Rock icon Jimmy Barnes walked his daughter Eliza-Jane down the aisle last month to marry her longtime partner Jimmy Metherell.

The 67-year-old Working Class Man hitmaker looked every bit the proud dad in a series of stunning photos from the wedding.

Just a few months earlier, the Scottish-born Australian was in intensive care and feared for his life as he underwent open-heart surgery.

But he was the picture of wholesomeness on his daughter’s big day, which was held at The Stables on Berrima’s Bendooley Estate on February 28.

Eliza-Jane, 39, broke down in tears as she clung to her famous dad ahead of the wedding.

She was a classic beauty on her big day, donning a vintage wedding dress with a nude base and white lace overlay, designed by Collette Dinnigan.

The performer enhanced her flawless features with a no-makeup makeup look and accessorized her luscious dark curls with a matching white floral crown.

“It was just an amazing celebration of love, and we were so happy that Dad was in such good shape for our wedding,” the singer-songwriter shared. women’s Day last Monday.

‘My father also had health problems at the end of last year, just before Christmas. So it was even more special to have both of our fathers there.”

Barnes admitted that he became “very emotional” during the day, saying: “I even shed a tear during rehearsal. Just the whole thing, you know.”

Sharing several photos on his Instagram, Barnes wrote, “We sang together as I walked EJ down the aisle to give her away, and nothing could have made me prouder.

“EJ sang her vows in a love song she wrote for her Jim. Jim joined our family and we joined the Metherell clan.

‘What more could a man ask for than the blessing of all these special loved ones around me.’

The bride’s father wore an all-black traditional Scottish outfit, including a kilt and boots.

EJ and Metherell, 36, welcomed 140 guests to their union at the estate, which is not far from Barnes and his wife Jane’s home in the Southern Highlands.

Guests included Crowded House star Neil Finn and Mark ‘Diesel’ Lizotte, who performed Otis Redding’s I’ve Been Loving You Too Long.

Additional co-host and Eliza-Jane’s cousin David Campbell also made good use of his pipes, singing the Elvis classic Love Me Tender during the bridal waltz.

Her siblings Mahalia, Jackie and Ella-May were also in attendance, along with Metherell’s very musical family.

The bride and groom, who have been together for almost a decade, welcomed their two-year-old son Teddy as the ring bearer.

After a traditional honeymoon, the family of three will fly back to their Auckland home to celebrate and start the next chapter of their lives.

Despite the happiness that radiated from their love ceremony, there was a real fear that Barnes would not make it to his daughter’s wedding.

The Australian rock legend spoke a few months ago about his close encounter with death and the serious fear that he would not wake up after heart surgery.

Barnes has survived his fair share of health issues during his many years of life, along with his drug and alcohol addiction.

But two months ago he became fearful for his health after being struck by a life-threatening infection that affected his heart.

At one point, while in St. Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney, a seriously ill Barnes told his wife Jane, “I don’t think I’m going to make it.”

‘I just had a terribly sick feeling, because I’ve never felt so sick before. I thought I was gone,” he said 60 minutes amid his recovery.

Hours before going to the hospital, an unwell Barnes took the stage at a memorial concert for his late friend and promoter, Michael Gudinski.

The 96th Academy Awards saw the best and biggest names in film descend upon The Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California on Sunday.

Oppenheimer won a whopping seven Oscars on the night – while rival Barbie only won one.

Meanwhile Emma Stone led Poor Things to an impressive four including her Best Actress win and UK film The Zone Of Interest won two at the gala event.

The historical epic directed by Christopher Nolan swept the major categories with wins for Best Actor Cillian Murphy, Best Supporting Actor Robert Downey Jr. and Nolan – with the film also winning Best Picture.

Yet it wasn’t just the winners that made the headlines as there were plenty of emotional, hilarious, and incredible moments on stage as the stars celebrated the best films of 2023.

John Cena appeared on the stage naked in a bit with host Jimmy Kimmel.

The WWE star-action film staple, 46, was summoned by Kimmel, who referenced the 50-year anniversary of a streaker named Robert Opel running onto the stage at the ceremony, interrupting late actor-presenter David Niven.

