Wright defended the draw while explaining his side of the matter

The Red Devils played Championship side Coventry, while holders Manchester City were paired with Chelsea.

But the manner of the draw sent many fans into a frenzy as Wright selected the balls in front of Roy Keane and Graeme Souness in the studio.

They remained seated as Wright rummaged around in the famous velvet bag before showing the numbers to the camera.

And the viewers were not told in advance which song belonged to which team.

The casual atmosphere was a far cry from most draws, which usually take place in a much more formal setting.

Teams were also drawn directly from the bag rather than first being placed in a hat as is traditionally the case.

And Manchester United legend Neville spoke about the bizarre format when speaking to Arsenal icon Wright during the latest edition of Stick to football.

He said: “That didn’t feel right at the end, you pulled it out like a Marks and Spencer bag.”

Lioness legend Jill Scott then wondered why “nobody laughed” about Wright’s comment about shaking his “ball sack.”

Before the ex-Gunners man replied: “Do you know how many people went crazy over that?

Man Utd legend Roy Keane agrees with Gary Neville on how much he would be worth in the current transfer market

“It’s only four balls. I think people were a bit upset about the fact that we didn’t know who was one, two, three and four.

“But the most important thing is that they are so strict on ‘don’t look in the bag, make sure the bag is closed properly before you open it so you don’t look’.

“People end up saying, ‘What’s he doing the Stevie Wonder for?’ I wasn’t doing Stevie Wonder, I was just making sure I wasn’t looking in so much [moves his head away] and it looked like Stevie Wonder.

“But I didn’t want people to say, ‘Ah, that draw was wrong.’

“People still slaughtered you, but I thought it was a great draw.”

There is no evidence that claims the draw has been fixed.

Gov. Kathy Hochul has ordered New York officials to fix the way the state licenses cannabis businesses, amid widespread frustration over the sluggish pace of the state’s legal cannabis rollout and the explosion of unlicensed dispensaries.

The governor has ordered a major overhaul of the state’s licensing bureaucracy, set to begin Monday — weeks after she announced the rollout.a disasterand canceled a meeting of the Cannabis Control Board when she learned the agency was willing to hand out only a few licenses.

The main goal of the review, which will be conducted by Office of General Services commissioner Jeanette Moy, is to shorten the time it takes to process applications and get businesses open, officials said.

The state Office of Cannabis Management, which recommends applicants to the board for final approval, received 7,000 applications for licenses last fall from companies looking to open dispensaries, grow cannabis and produce products. But regulators have awarded only 109 so far this year. The agency has assigned only 32 people to review the applications.

Ms. Moy has “a proven track record of improving government operations,” the governor said in a statement, and will provide a playbook to turn around the cannabis management office “and jump-start the next phase of New York’s legal cannabis market York.”

In an interview, Ms. Moy said her goal was to work with the cannabis management agency “to identify ways that we can support them in streamlining and moving forward some of the backlogs and challenges that this sector may face. ”

The two-year-old agency, whose executive director is Chris Alexander, an activist attorney who helped draft the state’s marijuana legalization law, is facing mounting lawsuits and criticism of its licensing process. Applicants have filed lawsuits accusing the agency of overstepping its authority. provide conflicting guidelines And discriminatory against white men in its pursuit of diversity.

Mr. Alexander acknowledged that his agency could do more to improve the licensing experience and said he believed Ms. Moy “would help us get to where we need to be.”

Lauren Rudick, an attorney who has helped clients file more than 100 permit applications, said she welcomed the review and hoped it would create a transparent process for submitting applications and resolving issues along the way occur.

She said the licensing process was inconsistent in terms of guidelines and communication with applicants and there was no process to resolve conflicts. She has watched in frustration as customers who took painstaking steps to do everything right were passed over for licenses that went to people who cut corners and seemed to benefit from personal relationships with agency officials, she said.

“We want to have a system that is repeatable and predictable so that when someone comes to us for licensing, we can give them an idea of what to expect,” she said. “But from now on it’s ‘be flexible and pivot or die’ because we just never know what the state is going to throw at us.”

