James Lock has revealed he suffers from body dysmorphia, which causes him to ‘constantly fight, compete and compare himself to others’.

The TOWIE star, 37, who has appeared on the ITVBe show since 2013, appeared on Good Morning Britain on Thursday to discuss his condition with presenters Susanna Reid and Ed Balls and Conservative MP and GP, Dr Luke Evans.

He admitted that criticism on social media led to him undergoing a number of surgical procedures – including a rhinoplasty, otoplasty (putting the ears back) and hair transplantation – as well as the use of steroids.

Although he admitted that he knows he is “a handsome man” and is “a confident man” to some extent, James admitted that he will “always find fault with himself.”

He told the trio: ‘I can sit here now and I know I look good and I’m in good shape, but I’ll still find fault… It’s a constant battle with yourself and even though you look look inside the mirror, you don’t see what other people see.’

James talked about how he can be “rational” about his problems one minute, but the next he can be at work on a photo shoot and spend the entire day criticizing himself about the way he looks.

He said: ‘I can sit here and be rational about it, but a few days ago I’m doing a shoot and what should take half an hour takes a whole day because I find fault with everything and I compare myself to my competition.

“Remember, in the shows I’ve been in, we may all be friends, but we’re all competing.”

About his surgical procedures, he said: ‘I’ve had my eyes done, my nose done, you get carried away. Something that would have taken a few hours, a few photos, now takes a full day…

‘Sometimes I’m irrational. I look good, I’m in good shape, but I’ll still find faults – whether I’m on set or even if I’m going on holiday or doing a shoot for a brand, I’ll find faults.

‘I started with a hair transplant, I had my ears done, I had my teeth done, that’s the standard for everyone these days.

‘Recently I did another TV show and got a little injured. The injuries were bad, but not as bad as what I created in my head. So I had my eyes done, my nose done. You get carried away.’

Also in the studio, James was joined by Conservative MP and GP, Dr Luke Evans, who described social media as having a contributing effect on the way people see themselves.

He said: ‘[It’s important] James comes out and talks about it because that’s part of the problem. People come out and say, ‘He looks fine, what does he have to worry about?’ And actually that’s almost the problem in itself, because everyone is chasing this goal of looking a certain way, but we can’t achieve that.

He added: ‘We know that one in three children are ashamed of their bodies and one in five adults are ashamed of their bodies, and at the extreme end people are looking to surgery, eating disorders or steroids to fix this. ..

“That’s what worries me most.”

But many viewers claimed the incidents were completely different.

Stones scored a clever corner from the quick-thinking Kevin de Bruyne at the near post in Sunday’s Premier League blockbuster.

But Sky Sports pundit Neville spotted Nathan Aké tangling with Liverpool’s Alexis Mac Allister in the center of the penalty area.

And he compared it to the most controversial talking point from the Wembley showpiece in February.

At that point, Van Dijk saw a goal cleared after Wataru Endo was ruled offside and interfered with play.

It was judged that Endo obstructed the movement of Chelsea player Levi Colwill.

And fans were left stunned when Neville compared the two moments.

One said: “Gary Neville is a real Liverpool fan these days! How is he calling for Ake to be fouled?”

Another asked why he “brought up the cup final”.

That viewer added: “Endo’s block was never a foul, but he did intervene, and therefore offside. Ake on Mac Allister is absolutely standard for everything on a single set piece, and doesn’t come close to being a foul.”

Jamie Carragher reveals absolutely savage X-rated text Gary Neville sent about Jurgen Klopp’s departure to Liverpool

A third observer wrote: “Gary Neville is all over here, comparing the block on Mac Allister to the one in the cup final, completely forgetting that the cup final was disallowed for being offside.”

A fourth wrote: “Why is Neville trying to create an ‘incident’ when Ake and Mac Allister are just leaning against each other?”

And a fifth said: “Neville really wanted a foul from Ake when it was Ake’s arm that was being held.”

