Travis Kelce's charity, Eighty-Seven Running, donated $100,000 to a family affected by the mass shooting at the Super Bowl parade.

The organization, which provides opportunities to underprivileged youth, has made two $50,000 donations to the Reyes family GoFundMe page. The fundraiser was organized after their two daughters were shot during the Kansas City Chiefs' Super Bowl victory parade on Wednesday, February 14.

“The girls were celebrating with many members of their family when they were senselessly injured. We ask that you continue to keep the family in your prayers as the girls work on their recovery,” the fundraiser description reads. “This fund will provide vital financial support for their physical and mental recovery; any remaining funds will be kept for their college funds. All the money is deposited into a bank account that has been opened especially for the girls. Any amount is appreciated.”

Thanks to Kelce's donation, the page surpassed its $100,000 goal, raising more than $175,000 as of Friday, February 16.

In addition to a donation from Kelce, 34, the girls also received a special visit at the hospital. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife, Brittany Mahomes, spent some time with the girls during their recovery at Children's Mercy Kansas City. The family thanked the couple “for their outpouring [of] care, love and support” and said the children had undergone successful surgeries.

“While we are relieved by their progress, the emotional healing continues for all of us,” the Reyes family said in a statement. Kelce and the Mahomes family aren't the only ones who have taken the time to provide help to those struggling in the wake of the tragedy. Kelce's girlfriend, Taylor Swiftdonated a total of $100,000 to the family of Lisa Lopez-Galvan, the 44-year-old radio DJ from Kansas City who died after being shot at the event. Swift split her donation into two $50,000 payments.

“I send my deepest sympathies and condolences in the wake of your devastating loss. With love, Taylor Swift,” the singer, 34, wrote on the GoFundMe page with a goal of $75,000.

Swift's generosity helped the family surpass its $75,000 goal. The Lopez-Galvan family received more than $314,000 on Friday.

Nearly a million fans gathered at Union Station in Kansas City on Wednesday to celebrate the Chiefs' recent Super Bowl victory against the San Francisco 49ers. After the rally game ended, several shots were fired.

At a news conference later that day, officials confirmed one death and at least 20 injuries, with nine children between the ages of six and 15 being treated for gunshot wounds at Children's Mercy Hospital. We weekly confirmed that the twelve injured minors are all expected to make a full recovery. On Friday, two juveniles were charged in connection with the mass shooting.

“She leaves behind two children and her husband is 22 years old.

“This fund will provide vital financial support to her family as they cope with this unthinkable tragedy.”

It has already raised more than $175,000 (£140,000).

Among the 22 fans, more than ten children were injured in the shooting.

Eight victims suffered life-threatening injuries.

Two teenagers have been arrested but not charged.

Though Warner fell when Australia were 11 short of the target after being trapped lbw by off-spinner Sajid Khan, the left-handed batter had done enough to ensure a comfortable win, getting a standing ovation from the crowd and end his Test career on a high as Australia achieved a 3-0 series sweep over Pakistan.

Serena Williams gets into the spirit of giving an unconventional gift to fellow parents this holiday season.

“I’m really excited to donate some breast milk left over from my trip in New York to people who really need it,” Williams, 42, said in a video shared via Instagram on Wednesday, Dec. 20, when the camera showed the inside of a refrigerator filled with milk. “It will be anonymous, but super excited to help in some way.”

Williams explained in her caption that after going through a screening, she was “able to donate it instead of taking the milk home.”

“I know so many wonderful women who are adopting or failing to make milk,” she continued. “It felt great. Besides, someone out there is getting some super soldier milk.

Williams and husband Alexis Ohanian welcomed daughter Adira in August. The couple also share daughter Olympia, now 6.

Williams recently shared that she has found alternative ways to use her breast milk.

“Okay, is this totally weird???” she captioned a TikTok video earlier this month. “I have to say that after a week of using MY breast milk under my eye – it worked! I’m eager to hear your thoughts. Be nice lol.”

In the clip, Williams appeared to complete her skincare routine as she explained that she was “completely burned” under her eye.

“I put this retinol and cleaned my skin,” she said. “I have sensitive skin, so I lay in the sun. Long story. Anyway, I’ll try some breast milk.’

Williams then poured her breast milk onto a cloth and dabbed it under her eye, noting that the method “works for my child.”

“They say to put breast milk on everything, and I have a lot of extra, so I’m going to try it under my eye for a week or so and see how it goes,” she said, adding that “it already feels better because, like, it hurts.”