The rollout has been delayed for months by lawsuits, the state’s months-long regulatory process and the state’s inability to provide the seed loans and real estate it promised to the first 150 pharmacies. The hiccups have left some companies in financial distress and undermined efforts to use a $5 billion industry to help small businesses and rebuild communities hit by the war on drugs.

Although officials have issued about 500 licenses for dispensaries since November 2022, only 85 legal stores have opened across the state. Only ten of these pharmacies have received government real estate and financial support. The number of stores far exceeds that of their unlicensed competitors, of which more than 1,500 are located in New York City alone.

The rogue stores have defied orders to close, causing confusion among consumers and raising fears that they were selling unsafe products to adults and children. Their rapid spread has fueled frustration over the state’s slower approach to opening stores.

A top official at the cannabis management agency was placed on administrative leave last week after a processing plant owner accused him of taking revenge on her for speaking out in a report published by New York Cannabis Insider. The complaint against the official, Damian Fagon, the agency’s chief equity officer, was referred to the state inspector general’s office for investigation.

Mr. Fagon declined a telephone request for comment on Sunday. In his role, Mr. Fagon oversees the state’s efforts to achieve the social and economic equality goals set out in the Legalization Act, which aims to have half of all permits go to people who harm experiencing the anti-cannabis policy; women; racial and ethnic minorities; distressed farmers; and disabled veterans.

His accuser, Jenny Argie, said in an interview that Mr. Fagon retaliated against her company, Jenny’s Baked at Home, after New York Cannabis Insider published parts of a conversation with him about the state’s inability to punish bad actors, that she had recorded. A month after the article was published, her products were recalled — a first for the state — and her business was temporarily closed, she said.

Ms. Argie, one of hundreds of entrepreneurs who joined the state’s cannabis program after the hemp industry went bankrupt, said the state’s recent actions have left her without money to run her business and destroyed her reputation.

“What kind of government office are we running here?” she asked, adding, “I hope that eyes will be on this – that if they can get rid of these people, we can start over and solve the problem.”

Annette Fernandez, a legalization activist and managing partner of High Exposure Agency, a cannabis business development firm, said the retaliation claim was concerning because it could have a chilling effect on the industry’s willingness to provide feedback to regulators. She defended Mr. Fagon, saying sidelining him would distract from the state’s plan for equality, the goal legalization activists had fought hardest for.

“Regardless of his hubris,” she said, “he is still the greatest advocate for equality.”

Despite repeated complaints, he says Medway Council has told him they cannot afford to install drainage and he now fears his van will be written off as a result.

Andy, from Upper Halling, near Rochester, told the story KentOnline: “It’s not a pothole. It’s at least 100 meters long and covers the entire road.

“It is unacceptable that the condition of the road becomes this way.”

Andy says the watery ordeal along Pilgrims Road has been going on for “two to four years”.

The rolling fields and existing drainage system mean that the potholed road just off the A228 is completely flooded in winter.

Cars try to drive through the muddy depths, but the water rises up to the bumpers.

Andy says he can only charge through the lake-like puddle with his van, but he’s afraid he’ll damage it.

FAST HELL

If you have fully comprehensive car insurance, you may be able to make a claim for damage to your vehicle caused by flooding, as long as you have taken every precaution to protect your car.

You may not get coverage if you decide to take a risk and drive your car during flooding.

Most insurers categorize flood damage as avoidable or unavoidable.

Avoidable damage can be classified as someone driving in flood water because you never know how deep it is.

For example, two inches of water is enough to reach the bottom of most cars, potentially causing loss of control and stalling.

Cars can float in as little as 12 inches of water, while 2 feet of water is enough to tow most cars away.

Unavoidable flood damage can be classified as flood damage to your car when it is parked in its usual place, such as at home.

Source: Admiral

He added: “My daughter and wife can’t do that though because they’re afraid of what it will do to their cars.”

In addition to good drainage, Andy wants the road to be raised, but says the council has told him this is not financially feasible given how small the road is.

The saga has left the joiner wondering where his massive £3,500-a-year council tax bill is going.