But a few fans disagreed, with one insisting that Stones’ breakthrough goal ‘should have been awarded offside’.

Ironically, however, it was Mac Allister who equalized for Liverpool with a penalty after 51 minutes.

Washington told TMZ on Thursday, Feb. 22, that while she isn’t familiar with Vanderpump Rules, she wasn’t happy with Sandoval’s “stupid” reference to Floyd.

Washington, who shared 10-year-old Gianna with Floyd, pointed out that Sandoval’s comparison wasn’t reasonable because he and ex Ariana Madix are still alive. She also told TMZ that she was concerned that she and Floyd’s daughter would see statements similar to Sandoval’s.

Washington added that Sandoval should repeat that “dumb s–t” in the mirror because his comments reflect some of what Gianna has heard from her classmates.

While you’re talking to New York Times Magazine on Tuesday, February 20, Sandoval speculated about the reason for his affair with Rachel ‘Raquel’ Leviss became so big in the media. (In March 2023, news broke that Sandoval and Madix called it quits after nearly a decade of dating due to his infidelity.)

“I’m not really a pop culture historian, but I witnessed it OJ Simpson thing and George Floyd and all these big things, which is really weird to compare this to, I guess, but do you think it’s kind of the same in a weird way? Sandoval said. During a separate part of the interview, the Bravo star added, “I feel like I have more hate than Danny Masterson. And he is a convicted rapist.”

However, the backlash came quickly and Sandoval apologized. “My intentions behind the comments I made in New York Times Magazine were to explain the amount of national media attention my affair received. Do you want to save on your next holiday? Avoid booking websites and go straight to airlines and hotels to get the best deal.

That is the advice of Which?with the consumer watchdog noting that some booking websites offer poor customer service and rarely, if ever, find the cheapest prices.

Which? surveyed its members about their experiences using both comparison sites (who scour the internet for the best prices) and booking sites (which allows travelers to search for and book flights and accommodation on the same platform).

In addition, it has also conducted research into the cheapest booking methods for both flights and hotels. The findings were based on 275 flight bookings and more than 3,000 accommodation bookings.

FLIGHT BOOKING AND COMPARISON SITES

Do you want to save on your next holiday? Avoid booking websites and go straight to airlines and hotels to get the best deal. That is the advice of Welke?

Of the flight booking sites, Expedia was the highest scoring platform in the consumer watchdog's survey, with a customer score of 70 percent. Respondents gave it three stars for value for money, the ease with which flexible rates can be found, the transparency of the rates and the functionality of the site.

However, the research also found that this was the site consumers were least likely to find the cheapest flights. When which one? Expedia checked ten different air travel options on nine websites (including four booking sites and five comparison sites) and recorded the price shown for bookings one week, six weeks and six months before the departure date. Not once did Expedia manage to return the cheapest option.

Which? noted that this may be because Expedia does not offer flights from some budget airlines, such as Ryanair and Wizz Air.

Meanwhile, Opodo returned the cheapest flights more often than any other site. Which? viewed – 11 out of 30 times.

Opodo - the lowest flight booking site in the study with a customer score of just 28 percent - returned the cheapest flights more often than any other site. Which? looked at

Opodo – the lowest flight booking site in the study with a customer score of just 28 percent – returned the cheapest flights more often than any other site. Which? looked at

Conversely, Opodo received a one-star rating for customer service and a customer score of just 28 percent, making it the lowest-ranked flight booking site in the study. Difficulty reaching customer service representatives was a common complaint. One respondent said the site offers “zero customer service.”

Previous Which one? Research has also shown that although some online travel agencies (OTAs), such as Opodo, often offer the cheapest main fare, the final price will often be significantly more expensive when extras such as baggage or seat selection are added. when you book directly with the airline.

Booking direct is not only likely to prove cheaper in the long run, but also ensures you know where responsibility lies if something goes wrong, according to Which?.

To this end, the consumer champion has discovered that comparison sites can be a useful tool in finding the airline with the best price.

