James Martin has lifted the lid on his incredible car collection, which is worth more than £5million and includes a classic Ferrari and Colin McRae rally car.

The 51-year-old TV chef, who recently stepped out with his new girlfriend Kim Johnson, is known as a petrolhead and has a huge collection of vehicles.

After starting out as a chef, James has become a household name after hosting both Saturday Kitchen and Saturday Morning.

But James is not only known for his skills in the kitchen, but also for his love of cars, which he keeps in a garage at his home in Hampshire.

The quaint car village is haunted by beautiful hand-painted garages, which he showed off during a 2022 appearance on Jodie Kidd’s show, Kidd in a Sweet Shop.

It is thought that James first fell in love with motorcycles when he was given a toy Ferrari 288 GTO as a young boy.

James now owns a real Ferrari, the 1965 275 model in silver, which underwent a major restoration, including the installation of a new engine.

James admits he still gets behind the wheel to take it for a spin, describing the classic supercar as ‘absolutely incredible’.

The car has also undergone a lot of restoration work, including the installation of a new roll-off engine.

Elsewhere in his collection is a beautiful Ford GT40, which he collaborated with three-time British touring car champion Jason Plato.

It even won the Whitsun Trophy at Goodwood Revival and competed in hill climbing in Switzerland.

James said: “It’s a great piece of kit. Not until you turn it on and until you drive it, there is nothing like it on the road. No.

“There’s nothing like this on the road. Nothing. The dealer said ‘here we go’, and I said ‘done, sold’. I’d never driven it before.’

Another in his collection is a Ford Escort that finished second in the 1969 Acropolis Rally.

He also owns a rare Mini Cooper previously driven by British world rally star Paddy Hopkirk and Rauno Aaltonen.

Another vehicle he drives a lot is this BMW 760Li, which singer Jay Kay told him to buy.

James said: ‘A lot of people buy RSA Audis and stuff like that, but the 760Li is absolutely mega – V12, 700bhp… Mega.’

James also owns an Alfa Romeo ATL which is currently being restored.

The video of James’ car collection comes after his split of 12 years from girlfriend Louise Davies was revealed.

The celebrity chef, 51, and the TV producer, 47, first started dating in 2011 after meeting on the set of Celebrity Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?

But a spokesperson for James confirmed they split in December 2023 and remain close friends.

It comes as James was seen browsing watches with personal trainer Kim Johnson in Mayfair on Saturday.

James cut a casual figure for the outing as he wore a black vest over a light blue shirt and dark blue jeans.

Personal trainer Kim, 38, dressed up in a black sweater and navy jacket for the outing, teaming it with a leather miniskirt.

Kim is the ex-wife of businessman Arun Nayar, who was married to actress Elizabeth Hurley from 2007 to 2011.

Their breakup was made public after it was discovered she had a romance with cricketer Shane Warne after the split.

It means the teen wonder, who is dating TikTok sensation Estelle Ogilvy, is worth a whopping £1,076,993 on paper.

The company, formerly known as Oliver Bearman Racing Ltd, is channeling its F1 revenue and this week filed its accounts to Companies House until June 30, 2023.

OBR Management was founded in June 2020 and was previously known as Ollie Bearman Racing Ltd.

Oliver – who joined the Ferrari academy at the age of 16 – is one of three directors of the company, along with his father, David, 45.

And a source said: “Oliver has burst onto the scene and will add millions to his income in the coming years.

“He is very marketable and likeable, so companies will want to be associated with him.

Bearman, who was cheered on by his father, was called up as a replacement for Carlos Sainz, who had appendicitis.

Sainz underwent surgery in Jeddah and was unable to take part in qualifying or the race, giving Essex-born Bearman his big chance.

And the young Ferrari driver is now set to be signed by Haas for next season as part of their partnership with the Italian team.

Bearman, who will also participate in the Australian GP if Sainz is not found fit, will otherwise resume in Formula 2 this season.