Medway Council was contacted for comment.

Despite repeated complaints, he says Medway Council has told him they cannot afford to install drainage

APPLE’s iOS 17 update was rolled out to handsets last year and continues to bring sparkling new feature additions.

But there are two new Settings features that can quietly kill your battery.

1

If you want to protect your battery life, don’t put widgets on your lock screenCredit: Reuters

iOS 17.4 is the latest version of the update, which is packed with surprising new features – as it was expected to be a mid-range update between iOS 17 and the highly anticipated iOS 18.

Apple decided to wow customers mid-year with a host of new features, including a nifty new battery saving setting, lock screen widgets, and new vibrations when using the keyboard.

However, the last pair of features was mentioned by CNET as being the two most important ones to disable if you’re trying to save your iPhone’s battery.

Remove lock screen widgets

When widgets are on your lock screen, the apps they belong to automatically run in the background.

This means that they are constantly collecting data behind the scenes to update the display information.

If you want to protect your battery life, don’t put widgets on your lock screen.

And if you really want to extend battery life, delete the apps on your home screen as well.

To remove widgets from your lock screen, long press the screen and click To adjust > Lock screen > tap the widget box and press minus (-) icon to delete them.

To do this on your home screen, simply long-press on the widget and tap Remote Widget.

Battery Tip: The ‘100% Myth’ That Drains Your Battery

Disable keyboard vibration

The iPhone keyboard has never had the ability to vibrate, so you probably don’t need it now.

The vibration is known as haptic feedback and was introduced with iOS 17 late last year.

All it does is give a little buzz when you type.

According to an apple support pagehaptic feedback “can affect your iPhone’s battery life.”

That’s probably why Apple left it up to you to enable it yourself.

If you want to disable it, just go to Institutions > Sounds and haptics > Keyboard feedback and switch off Haptic.

A FAMILY have told how they saved £7,000 and increased their state pension by £3,000 with a tip from Martin Lewis. Here’s how you can do that too.

The simple trick is to transfer the National Insurance (NI) credits you earn when claiming child benefit.

1

If you claim child benefit you will also earn NI points, which you may need to receive the full state pension.Credit: Not known, clearly with photo agency

Writing to MoneySavingExpert.com, David said: “My wife has a low-paid job so she doesn’t contribute to NI, leaving her state pension with a ten-year gap.

“We had been thinking about making voluntary contributions, but then I read your child support article and realized as I was claiming it that I could transfer all child support credits to my wife.

‘She got ten years of free NI credits, which would have cost us around £7,000.

‘An enormous burden on our minds. Thank you.’

Martin Lewis added: “And that would probably increase her state pension by about £3,000 a year.”

It comes after the Consumer Champion reported that around 200,000 people are losing out because the wrong partner is claiming child benefit.

Martin said: “HMRC says 200,000 parents are losing out because they are claiming child benefit in the wrong partner’s name.

“Only one parent named on the child benefit application form can get the NI years (which you need to qualify for the full state pension).

“Often it has to be the lower earning member of the couple who applies, as if you earn, or ever earn, less than £123 a week, you will get NI credit that you would not otherwise have, potentially boosting your future state pension, which can rise to £10,000 over the years.

“You can fill out a form to transfer the credits to the lower earner.”

From €450 tax reduction to changes in child benefit, what the budget means for YOUR finances

What is child benefit?

Child benefit is paid to parents to help with childcare costs.

Payments are usually made every four weeks, and if you claim child benefit, you will also receive national insurance contributions that count towards your state pension.

Currently, parents can claim £24 per week for their first or only child: £96 per month and £1,248 per year.

But from April, the rate for your eldest or only child will increase to €25.60 per week – which works out to around €102.40 per month or €1,334.86 per year.

For any additional children, they can claim an additional amount of £15.90 per week per child – £63.60 per month and £826.80 per year.

And from April you will get £16.95 per week for each other child, which works out to £67.80 per month and £883.82 per year.

You will normally be eligible for child benefit if you live in Great Britain and are responsible for a child under the age of 16.