With a customer score of 64 percent, Google flights was the top-performing flight comparison site, with respondents awarding four stars for the site's functionality – the highest of all comparison sites rated in the study.

With a customer score of 64 percent, Google Flights was the best performing flight comparison site

With a customer score of 64 percent, Google Flights was the best performing flight comparison site

It found the cheapest flights six times out of thirty – comparable to Kayak and Cheap Flights, which each found the cheapest flights five times.

Since no flight comparison site far outperforms the others in their ability to find the cheapest flight, the consumer champion recommends checking at least a few platforms before making a booking decision.

However, it's worth remembering that comparison sites don't check which site they send you to, whether that's an airline or a booking site.

HOTELS

When which one? conducted a similar price analysis for hotel bookings, a clear winner emerged. The consumer champion compared the cost of thirty nights in ten hotels on nine different websites and found that booking direct rather than through a booking site offered the cheapest price half the time.

A young Yemeni man who went viral on social media and was dubbed ‘Tim-Houthi Chalamet’ has said he is ‘longing for martyrdom’ and warned the US and UK that they ‘face their end’ if they continue to fight the Houthis.

Rashid Al Haddad – a 19-year-old from Ibb Governorate in central Yemen – captured the attention of netizens this week by posting videos to social media of himself aboard the Galaxy Leader, a cargo ship seized by the Iran-backed rebels last year.

He quickly earned the nickname due to his likeness to Hollywood star Timothee Chalamet, with a number of users on X calling him the ‘Hot Houthi’ and commenting on how attractive they found him.

However, Rashid has also said he is a self-proclaimed ‘Red Sea pirate’, and while not a member of the Yemeni group, said he is ‘ready for sacrifice and longing for martyrdom’ while supporting the group’s actions in the region in solidarity with Palestine – even as the US re-designated the Houthis as a terror group.

He also asked his admirers to stop gushing over his looks, said he does not appreciate the comparisons with the Wonka star, and told MailOnline that above all, he supports the Palestinian cause and the actions of the Houthi rebels.

The wavy-haired TikToker posted a video of him approaching the huge Galaxy Leader vessel, that was captured by the Iran-backed group in November

Rashid Al Haddad – a 19-year-old from Ibb Governorate in central Yemen – captured the attention of netizens this week by posting videos to social media of himself aboard the Galaxy Leader, a cargo ship seized by the Iran-backed rebels last year

Social media users quickly commented on the man’s resemblance to Hollywood star Timothee Chalamet, pictured on January 7 in Los Angeles at the Golden Globe awards

Since the Hamas terror group carried out its deadly terror attack against Israel October 7, prompting the Jewish state to launch an assault on Gaza, Houthi militia have been attacking ships in the region slowing trade between Asia and Europe.

The group says its attacks are being carried out in solidarity with the Palestinian people and, in particular, those in Gaza.

But the attacks have alarmed major powers, with the US and the UK launching strikes on Houthi sites aiming to degrade their ability to attack shipping in the Red Sea.

The most recent US strikes were carried out overnight.

The Galaxy Leader, which Rashid boarded, was hijacked by at least ten armed Houthis in the Red Sea on November 19, who used a helicopter to board the vessel.

Since then, it has been moored in waters off the coast of Yemen and turned into a tourist attraction, with Yemeni often influencers parading flags on its deck.

Rashid is among those to have visited the ship since it was seized.

The wavy-haired TikToker first posted a video of himself approaching the huge Bahamas-flagged, Japan-chartered Galaxy Leader vessel in a small boat.

In another clip, he is then seen standing on the deck of the Galaxy Leader, waving the flag of Yemen, while a third clip shows him below deck, walking through a large empty space that likely once held some of the ship’s cargo.

Users online were quick to note his resemblance to Hollywood superstar Chalamet – who has had starring roles in films including Wonka, Dune, Little Women and the French Dispatch, with one netizien dubbing him ‘Tim-Houthi Chalamet’.

