A South African woman has revealed that strangers accused her of cheating on her husband after her baby was born albino.

Belvana Abeli’s daughter, Zayana Domingos, two, was born with albinism and has light skin, hair and eyes, while her parents and two other siblings are black.

The 36-year-old from Cape Town explained how her daughter regularly faces discrimination because she looks different, with strangers asking if she is adopted.

She has also been asked how one daughter has white skin and one has black skin, and she has even accused Belvana of cheating on her husband because of their daughter’s appearance.

“The reaction to her having albinism was very positive within our family, but externally there were a lot of questions,” Belvana said.

‘People have wondered if I cheated on my husband with a white man – it’s a lot to take in.

“People will ask questions about why one daughter is black and the other white, or ask if she is adopted. It’s hurtful, but people do it unconsciously.’

After suffering from Covid-19 during her pregnancy, she had to undergo an emergency caesarean section at 28 weeks.

When she saw her newborn for the first time, Belvana wondered why her baby had a different skin color and red hair.

However, after genetic testing, doctors confirmed that Zayana was born with albinism, a lifelong condition.

Initially the mother of three was unsure if there was a family history of the condition and later discovered that her grandmother’s great-uncle had albinism and also suffered from discrimination.

Zivah, five, is the oldest of the trio, while Zander, five months, is the youngest and neither has albinism.

People with albinism often suffer from vision loss due to the reduced amount of melanin in the cell layer in the eye and have a higher risk of sunburn and skin cancer.

After becoming pregnant with her third baby, Belvana was curious to see what skin color her next child would have after giving birth to an albino baby.

She consulted the doctor to see if there were tests that could be done to diagnose possible albinism.

Although she didn’t mind, Belvana wanted to minimize any possible shock.

Her eldest daughter, Zivah, starts asking questions about why her sister looks different from the rest of the family.

However, Belvana says she just thinks babies can be born black or white.

She added that Zayana is too young to question her appearance, but her mother knows the questions will be asked as she gets older.

Belvana said of her ‘miracle’ albino baby: ‘The birth of an albino baby was a surprise as albinism was not known to run in our families.

‘Doctors initially said her skin and hair would darken over time, but after a few days in hospital we were told she had albinism.

‘As time passed, her skin and eyes became lighter and lighter.

‘We already had a black daughter and were not expecting an albino baby at all.

‘Having an albino child was sometimes a challenge due to the lack of information about albinism. For example, we were told that our daughter needs a special school because albinism is a disability.

‘Sometimes we get questions about whether she is adopted.

“But it has also been a great blessing for us because it has given us the opportunity to share our story and increase knowledge about albinism.

‘When I was pregnant with my son, my daughter asked me if he would be white or black.

“My oldest is getting to the point where she’s starting to understand that Zayana is different from others in the family.

“But she is our miracle baby, and we are super lucky to have her in our lives.”

Married At First Sight’s Jonathan McCullough bravely defended Ellie Dix in Wednesday’s episode ahead of their cheating scandal.

He said: ‘I don’t understand Ben, he had a beautiful, sweet girl, I actually want to punch him… in a metaphorical sense. Like, stop ruining this great opportunity, but he definitely ruined a good thing, I would say.”

After Ben tried to defend the infamous list at the dinner, Jono added: “There were excuses, stories and revelations, I don’t buy what he’s selling at all.”

Later at the dinner, Ben shockingly broke up with Ellie in front of the entire dinner party, leaving the bride in tears after going through a rough patch as a couple.

He told Ellie: “The truth is, I don’t believe we’re meant to be together. I really believe we’re better off as friends. My apologies for wasting your time.”

Ellie was left furious that Ben hadn’t even tried to consider her feelings and insisted she didn’t want him in her life.

‘He doesn’t really know how to talk to anyone. What I have seen of Ben now is not the Ben I want in the future,” she said.

MAFS will soon be rocked by a scandal involving Ellie and Jono after they were spotted packing on the PDA on an outing after filming wrapped.

Activision, the publisher of CALL of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, has reported that players have been banned from the game en masse.

About 6,000 players have been banned over the past five days, following what the company calls “a spike in cheating within the community.”

Cheating has been reported as “rampant” in the latest Call of Duty game, Modern Warfare 3.

Players caught cheating or hacking the game will be banned for life to promote a level playing field for all.

In the notes accompanying the latest Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 patch, the team said: “The Ricochet Anti-Cheat team has been monitoring a spike in cheating within the community.

“We are currently testing for additional security updates; however, the following updates have just been deployed”

The statement then explains how game codes for temporary benefits, such as super speed, have been disabled.

The report continues: “As part of ongoing security updates, a single telemetry system was taken offline for upgrades this weekend.

“This action resulted in cheat developers claiming that Ricochet Anti-Cheat was offline. It was not.

“As a result of the monitoring activities over the weekend and the deliberate reactivation of this upgraded system, Team Ricochet was able to identify and ban more than 6,000 accounts for cheating and hacking between February 16 and 20.

“Our team continues to work on security updates for issues across modes in Call of Duty: Warzone and Modern Warfare 3.”

Users have complained that Modern Warfare 3 is “infested with blatant cheaters” as players use software to edit the game and give them an advantage.

The Call of Duty series is one of the most popular in gaming and players were devastated when the servers went down.

A retired engineer was today told he would die in prison for killing his wife, just days after confessing to an affair and a secret love child during their 53-year marriage.

Churchgoer David Clarke, 80, assaulted unsuspecting woman Helen, 77, with a hammer and then set her on fire, days after telling her 'out of spite' how he had betrayed her with a woman she had considered a friend. court ruled today.

Mrs Clarke, described as a 'loving grandmother', was left 'completely devastated' by the shocking news, which came after the couple traveled to Australia to meet his former lover and her family.