Parents can also claim maintenance for a child under the age of 20 if he/she is undergoing approved education or training.

When two or more people share the responsibility of caring for a child, it can only be claimed by one person.

Pay attention to child benefit with a high income

IF a parent or carer starts earning more than £50,000, they will have to start paying high income child benefit.

This means you will have to pay back 1% of your child benefit for every £100 of income earned above the £50,000 threshold.

Once you reach £60,000 in annual income, you must pay back the full amount of child benefit.

However, the Chancellor confirmed in his Spring Budget that from April the threshold at which parents must pay the levy will be increased to £60,000.

And in a further boost, Jeremy Hunt announced that the upper limit for child benefit eligibility will rise to £80,000.

Parents have been caught off guard by the complicated rules and extra costs and have ended up with bills running into thousands of pounds.

It is up to parents to notify HMRC if they are liable for the costs and they must file a tax return to pay them.

How can child benefit be used to fill the state pension shortfall?

If you leave paid work or have a low income while caring for a young child, you could end up with a gap in your NI record, which will affect the amount of state pension you can claim.

However, if you claim child benefit you will also get NI points, which you need to receive the full state pension.

If you (or your partner) are not working, or earn less than £123 a week, claiming child benefit can help you earn NI points that you would not otherwise have earned.

You need 30 qualifying years of NI to get the full state pension – currently £203.85 per week – either through contributions from work or credits.

By not claiming child benefit, thousands of parents are missing out on these NI credits and damaging their state pension rights when they retire.

If you don’t have enough years to qualify for a full state pension, adding an extra year to your NI record could increase your pension by £300 per year.

You can claim NI credits without also claiming child benefit.

Even if you don’t want to claim child benefit, you’ll need to complete the form to let HMRC know you want to receive the credits instead.

To make a child benefit claim, visit gov.uk/child-benefit/how-to-claim.

Simply tick this box at number 62 on the form to let HMRC know that you would like to receive NI credits but do not want a cash benefit now.

IT CAN be overwhelming trying to figure out why your Amazon Fire Stick might not be working properly.

But luckily we have listed them all for you.

1

Try restarting your Fire Stick firstCredit: Amazon

It can really ruin the movie experience if you can barely get through two minutes without the dreaded loading symbol appearing.

Or worse, when the speech doesn’t match the action and you end up in an even more grueling experience.

Here’s why your Amazon Fire Stick might be buffering:

  1. Outdated Fire Stick operating system
  2. Slow internet connection
  3. ISP limitation
  4. Modem far from FireStick
  5. Little RAM
  6. There is almost no storage space left
  7. FireStick overheated

Start the fire again

Try restarting your Fire Stick first.

Sometimes a gadget just needs a manual restart.

Next, make sure your Fire Stick has the latest firmware downloaded and is not running an outdated operating system.

Improve WiFi

Then do what you can to improve your Wi-Fi connection.

Most read in Phones and gadgets

You can do this by making sure your router is away from certain objects and contacting your Internet service provider.

If your Fire Stick is too far from your Wi-Fi router, your signal strength will be weak and cause buffering issues.

Try moving the router closer to the Fire Stick, but don’t place it directly behind the TV.

Alternatively, you can use an Ethernet cable for a secure internet connection.

How to Properly Power Your Amazon Fire TV Stick: User Tips

Free up space

Then check your storage space in the settings.

Fire Stick’s have 8GB of storage, but only about 5.5GB that can actually be used, which can quickly be eaten up by apps.

But you can also use an old USB stick that you have stashed away at home as an external storage drive. That’s how you do that.

Placement is crucial

The placement of your Fire Stick is also important.

If your TV is in an unventilated place, your Fire Stick may overheat.

Make sure the Fire Stick and your television have good airflow around them.

Last resort

If you’re still left with a buffering Fire Stick after all that, try downloading a VPN, also called a virtual private network.

Your ISP may slow down your connection speed from time to time if it detects too much streaming activity. This is called throttling.

In this case, a VPN masks your IP address to prevent so-called throttling and buffering.

Try some of these top tips to instantly improve your Amazon Fire Stick.