‘Why is Timothy Chalamet working with the Houthis?’ another joked on X.

Others commented on how attractive they found Rashid, with one writing: ‘That guy should be a model.’ Another simply wrote: ‘Shiver me timbers.’

In comments to MailOnline, Rashid said he was happy that the Galaxy Leader was hijacked, and warned the US of consequences if it continues to strike Yemen.

‘The first thing when [Houthis] took the ship, we were relieved for the sake of our brothers in Palestine,’ he said in a series of messages.

‘The ship [will remain] in the Red Sea until they lifted the siege on the Gaza Strip, and the entire Yemeni people also wanted to visit the ship.’

On his thoughts about the US-UK strikes on Yemen, Rashid said: ‘There is no problem. We are all Yemenis and they (Houthis) are Yemenis. Houthi is just a title.

‘They are my brothers and they are my relatives. We are not afraid of anything, but their war will not affect Yemen, but rather it will be their end if they play with us.’

Rashid also addressed people comparing him to Timothee Chalamet, saying that above everything else, he supports the Palestinian cause.

‘Hollywood actor Timothée Chalamet is one thing and another,’ he said.

‘I am a Yemeni Muslim. I support the Palestinian cause, and I do not think about what they say about me on social media sites.

‘My goal is for people to interact and take the side of Palestine. I will be grateful to everyone. In my opinion, I thank them all (people commenting online), but they focused on beauty and did not focus on the Palestinian issue.’

Rashid also spoke with popular American Twitch streamer Hasan Piker, who has over 2.6 million followers, on Tuesday.

Speaking through a translator, he reiterated his support for the people of Palestine, but refused to be drawn on whether or not he himself is a Houthi rebel.

Through the translator, he told Piker the ‘only motivation that they have is their solidarity with Palestine and to stop the attack on Palestine.’

He also said the US-UK strikes were ‘nothing new for Yemenis,’ pointing to the fact that the Houthi-controlled region of northern Yemen was for several years the target of an intense bombing campaign by Saudi Arabia from 2015.

‘They’re almost honoured to be targeted by the US because they are confronting the US head on and directly,’ Piker’s translator clarified.

Comments from Rashid online have given conflicting accounts on whether he himself is a soldier. While he denied it to MailOnline and to Piker, on Instagram he answered ‘yes’ when asked by a user of the social media platform if he was a soldier.

Pictures on his Instagram from last year also showed him standing on a hill overlooking fields and villages below with an AK-47 rifle slung over his shoulder.

Rashid also took to X (formerly Twitter) to ask his legion of new-found fans to stop focusing on his looks. There, he wrote: I did not talk about beauty or anything else, but our issue is Palestine, and this is not the time to talk about beauty.

‘I hope that my message will reach you, a free Palestine, and we will ignite it against the Israeli aggression that violates human rights.’

In other comments on Twitter, he wrote: ‘Ready to sacrifice, longing for martyrdom,’ along with a short clip of him aboard the Galaxy Leader.

But despite his insistence, he doesn’t appear too bothered by the attention he is getting from supporters on social media.

He has quickly amassed thousands of followers, despite his TikTok account being shut down, and has even been sent fan art.

In addition to the comparisons made between him and Chalamet, Rashid was also told by Piker about people likening him to Monkey D. Luffy, the pirate protagonist of the Japanese Manga series One Piece, which has also been adapted into a hugely popular anime series and Netflix live action show.

Rashid told Piker that he watched the anime series, but said through the translator that his focus was on supporting the people of Gaza.

He also posted a picture of himself and Chalamet on X, suggesting he could star along-side his Hollywood lookalike.

Rashid’s comments came as the US military said on Wednesday its forces conducted strikes on 14 Houthi missiles that were loaded to be fired from Yemen, in the fourth day of US strikes in less than a week.

In a statement on social media, US Central Command said the Houthi missiles presented an imminent threat to merchant vessels and US Navy ships in the region.

‘These missiles on launch rails … could have been fired at any time, prompting US forces to exercise their inherent right and obligation to defend themselves,’ it added.