Kimmel, whose jokes about Robert Downey Jr. earlier in the evening landed flat, sought to summon the squared circle star onto the stage with the line, ‘Can you imagine if a nude man ran across the stage today?’

‘I said, can you imagine if – a nude man ran across the stage today? Wouldn’t that be crazy?

Cena backstage then said: ‘Psst! Psst, Jimmy! Come here.’

Kimmel said: ‘I can’t come there – do the thing! Excuse me for a second. What’s going on? You’re supposed to run across the stage’ as Cena said: ‘Yeah, I – changed my mind. I don’t want to do the streaker bit.’

‘I just don’t feel right about it. It’s an elegant event, you know, you should feel shame right now for suggesting such a tasteless …’

Kimmel said: ‘You wrestle naked, why not?’ as Cena said of his trademark ring attire: ‘I don’t wrestle naked, I wrestle in jorts!’

Cena walked sideways onto the stage with the envelope for Best Costume Design covering his genitals. He said, ‘Costumes – they are so important – maybe the most important thing there is.’

He acknowledged that he was unable to open the envelope, at which point Kimmel took over.

Emma Stone calling Jimmy Kimmel a ‘p***k’

Emma Stone’s loyal fans were up in arms on Sunday night after the 2024 Academy Awards host Jimmy Kimmel poked fun at her nominated film Poor Things.

Commenters on social media were convinced that the 35-year-old actress — who won Best Actress for the film —called Kimmel a ‘p***k’ over the snarky remark about the numerous sex scene in the Yorgos Lanthimos–directed science fantasy comedy.

The moment occurred after the Oscars aired a montage in tribute to the film, which is nominated for multiple honors, including Best Picture.

‘Those were all the parts of Poor Things we’re allowed to show on TV,’ the 56-year-old late night talk show host joked, referencing Emma’s sex scenes.

She didn’t look at all happy about the joke and wrinkled up her face as she turned to her husband Dave McCary to deliver the undecipherable line.

Despite the fact that Emma wasn’t audible, the vast majority of fans on social media thought she had called the comedian a ‘p***k’ for the jab.

‘Emma Stone’s reaction to Jimmy Kimmel’s joke about poor things.. oh YEAH,’ wrote one person on X (formerly Twitter).

‘Emma Stone calling Jimmy Kimmel a p***k [weeping emoji] oh clock that tea queen,’ joked another fan.

Another person seemed to agree: ‘Emma Stone says “He’s a p***k?”‘ they theorized.

Elsewhere, Jimmy roasted Robert Downey Jr’s manhood and past drug use in his bombshell opening monologue – as well as upsetting actress Emma.

The host, 56, returning for the fourth time, left the A-listers grinning and cringing in equal measure as he took to the stage.

Downey Jr. 58, who won Best Supporting Actor for Oppenheimer was stony-faced as Kimmel made a crass joke at the start of the ceremony – referring to the reformed coke addict’s past addictions.

He said: ‘And Robert Downey Jr., one of the highest points of his career. But Robert has been’ – as RDJ pointed at his face, leading Kimmel to add: ‘Was that too on the nose or a drug motion you made?

‘But look at him, he’s so handsome, so talented, he’s won every award there is to win. Is that an acceptance speech in your pocket or do you just have a very rectangular penis?’

The joke fell flat as RDJ looked somber while staring at the camera while fans slammed Kimmel for his ‘bottom of the barrel’ jokes about substance abuse.

Emma Stone suffers wardrobe malfunction

Emma showed off her wardrobe malfunction on stage while accepting the Oscar for best actress for Poor Things.

As she prepared to accept the trophy, the 35-year-old Cruella star could be seen holding the back of her Louis Vuitton peplum dress, after her zipper busted down her back – following her shock win over Killers of the Flower Moon favorite Lily Gladstone, 37.

‘My dress is broken,’ she began while fighting through tears. ‘I think it happened during I’m Just Ken.’

Once she gained her composure, the performer made a rare remark about her family as she thanked her parents and brother, her husband and daughter.