Adjusting to life as a mother of two comes with a number of challenges. Last month, Williams candidly shared her struggles, adding that it’s “OK not to be OK.”

“No one is okay every day,” she wrote via X (formerly Twitter). “If you’re not well today, I’ll be with you. There is always tomorrow. Love you.”

Williams then shared a selfie cuddling with her youngest daughter in a subsequent post. “This makes me so happy,” she wrote via X.

A teen influencer who was bullied at school has been praised for donating £200,000 to charity after writing a book about his experiences as an autist.

Charlie Baker from Leyland, Lancashire has become a best-selling author at the age of 16 after his first book, Charlie Baker: Autism And Me, became a success after hitting shelves last year.

The teen, who has more than 589,000 Instagram followers, revealed that he had been bullied since he was five years old and was not officially diagnosed with autism until he was about six years old.

In his book, he wrote, “I was bullied a lot until the end of elementary school and all through high school.

‘I was bullied for years, and that affects you much more, you think. People think that words are just words and never think about how they can influence someone.

“You really never know what someone is going through and one comment, which may seem stupid to you, can really touch them! I am very thankful and thankful for the voice and platform I have today!”

Charlie felt compelled to write the book to encourage more people to speak out about their autism struggles.

Charlie revealed that he was also inspired by Christine McGuinness, who discovered she was autistic at the age of 33.

Speaking to FEMAIL, Charlie said, “I wrote my books to help people and make them feel like they’re not alone, because they really aren’t and I’m just now realizing that.

“With my book, we did just that. A man contacted my team through my platforms and left a review of how much my books had helped him. I will take that review to the grave, it touched me so much.

“This man said he had just been diagnosed with autism. He said my book was the book that saved his life. This man was suicidal, but because autism was portrayed as “normal” in my book, he felt normal. Being neurodiverse is nothing at all to be ashamed of.’

The social media star offered advice to others who are currently dealing with bullying themselves.

He said, “Don’t deal with it alone. Tell someone, they can help. My posts are always open to anyone suffering from any form of bullying or mental health issues.

“Bullies just bully people because they see something in you that they don’t see in themselves. Bullies are jealous.”

Charlie said the best thing about autism is “being different” since so many others are just trying to mimic each other.

He said, ‘People always try to be the same as others, I think, why? Why would you want to be the same as someone else?

“I love, love, love being different and I wouldn’t change it for the world, and neither would you! Being different is good. Not bad.’

Charlie added, “All proceeds from all my books go to charities that help people struggling with autism, so I don’t make any money from my books. So far we have raised over £200,000 for charities worldwide.

‘My books have reached people as far as Dubai, UAE and even an Australian cricketer has read my book!!

“I’m doing it to raise awareness of autism, not for financial gain. I did this while I was still in full-time education.

“I want to use my platform and my name to help people and encourage more people to speak out about their autism struggles.”

The teen is currently writing another book but this one is a different read and he urged his followers to keep an eye on his Instagram page. @charliemichaelbaker for updates.

Chuku’s, a Nigerian tapas restaurant in Tottenham run by brother and sister Emeka and Ifeyinwa Frederik, was one of 10 winners to receive a grant from music superstar 41 this month.

As part of her incredible Renaissance World Tour, BeyGOOD, the Halo hitmaker’s foundation, had pledged to donate a share of $1 million (£806,000) to ten companies in cities around the world.

They include Atlanta, New Orleans, Chicago and London – where Bey (worth an estimated £420 million) took the stage five times in May and June, performing at the nearby Tottenham Hotspur stadium.

While Chuku’s has built an impressive following since opening in 2020, they faced tough times after launching during the pandemic, including struggling with the cost of rising utility bills.

At the end of last year, the restaurant set itself a huge challenge to get 600 bookings in six weeks. And impressively, they managed to get their hands on a whopping 801.

Emeka and Ifeyinwa faced a wealth of support from the local community, A-list celebrities and footballers eager to sample Chuku’s unique take on traditional Nigerian dishes.

And now they’ve received an extra boost from the Beyonce Foundation, with the grant awarded at The Black Parade Small Business Impact Luncheon, created by BeyGOOD to “celebrate people, communities and small businesses impacted by economic inequality worldwide.” ‘.

The luncheon was held at the Four Seasons in Tower Hill, where 100 entrepreneurs gathered for the chance to win $100,000 (£806,090) in prizes.

“We had already felt her impact when she was in town and concertgoers chose Chuku’s for their pre-gig meal, but this is a whole other level.”