‘These strikes, along with other actions we have taken, will degrade the Houthi’s capabilities to continue their reckless attacks on international and commercial shipping in the Red Sea, the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait, and the Gulf of Aden.’

Attacks by the Iran-allied Houthi militia on ships in the region since November have slowed trade between Asia and Europe and alarmed major powers. The US strikes are meant to degrade the Houthis’ ability to carry out attacks in the Red Sea.

But the Houthis, who control most of Yemen, say they are acting in solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza and have threatened to expand their attacks.

Earlier on Wednesday, US Central Command said a drone launched from areas controlled by the Houthi rebels in Yemen had struck a US-owned vessel in the Gulf of Aden. There was some damage but no injuries in the attack, it added on X.

The vessel, M/V Genco Picardy, is a Marshall Islands-flagged flagged, US-operated bulk carrier ship, it said.

The United States returned the Yemen-based Houthi rebels to a list of terrorist groups, as the militants also claimed another attack this week on a US-operated vessel in the Red Sea region.

Mark Waugh makes bizarre comment (Image:

Melbourne: Former India captain Virat Kohli is one of the best batsmen of the generation and that is why he is often the benchmark for others around the world. While Kohli is often compared to other cricketers, former Australian cricketer Mark Waugh recently made a surprising comment during the Boxing Day Test at MCG between Australia and Pakistan. Waugh, who was commentating during the match, compared Abdullah Shafique to Kohli.

“I see a bit of Virat Kohli in him with the shots he plays,” Waugh said during the broadcast.

However, Pakistan has lost the first match and Australia is also dominating the visitors in the second Test. However, half-centuries from Mitchell Marsh and Steve Smith led Australia’s charge after early wickets, with their lead rising to 241 runs at the end of day three of the second Test against Pakistan at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on Thursday.

At the end of day three, Australia were 187/6, while Alex Carey (16*) was unbeaten. Aussies started the session at 107/4, with Marsh (57*) and Smith (26*) unbeaten.

In the final session, Smith and Marsh continued to counter-attack. Australia reached the 150-run mark in 44.1 overs.

The 153-run partnership between Smith and Marsh came to an end when Marsh was caught at slip by Agha Salman, with Mir getting his third wicket. Marsh was dismissed for 96 in 130 balls, with 13 fours. Australia were 169/5.

Smith continued to build a partnership with Alex Carey. Smith reached his half-century in 153 balls, with three fours. However, he fell for 50 in 176 balls to Shaheen on the last ball of the day. The day ended on that note.

In late November 2020, Caitlin Clark shot her first three-pointer in college in a nearly empty arena. Time was ticking down in the first quarter of the Hawkeyes’ game against Northern Iowa. Clark forced a buy at center half and made his way to the right wing. She stood up with two defenders around her. Her attempt was blocked.

That didn’t discourage her.

Clark is now a senior and arguably the biggest star in both men’s and women’s college basketball. She made more than 400 3-pointers during her college career and rewrote the record book – at Iowa and nationally. “We see it every day in practice: she hits one (shot) that blows your mind, or makes one pass that makes your jaw drop,” Iowa assistant Abby Stamp said.

Clark passes with pinpoint accuracy. Teammates and coaches alike praise her work ethic and improved leadership skills. But it’s Clark’s three-point shooting that often catches viewers’ attention right away. She has been compared to some other recent greats in the basketball world – Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry, Milwaukee Bucks guard Damian Lillard and New York Liberty guard Sabrina Ionescu, to name a few. But how does Clark actually stack up against such marksmen?

Although the NBA and college three-point lines have different distances (the NBA is 23 feet, 9 inches at the top of the arc, and the college line and WNBA line are both 22 feet, 1 ¾ inches at the top), The Athletics delved into six categories to show how productive Clark really is and explain how she became so deadly from behind the arc. The comparison – use the button at the top of most charts to scroll through Clark’s numbers from last season and this year (with games through December 14) – shows how this college star already ranks as some all-time professional greats.