When they returned from the trip to their beautiful cottage on the Gower Peninsula, the couple argued and Mrs Clarke hit her husband with a picture frame and a cup of tea, Swansea Crown Court was told.

Four days later, the father of four – a former international pistol shooting champion – texted relatives to say: 'I love you.'

He then left with his wife for an early morning drive, saying they were going “to the beach.”

But during the journey Clarke stopped the car and hit his wife – who used a wheelchair – in the head several times with a hammer, prosecutor Michael Jones QC told today's hearing.

The retired businessman then threw paraffin on her body and set her on fire in the couple's Honda Civic.

A brave passerby tried to intervene but Clarke drove away before crashing into a hedge as flames burst from the car.

Mrs Clarke was able to tell firefighters that her husband was responsible for the attack on September 22 last year.

“He hit me twice with a sledgehammer, covered me in paraffin and set me on fire,” she said.

She was taken to hospital, where she tragically died from her injuries two days later.

When questioned in hospital about a bruise on his head, the court heard Clarke told a paramedic: 'My wife is not the forgiving kind.

'We have been married for 53 years, I had an affair 50 years ago that she only found out about a few days ago.'

Clarke later told his son on the phone about the attack from prison that he “hit her with the hammer to knock her out, but she just wouldn't come out.”

Mrs Clarke suffered extensive burns all over her body and nine head wounds as a result of the hammer blows with doctors telling her family her injuries were 'unsurvivable'.

Clarke had an affair with a friend of Ms Clarke – a woman identified only as 'L' – when the couple lived in Zambia, today's hearing was told.

He later confided the affair and his secret daughter to his son, David Clarke Junior, while living in Zimbabwe in 2003, but told him not to tell his mother.

Mr Jones said: 'He asked David Clarke Jr. to go driving with him, and during the ride the suspect started crying and told his son that he was having an affair with a woman in Zambia – a family friend called 'L'. – and he thought that affair had given him a daughter.'

The son “believed that nothing good could come from knowing his mother,” Mr. Jones said, although he did tell his own wife.

In 2023, Clarke sent a message to 'L' – who had then emigrated to Australia – despite her telling him to stop, the court heard.

He also texted pictures of 'L' to relatives, describing her as his 'soulmate' – and booked flights for him and his wife to travel Down Under

One of their stops on the trip was 'planned' by Clarke as he knew 'L' and her daughter lived in the area after becoming 'fixated in his belief that he now had other grandchildren', Mr Jones said.

“It appears that they met 'L' and her husband with Helen Clarke, completely unaware of the real reason for the defendant's meeting.”

Mr Jones said the couple were due to fly home on September 18 last year and Mr Clarke unsuccessfully begged 'L' and her daughter to invite them to the airport.

Messages exchanged on the Clarke family's WhatsApp that day made it clear he had told his wife about the historic affair, the prosecutor said.

She was “obviously and understandably devastated and angry,” he added.

“She accused the defendant of organizing the trip to 'L.'

The court heard Clarke committed the fatal attack on his wife four days later.

John Hipkin QC, defending, said Clarke had no previous convictions and may have been suffering from an 'adjustment disorder' at the time.

Judge Paul Thomas KC told Clarke, of Langland, Swansea: 'You have been an aggressive, sometimes violent husband under a veneer of apparent respectability for many years, both in Africa and recently in this area.

'Despite your profession of Christianity, your behavior in private has never matched your public image.

'Your infidelity with a woman in Africa had been hidden for about half a century, until last year you tried to rekindle an old relationship.

'You went to so much trouble to arrange a holiday to Australia with the hidden agenda of meeting a lady you had previously dated.

“When she wanted nothing to do with you, on the way home you spitefully told your wife about the affair, which of course led to an argument between you.”

Clarke was given a life sentence with a minimum of 21 years and eight months and was told he would die in prison.

“I cannot give a verdict that is likely to result in your release in due course,” the judge said.

“To coin a phrase, I can't utter a phrase here that would allow for a significant light at the end of the tunnel.”

Afterwards, Rebecca Carter, from the CPS, said: 'Helen Clarke was murdered by her husband, aged 53, in terrible circumstances.

“This has been a tragic case. Our thoughts and condolences go out to Helen's family at this difficult time.'

After the hearing, the devastated family spoke of their “unimaginable pain” since Mrs Clarke was “brutally taken from us” in what they described as a “private tragedy”.

“Our mother was a loving, kind and courageous woman who deeply cherished her family, her friends and the world at large,” they said.

“She was deeply committed to her faith, had a laugh that would set a room on fire, and had a deep appreciation for life and the beauty of the world.

'Her death in such a sudden and tragic way has been devastating; and our sorrow is immeasurable.

'The situation we find ourselves in highlights the complexity and fragility of the human mind.

'We have endured unimaginable pain since she was brutally taken from us – and our children dearly miss their grandmother, who was immensely proud of them.

“We continue to do our utmost to support and protect them as we navigate these very difficult circumstances.”

They expressed their gratitude to the public and emergency services who tried to save her from the burning car.

Chief Inspector Paul Raikes, of South Wales Police, said: “This has been a challenging investigation due to its nature and circumstances.

'To this end, I would like to express our condolences to the family of Helen Clarke and thank them for their cooperation and understanding during extremely difficult times for them.'

She told the publication: ‘I told Annie that I would keep it quiet but now that is impossible after what they have done so I have to speak out.

‘In his statement he said ‘our’ children, not all of ‘my’ children. They put this out there. Kyle had a chance here to include all of his children and didn’t.

In another cryptic post, Amelia shared: ‘It’s very rare that I speak out regarding the situation involving my family.

‘I would like to make clear that I have never and will never be involved in this situation. I do not speak to anyone associated with it either.’
