wonderful about this kind of place.’

Camilla also told how Charles was ‘doing very well’ and was ‘disappointed’ to miss out on the trip to Northern Ireland.

During a visit to The Arcadia deli, shop assistant Brenda Robb handed over a get well card for Charles and extended her best wishes.

Asked several times about the King’s wellbeing, she said: ‘He’s doing very well.’

Responding to quips about men ‘not being the best patients’, she joked: ‘I try to keep him in order.’

She added: ‘He’s very disappointed he can’t come.’

She was today meeting business owners and staff at shops on the bustling Lisburn Road in south Belfast on the second day of her stay in Northern Ireland.

And she was given armfuls of local produce for him to enjoy by well-wishers who were keen Charles didn’t entirely miss out.

At Coffey’s Butcher, which has been operating on the Lisburn Road since 1929, she met some of the three generations of the family who run it, remarking: ‘My gosh, there are a lot of you.’

Inspecting the meat counter, she said, ‘My goodness me, what a great selection’, and asked: ‘All of these are locally sourced? What do you sell the most of?

‘It’s wonderful, it’s all very tempting. It’s lovely to see you thriving.’

She was handed a large bunch of floweres and accepted a bag full of Northern Irish specialities including vegetable rolls, beef sausages and Belfast pickle.

Camilla said: ‘I shall take these back to my husband – he will really make the most of them.’

At the next shop Arcadia, a delicatessen that has been part of the Lisburn Road since 1933, she was also given a selection of their charcuterie, cheese, and local meats including Irish black butter.

Laura Graham-Brown, owner, said the Queen had been particularly interested in the social aspect of the shop, which is seen as a link to the local community..

Ms Graham-Brown said: ‘We had a discussion about the impact of local independent retail in the context of loneliness and social interaction.

‘We know our customers and their families and lives. She was very interested in that.’

In the third and final shop Knotts Bakery, the Queen was told about its traditional Ulster baking methods with no machinery involved in the family business which employs 120 people.

She was given a fruit loaf and iced madeira, with co-owner William Corrie, 38, later saying: ‘She said she’d eat some of them on the way home.

Camilla arrived in Northern Ireland yesterday evening, with a bugler from the Hillsborough Ford Guard playing to mark her arrival at Hillsborough Castle in Co Down, the royal residence in the region.

The Queen was last in Northern Ireland last May when she and the King undertook engagements on their first visit to the region following the coronation.

She is travelling alone this week after Charles stepped back from his public duties while receiving treatment for cancer.

The British Embassy in Moscow was today forced to issue an official statement confirming that King Charles III is still alive, after Russian media claimed he had died.

A host of Russian news sites and their associated social media accounts reported earlier today that the king had died at the age of 75 due to cancer complications, citing unnamed “media” sources in an unexplained flurry of messages.

It came after an image of a patently false statement from ‘Buckingham Palace’ reporting Charles’ ‘unexpected death’ was circulated on social media.

“King Charles III of Great Britain has died at the age of 75, according to media reports,” Russian news channel Sputnik reported.

‘There is no information about this on the royal family’s website or in the British media.’

Minutes later, their stories were updated after they were forced to climb down following reports that the king was indeed not dead.

The British Embassy in Moscow then furiously posted to X: ‘Reports of the death of King Charles III of Great Britain are fake!’

The British Embassy in Kiev followed shortly afterwards with a statement saying: ‘We would like to inform you that the news of the death of King Charles III is fake.’

Several prominent media outlets reported on the fake news, but it was not immediately clear whether they had made a mistake or whether Vladimir Putin’s propaganda machine was directly behind it.

The sick stunt involving the monarch followed criticism in Britain and other Western countries over Vladimir Putin’s “victory” in a “rigged” presidential election.

The British Embassy’s Telegram channel posted a message in Russian to emphasize that the reports were fake.

“Reports of the death of King Charles III of Great Britain are fake,” the announcement said, shortly after the British embassy in Ukraine issued a similar message.