Clark’s comfort shooting from long range comes from years of practice. During a visit home to Des Moines, Clark often shoots 100 logo 3-pointers during practices, her trainer Kevin O’Hare said. Her goal is to earn at least 50. “It’s something she’s always been working on,” O’Hare says. He adds that before Clark makes even one attempt, she “does all the fundamental things to get to that point.” Since she tries so much from beyond 30 feet, a 25 to 30 foot 3 is very much within range.

Through Dec. 14, just over 31 percent of Clark’s shot attempts came from between 25 and 30 feet of the rim, which is 22.1 percent above this year’s national college average, according to CBB Analytics. She scores 40.5 percent on such looks, more than 11 percent more than her peers.

It is no coincidence that she photographs from such a distance, and it is no coincidence that such attempts take place. In addition to offseason workouts, Stamp says Clark works on such efforts before, during and after practice. The Iowa bigs also often set higher screens in practices when Clark has the ball, knowing she is more likely to pull up in games from such distances. In that regard, she’s similar to Curry, Lillard and Ionescu in the way their own teams adjust spacing when they’re on the floor.

Iowa coach Lisa Bluder has always had an offensive mind and implored her teams to play with pace. The setup was ideal for Clark, who likes to push the basketball and make plays before her opponents can get started. Clark has made more than 50 threes in the first ten seconds of possession this season. Last season, she nailed 137 3s above the break, shooting 39 percent on such attempts. “Sometimes she gets the best look right away when we meet half court,” Stamp said.

In these early-shot situations, Clark looks for a balancing act, avoiding forcing shots and instead figuring out when to get teammates involved and allow possession to develop. “It’s not an easy science, the shot selection question with her, because we’ve seen her make so many challenging shots in practice and throughout her career,” Stamp said. Iowa considers a good effort for all its players as one that is both in rhythm and within range. Of course, Clark’s reach is different from her peers, as is her willingness to move on the fly. She’s similar to Curry in that regard, with the Warriors star averaging 5.2 three-point attempts with 15 to 24 seconds left on the shot clock last season.

Not surprisingly, Clark is Iowa’s main creator. According to CBB Analytics, her usage rate this season is in the 100th percentile nationally, behind only USC freshman star JuJu Watkins. Clark is not only an elite shooter, but also passes with precision. As her college career has progressed, she has found new ways to finish around the rim as well. “We are so happy with the way she has developed her entire game,” Stamp said.

But from the perimeter, Clark has shown she can create her own shot and capitalize on kickouts from her teammates. Last season, she led the nation in unassisted three-pointers, making 1.8 per game. She leads the nation again this season and is also in the 98th percentile in three-pointers assisted, making 0.7 more per game. “I would compare her to Steph; Of course you take it with a grain of salt,” says O’Hare. “In how far she shoots, her release, how good she is with the ball in her hands to create things.” As the data shows, Clark, Lillard and Curry can all take advantage of assisted and unassisted opportunities. Ionescu has proven she can shoot from long range in the WNBA, but over the past three seasons she has made 0.56 unassisted 3s per game.

Clark rarely shies away from attempting a three-pointer on the catch. As a freshman at Iowa, she nailed 116 catch-and-shoot 3s, shooting 46.6 percent, according to Synergy Sports. Both her total catch-and-shoot attempts and percentage dropped as a sophomore. But throughout her tenure, the Hawkeyes’ coaching staff has continued to develop that part of Clark’s three-point arsenal. “We really worked on getting off screens, changing speed, changing direction, sprinting to the ball, getting your feet ready, getting yourself squared up so you can catch more off screens and shooting,” says Stamp.