While speaking directly about her little girl, Louise Jean McCary, the proud mother-of-one gushed she was going to ‘be three in three days’ and turned her ‘world technicolour.’

‘I love you bigger than the whole sky,’ she concluded quoting the Taylor Swift track Bigger Than The Whole Sky from her 2022 album, Midnights.

As she exited the stage, the two-time Golden Globe winner, who sported a 30-carat yellow diamond choker, held the clasp on the back and requested the audience to refrain from looking ‘at the back’ of her gown.

Al Pacino announced Oppenheimer as the Best Picture winner without bothering to name all the other nominees while Emma Stone had an embarrassing wardrobe malfunction as the chaos toward the end of the Oscars broadcast took center stage on Hollywood’s biggest night.

Oppenheimer was the biggest winner of the night as it earned seven including top honor Best Picture and major wins for Cillian Murphy , Robert Downey Jr ., and Christopher Nolan while Emma led Poor Things to an impressive four including her Best Actress win and UK film The Zone Of Interest won two.

Even after the actress’ embarrassing moment with her dress, it was shaping up to be a decent end to the 96th annual Academy Awards telecast at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California on Sunday until the Hollywood legend rushed through his presenting of the last award of the night.

The 83-year-old Scarface star hit the stage and made an awkward joke about performing Shakespeare before jumping straight to announcing the Best Picture winner.

He said: ‘Wow. What — thank you. Oh, my friends. Thank you, thank you. I don’t know. Should I do some Shakespeare now? That’s in order, right? To be — no, I’m not going to do Sorry. Well, this is the time for the last award of the evening. And it’s my honor to present it.

‘Ten wonderful films are nominated, but only one will take the award for best picture. And I have to go to the envelope for that. And I will. Here it comes. And my eyes see Oppenheimer, yes!’

Social media was buzzing with posts about the awkward end to the show as one commented that Pacino’s announcement ‘couldn’t have been more chaotic or confusing.’

Ryan Gosling performs Barbie hit ‘I’m Just Ken’

Ryan Gosling brought the ‘Kenergy’ as he performed nominated track I’m Just Ken at Sunday’s Oscars.

The Best Supporting Actor nominee, 43, donned a sparkling pink suit as he exuded confidence onstage – accompanied by his Barbie co-stars and Guns N Roses guitarist Slash, 58.

Gosling started off his performance wearing shades and sat in the audience alongside Barbie star Margot Robbie, 33, as she giggled.

He then prowled his way to the stage where he joined a host of tuxedo clad back-up dancers.

Tenderly stroking their faces he was picked up and twirled in the air by the dancers before joining co-stars including Simu Liu onstage.

The star was then joined by Slash, 58, who made a surprise appearance before the actor hit a killer last note.

Gosling also enjoyed a reunion with his La La Land co-star Emma Stone as he serenaded her while walking into the audience.

Fans quickly noticed a similarity between Gosling’s performance and Marilyn Monroe’s iconic Gentleman Prefer Blondes scene in 1953 in which she performed Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend.

Jodie Foster becomes emotional 

Jodie Foster became teary-eyed as she listened to Jamie Lee Curtis ‘ moving tribute while presenting Best Supporting Actress during the 96th Academy Awards on Sunday.

The Silence Of The Lambs star, 61 – who was nominated for her role in the biographical sports drama , Nyad – could be seen sitting amongst the audience as Curtis took to the stage.

The Oscar winner, 65, was also joined by Mary Steenburgen, Lupita Nyong’o , Rita Moreno as well as Regina King during the ceremony.

Curtis announced Foster – whom she called her ‘bestie’ – as the first nominee in the category and began, ‘So, I am thrilled to be back on this stage to present this year’s Best Supporting Actress Oscar.’

‘And I I am beyond proud to be able to talk about one of my besties,’ she gushed with a smile while turning in the direction of her close pal.

‘So in Nyad, Jodie Foster brings a physical intensity, coupled with deep concern and care as Bonnie Stoll to Diana Nyad’s fierce best friend, motivator and serious a**-kicker.’