However, he has already impressed Ferrari-bound Lewis Hamilton, who will join the Italian team next season.

Hamilton said: “First of all, the Ferrari is very strong, obviously it is closest to the Red Bulls.

But to be taken out of your class and put straight into a Ferrari – a top team – and have to go straight to training without long runs and things like that, he did such a phenomenal job this weekend.

“But if you have the speed and the talent, then it’s a race car again.

He clearly had the confidence from the start and pushed the car to its limits.

“I respect him for the work he has done and expect to see him on the grid next year or the year after.”

Meanwhile, Ferrari boss Fred Vasseur was more cautious about overhyping the teenager.

He added: “The best way to help him is not to jump to a conclusion, we have to take it slow.

“He will get another chance to drive FP1 during the season, to test the car, and we will do that in the right way.

“The main focus this season is and remains F2, where he has a huge challenge that I will keep in mind.”

Asked whether Sainz would be fit enough to race in Melbourne in two weeks, he said: “It was a strange situation, we thought it was food poisoning.

“He struggled a lot with fever and stomach problems on Thursday and was ultimately convinced that he would be much better the next day.

“He was in hospital and it was very clear that we were not going in the right direction. Thanks to the hospital in Jeddah and everyone from the organization, they performed the operation and he was completely fine.

“He is in pain and has difficulty walking, but the recovery is enormous.

Now we have to concentrate on Melbourne, he has to rest well this week and we will see next week.”

ESSEX boy Oliver Bearman has become Britain’s newest (and youngest) F1 star after making his debut for Ferrari.

The 18-year-old, who only passed his driving test in May, was called up as an eleventh-hour replacement for Carlos Sainz, who had appendicitis.

The Spaniard was taken to hospital, where he underwent surgery and is said to be recovering well.

Bearman had just an hour of practice to get up to speed with the Ferrari before qualifying for Saturday’s Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.

And he defied all expectations with a brilliant performance to finish 11th on the grid, just 0.036 seconds after knocking Lewis Hamilton out of qualifying.

Bearman made the smallest mistake in turns 22 and 23, otherwise he would have thrown Hamilton out from the second qualifying session.

He was cheered on by his father, David, who watched in the Ferrari garage and winced as his son brushed the walls at high speed and bounced off the curb.

And he revealed he was in the dark about his incredible call until the eleventh hour.

Bearman said: “I woke up this morning fully prepared for my F2 race and got the call late in the day, just a few hours before FP3, that I was going to do it.

“This is not the circumstance in which I would want to make my F1 debut. I wish Carlos the best and I hope he recovers well, but this is a great opportunity.

“I honestly didn’t have time to get nervous because I didn’t have time and it was so late that I had to get ready to go on track and make up for lost time.

“That made my life a little bit harder and I was all over it with the engineers trying to figure out everything to get up to speed as quickly as possible.

Bearman drove for the Haas F1 team during training in Mexico City and Abu Dhabi last season.

Raised in Chelmsford and educated at King Edward VI Grammar, he joined the Ferrari driver academy at just 16.

He dropped out of school – against his mother’s request – and moved to Modena, near Ferrari’s headquarters in northern Italy.

He previously won the Italian Formula 4 and German Formula 4 titles, both in 2021.

Last year he finished sixth in the Formula 2 championship and on Thursday he qualified on pole for the F2 race here in Saudi Arabia.

However, he will now leave his F2 commitments for this weekend after being promoted to replace Sainz.

Bearman is the first Briton to drive for F1’s most famous team since Nigel Mansell in 1990.

He added: “I honestly haven’t spoken to anyone since the announcement, my phone isn’t working but I will try to speak to my mum tonight.

“I think my father was in the garage, but I didn’t see him at all. I was in the car and then in the garage and back in the car.

“It’s such a rapid progression in my career. Two years ago I was still in F4 and I only did my first F1 test three or four months ago.

