The handsome 43-year-old – who recently spoke about potentially playing Batman – arrived at the New York City studio on Tuesday morning to promote his upcoming reboot of the classic 1989 Patrick Swayze action film Road House.

Since he’s starring in the retelling of the ’80s classic, he undoubtedly took some fashion notes from the era when he wore a gray double-breasted pinstripe blazer with a huge lapel.

Jake responded, “I mean, I knew Patrick, I worked with him on the movie Donnie Darko. He was always so kind and loving to me. From the very beginning, he and his wife Lisa were always so supportive and so I didn’t feel any pressure, but I felt a responsibility to him.

“It’s an honor, it’s a cult classic, so many fans of the film, but we also did it in a very different way.”

Swayze died in 2009 at just 57 years old, less than two years after being diagnosed with stage IV pancreatic cancer.

The remake debuted on March 8 as the opening film at the South by Southwest festival in Austin, Texas.

This comes as Hollywood writer Lance Hill recently sued Amazon.com to halt the upcoming remake of the 1989 film Road House, arguing that the film infringes on his rights in the original’s screenplay.

Lance, 81, said in the lawsuit in federal court in California that Amazon was never granted a license to remake his screenplay after reclaiming his copyright on it.

He requested an unspecified amount of monetary damages and an injunction to restrain Amazon from distributing the film without a new license.

A spokesperson for Amazon MGM Studios said the lawsuit was “completely without merit.”

Hill’s attorney, Marc Toberoff, said major studios must “respect the fundamental rights and artistry of creators on whose sweat and toil their empires are built.”

According to the lawsuit, Hill wrote the Road House screenplay in 1986 and transferred his rights to the film producer United Artists later that year.

U.S. copyright law allows artists to terminate transfers and reclaim their rights after decades under certain circumstances. Hill told the court that he notified Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, owner of United Artists, in 2021 that he was reclaiming his rights to the screenplay.

MGM reportedly responded that Hill could not reclaim the copyright.

Amazon acquired MGM in March 2022. Hill said he got his copyright back last November and that Amazon set a deadline to finish the film the day before the termination took effect.

Hill said Amazon took “extreme measures” to meet the deadline, including using artificial intelligence to recreate actors’ voices during a Screen Actors Guild strike, but that Amazon did not finish the film until January.

Amazon’s spokesperson denied that the remake uses AI instead of actors’ voices.

Hill frequently used the pseudonym David Lee Henry in Hollywood and is best known for the cult film Road House.

Henry is credited with creating the story for the original Road House and shares co-writing of the screenplay with Hilary Henkin, 71.

Set in the Florida Keys, the remake is directed by Doug Liman, whose filmography includes Swingers, The Bourne Identity and Mr. & Mrs. Smith includes.

Road House will debut on Amazon’s Prime Video streaming platform on March 21.

Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama has died at the age of 68 due to a hemorrhage near his brain, his studio said Thursday.

Toriyama died on March 1 due to the medical condition known as acute subdural hematoma, the Dragon Ball studio said in a statement on social media.

The Dragon Ball studio said it was their “deep regret” that Toriyama “still had several works in the middle of creation with great enthusiasm,” as “he would have many more things to achieve.”

“However, he left many manga titles and works of art to this world. We hope that Akira Toriyama’s unique world of creation will remain loved by all for a long time to come.”

The Dragon Ball comic was released in 1984 and became a huge success, with spin-off films, games and cartoons.

The statement continued: “Thanks to the support of so many people around the world, he has been able to continue his creative activities for more than 45 years.

“We hope that Akira Toriyama’s unique world of creation will remain loved by everyone for a long time to come.”

The studio said that “a funeral service was held with his family and very few relatives,” asking for privacy for his family and for fans to refrain from visiting, sending flowers, gifts or other offers.

No decision has yet been made on a “memorial event” in Toriyama’s memory, the studio said, adding that it will provide further information as it becomes available.

“We sincerely thank you for your understanding and support, as always,” the studio said in closing the statement.

Dragon Ball centers on Son Goku, a boy who searches for a collection of magical dragon balls during a battle to protect the planet from the Saiyans, a group of alien humanoids.

The martial arts-influenced franchise also features popular characters such as Piccolo, Bulma and Krillin.

“My mom's favorite color was green and she loved butterflies,” he wrote via Instagram Story. “The butterfly is also a beautiful symbol of her life. I really wish she could be here with us because everything she ever wished for my sister and me is coming true. But she always had faith that this would happen. Love you mom.”

Bliss reshared the photo via her Instagram Story on Sunday, writing, “I know she will watch over our girl, always @zackgoytowski.”

The couple announced in November 2023 that they were expecting their first child together, due in the spring of 2024. Love is blind Baby.)

“It's a bit nerve-wracking, but I also think it's such a beautiful thing,” Bliss said People at the time. “Babies are miracles and blessings, and I think we've been so open to sharing our journey and our relationship with the world, and this is our next big beautiful thing. Bliss surprised Zack with the baby news by giving him a cake that said “I Love You Dad” – which initially confused him.

“So Bliss says, 'Open the cake,' and I read it and it says, 'I love you, Dad.' And I'm like, 'What? Why does your mother call me that?'' he joked, adding: 'I was incredibly happy. We both really wanted this and so we felt really blessed that we could make it happen.

Bliss and Zack met during Love is blind season 4, airing in 2023. Zack eventually left the dating pods engaged Irina Solomonova, but the couple called it quits. After he and Bliss reconnected, the pair were one of three couples to tie the knot during the season 4 finale, which aired in April 2023.