In private practices, that meant laying out cones to mark Iowa’s big setup screens and simulating the many defensive machinations an opponent could undertake when trying to slow Clark. She is on pace to shoot more catch-and-shoot 3s this season than previously in her college career. Not surprisingly, this is an area where she is doing well, shooting a better percentage than Lillard in his final season with the Portland Trail Blazers and nearly matching Curry’s performance in 2022-2023. Clark’s current shooting percentage on catch-and-shoot 3s is also superior to Ionescu’s during her final season at Oregon, when she shot a still-impressive 34 percent on such opportunities, according to Synergy Sports.

Few, if any, players have had a greener light than Clark. With each milestone, she reinforces the fact that she has accomplished much that no other player in college has done. Still, Stamp comes up with another comparison for Clark. She cites Megan Gustafson, a former Naismith Player of the Year, who was Iowa’s all-time leading scorer until Clark passed her earlier this season. Gustafson is a 6-foot-4 post player who attempted just two threes in four years at Iowa, but she and Clark are both “masters of their craft” in Stamp’s eyes.

Last weekend, Clark moved to No. 9 all-time in career scoring in women’s basketball. If she stays healthy and maintains her current scoring average, she is on track to pass former Washington star Kelsey Plum for the No. 1 spot before the end of the season. Whether Clark then decides to go to the WNBA or return for a fifth year returning to Iowa remains uncertain, but her success has already put her in conversations with basketball’s elite.

A prominent SBS World News presenter has sparked outrage after sharing an excerpt from a film review comparing the people of Gaza to the victims of Nazi concentration camps.

Mary Kostakidis, considered the face of public broadcasting for 20 years, shared an excerpt from American journalist Steven Thrasher’s review of the recent film The Zone of Interest, which shows a family of German Nazis living blissfully next to lives in the Auschwitz concentration camp. during the Second World War.

In his piece, written for the pro-Palestinian news site Mondoweiss, Thrasher questioned whether Hamas’s October 7 attack on Israel was understandable.

“The Zone of Interest,” about a family of Nazis living right up against the walls of Auschwitz, is the most relevant movie in the world right now,” Kostakidis tweeted, as Thrasher wrote in his op-ed.

Former SBS World News presenter Mary Kostakidis has sparked outrage after sharing a clip comparing the people of Gaza to the victims of Nazi concentration camps

“If the Jews who were shot and shoveled into ovens could just break through that wall, of course they would kill whoever they found partying on the other side of the wall!

‘And of course they would take women and children hostage and drag them back to their inner hell, if that would give them any power to free their fellow Jews from torture and death!

Naturally, this thought set in motion an obvious but taboo moral question in my mind about one of the most pressing issues of our time: is it understandable why people in Gaza, similarly imprisoned behind a wall in a concentration camp and experience genocide? ., would kill or take hostage people they found on the other side of the wall while they were holding them back?’

Kostakidis immediately faced a barrage of criticism after sharing Thrasher’s opinion on her Twitter account on Saturday.

Many labeled the journalist ‘anti-Semitic’ and wondered how a comparison of Gaza with the infamous Auschwitz labor camp could be made.

Others also accused the tweet of minimizing the atrocities that have taken place in the conflict between Palestine and Israel, including the shocking killings of children.

‘Mary, are you seriously comparing Auschwitz to Gaza?! “I’m not even Jewish and even I find your tweets tasteless, offensive and without any form of accurate historical comparison,” one person replied.

‘Wow. Disgusting and disgraceful. Anti-Semitism cloaked in a deliberate misrepresentation of the truth. You really need to retract this and apologize,” said another.

“Mary, it is incredibly disappointing to see a prominent and influential Australian attempt to justify the use of murder and kidnapping,” one tweet said.

“Man, I’m not an Israel fanboy, but this is honestly one of the worst comparisons I’ve ever seen,” wrote another.

‘An absolutely diabolical post. You should be completely ashamed. Shame shame shame!’

Others pointed to reports of the Nova Festival massacre, in which hundreds were killed by Hamas terrorists, and some victims were said to have been raped.

Kostakidis presented the nightly news for SBS for twenty years before leaving the network in 2007.

She was the first woman to present a national prime time news bulletin.