“So it’s been rapid progress. And to make my F1 debut in red, hopefully this is a sign of things to come.”

Meanwhile, Max Verstappen took a routine pole as no one could match his pace on the street circuit in Jeddah.

He put aside the internal conflict between his father Jos and team boss Christian Horner.

And in the latest development in the ongoing saga, Red Bull’s motorsport advisor Helmut Marko could now face disciplinary action.

The 80-year-old is believed to be under investigation for his role in the internal investigation.

He was also given strict instructions not to speak to the media, but in an interview with Austrian broadcaster ORF he said he could now miss the next race in Australia.

It is yet another sensational development and should he be found guilty of disclosing confidential information, he could face disciplinary action.

Should he be fired, there is suspicion in the paddock that this could lead to a clause in the Dutchman’s contract, clearing the way for him to break his contract with Red Bull and join Mercedes to close.

FERRARI driver Charles Leclerc has shown his musical talent on piano by releasing four new songs.

Leclerc shared his artistic work during the winter break with French pianist Sofiane Pamart, a long-term friend.

The 26-year-old has taken his love for music and released a four-song Extended Play on Spotify with Pamart.

The pair called the EP 'Dreamers' with songs called 'Focus', 'Heartbeat', 'Limitless' and 'The Dream Continues'.

In a message on his Instagram storyLeclerc announced the exciting news, giving fans just a 12-hour warning to prepare for Monegasque's sweet, mellow tunes.

He told the shocking news to Mercedes boss Toto Wolff last month during a breakfast at the Austrian's home in Oxford.

Hamilton, 39, will now end his contract with Mercedes and says he is still committed to helping them get back on the top step of the podium.

Hamilton said at Silverstone ahead of the team's shakedown with teammate George Russell: 'It was obviously emotional.

“It's very surreal to be here. I came here in 2013, 11 years with the team, this is the start of my 12th.

“The focus throughout winter training is on getting the team back to where we once were.

“We have had a number of difficult years, which have really formed a basis for us.

“It's a privilege to work with people and see the work they are doing this winter.

“This is the most exciting part of the year. To know everything under the hood, what George and I will be able to experience on the track. It's exciting.”

Mercedes unveiled their 2024 challenger on Wednesday, with Wolff admitting they “have a mountain to climb”.

Hamilton and Russell took part in a special filming day to give the W15 car its first test drive on the Silverstone circuit.

It comes after the team has won just one race in the past two years as Red Bull's Max Verstappen has dominated the sport.

After designing two blind cars, Wolff is now hopeful that their latest creation will put them back on the top step of the podium.

He said: “We know we have a mountain to climb to fight right at the front. There are no miracles in this sport.

“But our ambition and determination are strong. Since we set out this new course, development has made good progress.

“We had several items on our priority list for this car. We will soon see whether we have taken the step we had in mind.

'As the saying goes, if it stings, it sticks. I believe that the last two years have been necessary to adjust, recalibrate and reinvent ourselves in certain areas.

“That carrot-and-branch approach is never easy. But we have made progress and look forward to taking the next step with the W15. It won't be a linear path, but if we stumble, we will get back up and keep climbing.”

The season starts in two weeks in Bahrain, which will be Hamilton's last before he makes the switch to Ferrari.

Unlike their rivals who made their drivers all immediately available, Mercedes opted for a digital-only launch, meaning Wolff and their drivers were unavailable for questions.

Their focus was therefore solely on the recovery and the team's ambitions for this season.

In an otherwise dull press release, Hamilton is quoted as saying: 'The lessons of the past two years have helped us find our direction.

“It has allowed us to find our north star. It will still be a work in progress, but we will face the challenges that arise with our heads held high and an open mind and work on them diligently.”

Russell said: “We have learned and grown as a team over the last two seasons.

“It hasn't been smooth sailing, but I truly believe the journey we have been on will make us stronger in the long run.