Apple is currently withholding details about the iOS 17.4 update to give as many iPhone users as possible the opportunity to update their phones – before hackers get their hands on information.

What the company has revealed so far is that hackers have taken advantage of a flaw in the “Kernel” in the iPhone operating system.

Apple revealed: “An attacker with arbitrary kernel read and write capabilities could potentially bypass kernel memory security.

“Apple is aware of a report that this issue may have been exploited.”

However, users of older devices don’t have to worry too much as Apple claims to have been able to fix this issue in iOS 16.7.6.

Another security issue that Apple was able to fix in their latest update is a bug in their RTKit.

This framework is used on most newer Apple devices, including their AirPods, Siri Remote, Apple Pencil 2, and Smart Keyboard Folio.

According to Apple, this flaw could also allow a hacker to overwrite and bypass memory protections.

Once again, Apple has said it has received a report that it is being exploited.

Unfortunately, only iPhone users who update their phone to iOS 17.4 can fix this problem.

‘I love this feature’ cheer iPhone owners after finding three-tap setup trick to make your battery last longer

Head of application security at Featurespace Sean Wright said the combination of the above two issues could compromise the security of your entire iPhone.

However, Wright added that it would be extremely difficult to successfully carry out such an attack.

He said: “Attackers should attempt to trick the victim into installing a malicious application or exploiting a previous vulnerability that has not yet been patched.”

Other new features in the iOS 17.4 update include changes to security against stolen devices, allowing for a security delay in all locations.

It also includes a PQ3 messaging protocol added to iMessage.

The protocol is thought to improve the security and privacy of your messages by anticipating future security threats such as quantum-based attacks.

It comes after Apple users realized that an unknown iOS 17 feature could save tons of storage space on their iPhones.

One iOS 17 feature automatically removes verification codes in iMessage and Mail after users use the AutoFill feature.

Receiving verification codes sent to your iPhone can provide an extra layer of security for all your accounts, but they can also pile up and take up your storage space if you’re not careful.

Over the past few years, numerous O2 customers have reported a strange warning appearing on their iPhone, telling them that 4G calling has been disabled.

But it leaves customers new to the pop-up baffled.

1

The warning looks like this:

Why has O2 disabled my 4G calls?

If you’ve had a notification that says “4G Call Disabled” (as pictured above), you’re not alone.

The strange warning doesn’t exactly go into detail about what or why this happened either.

“O2 has disabled 4G calling on your account,” it simply says.

This can be a bit alarming and leave you wondering if you can still make calls.

This prevents people from making Wi-Fi calls, which is essential in areas with low mobile signal.

However, you can still make calls using your standard network signal.

When the problem arose in 2021, O2 said it was a technical problem.

In 2023, O2 claimed it had something to do with a change in the network.

The company has previously said: “A device performs this check on the network every time it is restarted, and once every 24 hours.

“It is not unusual for a user data update to require a device restart.”

How to Fix O2 has disabled 4G calling

Whatever the cause, fortunately it is easy to solve.

Turning your iPhone on and off should be enough.

To check if everything is OK, go to Institutions Than Mobile data.

Then go to Mobile data optionsThan Voice and datafollowed by Volte.

Q I’m 65 years old but look younger except for my sagging neck! What can I do?

a Seek advice from an honest doctor as there will come a point where non-surgical treatments can no longer help.

Additionally, some (including the one discussed here) rule out a neck lift for at least a year.

That said, cosmetic doctor Dr Sarah Tonks (thelovelyclinic.co.uk) is a big fan of the Aptos thread lift for premature neck prolapse.

“These particular wires are made of a very strong, flexible material,” she says.

‘They give a really good lift and dissolve over time, while visibly stimulating collagen production.’

Under local anesthesia, five barbed wires are injected into each side of the neck bone (surprisingly, it is not painful), and you will immediately see a tightening.

Afterwards, there may be some swelling or bruising for a week. She charges £2,195 for the procedure (outside London it will be less; email info@aptothreads.uk for the nearest clinic). Results last 18 to 24 months.
