A football boy has admitted attacking Newcastle goalkeeper Martin Dubravka after running onto the pitch at Stamford Bridge.

Jordan Chidley left the stands during the League Cup quarter-final after Mykhailo Mudryk scored the equalizer.

As the game was about to go to penalties, the 25-year-old lunged at Dubravka, deliberately bumping into him.

Chidley also goaded the Slovakian goalkeeper during the December 19 match.

After being arrested, the loser blamed his behavior on 'over-exuberant celebrations' after the Blues scored in the final minutes.

Chidley avoided jail after pleading guilty to assault by beating at Westminster Magistrates' Court.

He was banned from football for three years and ordered to pay £1,215.

The court was told Dubravka had not made a statement and “doesn't appear to be overly concerned”.

Prosecutor Malachy Pakenham said Chidley climbed onto the pitch and targeted the Newcastle goalkeeper.

He added: “The steward tries to grab him, he then reaches out and grabs and touches the goalkeeper who pulls away from him.”

According to the prosecutor, the contact was 'fairly minimal'.

Footage showed Chidley also pointing in the goal-stopper's face before running away.

His defense said the supporter is “not a football hooligan” and that this was a “one-off incident”.

At sentencing, the judge said: “When I sentence you, I am not only thinking about the crime that was committed, but I also want to send a message to deter other people from doing something similar.”