The first media outlets to publish the false report were RIA, Sputnik, Readkovka and Mash – staunchly pro-Putin channels – but they all later corrected their stories.

Mashmedia wrote: ‘British King Charles III has died, Buckingham Palace reports. Elizabeth II’s son took the throne less than a year ago; the coronation took place on May 6, 2023. He was 75 years old.’

It was updated to say ‘the message turned out to be fake’ and added: ‘Let’s not forget that he was diagnosed with cancer a few months ago.’

But the newspaper later stated: ‘The fake news about Charles III’s death spread quickly and was just as quickly debunked.

‘The King of Great Britain is alive and going about his business. At least that’s what Buckingham Palace says.‘

Even Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov’s spokeswoman, Maria Zakharova, joined the fray, writing: “London looks pathetic.”

Pro-Kremlin BAZA online media reported: ‘The Russian media reported the death of British King Charles III with reference to a document allegedly published by Buckingham Palace.

‘The screenshot of the message about the death of Charles III turned out to be fake.’

The false palace announcement was dated today and read: “The king died unexpectedly yesterday afternoon.”

Independent outlet Meduza stated: ‘A number of media and Telegram outlets reported the death of British King Charles III – citing a false statement from Buckingham Palace.

“A screenshot of the statement, which became a news source, is provided in particular by the channel BAZA Telegram.

“This statement is not on the royal family’s website or social networks.”

Russian state news channel RIA Novosti corrected its earlier report and admitted it was based on “rumors,” stating: “The Buckingham Palace press service denied RIA Novosti rumors about the death of King Charles III.

“He continues to conduct official and private business.

“Information about Charles’ death appeared some time ago in many Russian sources. The basis for this was a certain message, the authorship of which was attributed to Buckingham Palace and which apparently turned out to be false.’

State news agency TASS reported that the story was fake.

The Rossiyskaya Gazeta, the Kremlin’s own newspaper published by Putin’s government, wrote: ‘King Charles III continues to conduct work and private affairs, Buckingham Palace said.

“Previously, many Telegram channels published unverified and false information about the monarch’s death.”

King Charles has shaken hands with Chancellor Jeremy Hunt ahead of tomorrow’s Budget.

Charles met with Mr Hunt in his private audience room at Buckingham Palace earlier on Tuesday.

The Chancellor usually meets the monarch the day before the government’s plans for the economy are presented in a statement to the House of Commons.

Charles, dressed in a blue suit and pale tie, smiled broadly as he welcomed Mr Hunt to the palace.

His Majesty later traveled to Clarence House while the Monarch continues his treatment cancer.

The king appeared to be in a positive mood as he was pictured returning to the royal residence.

The 75-year-old is not performing any public duties while he receives treatment, but continues to work on government papers behind the scenes.

As he steps back from official visits, other members of the royal family have taken on additional duties.

Queen Camilla has been holding down the fort since King Charles’ cancer diagnosis in January.

She has completed 13 official assignments solo since her husband’s condition came to light, but is now expected to hand over the government to the Prince of Wales and Princess Anne while she takes a break.

The king was diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer earlier this year after hospital treatment for an enlarged prostate, which was unrelated to him.

He was treated at the same hospital as the Princess of Wales, who underwent abdominal surgery for an unknown condition in January.

Kensington Palace said last week that Kate would return to Royal appointments after Easter.

The Queen recently met Ukrainian first lady Olena Zelenska at Clarence House on Thursday.

They were talking while sitting in the Garden Room, with their meeting taking place just days after the second anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Camilla was also pictured putting her arm behind Ms Zelenska’s back as she led her down a corridor ahead of their meeting.

Ms Zelenska posted a video on social media of Camilla greeting her warmly with a kiss on both cheeks and saying: “Hello. How nice to see you.’

She wrote that she was “delighted to personally express my gratitude to Her Majesty Queen Camilla, and in her person to the entire @RoyalFamily and all the people of Great Britain for their support of (Ukraine) and our displaced people (internally displaced persons) .

‘Our values ​​are common: life, freedom, democracy. Thank you for standing up for them together today.”