Jamie then added, ‘And speaking from personal experience, all of those qualities are very really about Jodie as well.’

Foster’s eyes began to glisten as she smilingly gazed up towards the stage as the Halloween actress shared the speech.

In conclusion, Curtis said, ‘There is no one you would rather have your back than the multi-talented Jodie Foster.’

As the audience burst into applause, the Taxi Driver blew a kiss in the direction of Jamie while still looking tearful.

Jimmy Kimmel kicked off the 96th Academy Awards Sunday March 10 make a joke about the nominee Robert Downey Jr.‘s previous drug history.

“congratulations for Cillian [Murphy]‘s costar Robert Downey Jr.,” Kimmel, 56, joked in his monologue during the discussion Oppenheimer and the many nominations. “This is the pinnacle of Robert Downey Jr.’s long and illustrious career. Well, one of the highest points.”

Downey, 58, immediately pointed to his nose as he played Emily Bluntwho sat behind him seemed to comfort him by rubbing his back.

“Was it too much on the nose or was that a medicine motion you made?” Kimmel added this during the awards ceremony, which was held at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles. “Well, look at this man, he’s so handsome and talented, he’s won every award there is to win… and is that an acceptance speech or do you just have a very rectangular penis?”

Kimmell added: “What a story, just twenty years ago things weren’t going so well. He played the bad guy in a movie where Tim Allen turns into a dog, right? And if you ever decide to remake that movie, I have the right man to play it Tim Allen. Messi [the dog from Anatomy of a Fall].

Although Downey seemed to be a good sport during Kimmel’s monologue, his history of addiction began in 1996. He was arrested several times before undergoing treatment programs. He has been sober since 2003, thanks to his wife Susan Downey for his success.

Sunday evening marks Kimmel’s fourth time presenting the Oscar broadcast. He previously hosted the awards ceremony in 2017, 2018 and 2023.

“It’s an experience that I try to remember is special,” Kimmel said ABC earlier this month. “I just want to make sure that for the people watching and the people who are there, we bring the right amount of respect and also the right amount of disrespect into the proceedings.”

While Kimmel is no stranger to creating monologues for award shows, comedians have been under fire lately for their jokes. Jo Koy, for his part, he hosted the Golden Globes in January, where he infamously joked that the broadcast would have fewer cutscenes. Taylor Swift than the NFL did at games. Nominee Swift, 34, appeared visibly irritated by the jab. (Swift is dating a football player Travis Kelce since the summer of 2023, often attending his Kansas City Chiefs games during the 2023-2024 season.)

When it became clear that Koy’s jokes were bombing, he blamed his writers during the broadcast. Kimmel, for his part, plans to take a different approach if he finds himself in a similar situation

“I will do it privately when I go to their homes and discharge them in front of their families,” says the Jimmy Kimmel! Live the host joked Deadline in March, noting that he “felt bad” for Koy, 52, at the Globes. “I don’t think he’s been put in a great position. I think he’d be the first person to tell you that publicly blaming his writers wasn’t the right move, but you know, it’s overwhelming.

Kimmel added, “I just think he’s a funny guy, and I think it’s unfortunate that for a lot of people who saw him for the first time, that was the impression they got, and I hope they go to his look at other work. .”

Kimmel, for his part, planned to test his jokes in advance on “people.” [he knows] who get it,” including former Oscar-goers “who understand the dynamics.” While speaking to Deadline, he hinted that his jokes would be about all the nominated films.

Robert Downey Jr. finally won the illusive Oscar in the Actor in a Supporting Role category for Oppenheimer after host Jimmy Kimmel made a very awkward quip about his drug use.

The 58-year-old veteran actor – who has acted for over five decades –  took home the Academy Award over stiff competition including Sterling K. Brown, American Fiction, Robert De Niro, Killers of the Flower Moon, Ryan Gosling, Barbie, and Mark Ruffalo, Poor Things.

The talented star took to the podium to showcase his signature wit and even joked about his ‘terrible childhood’ while accepting the honor.

He said: ‘Thank you, thank you. Ah — thanks, Sam, thanks, fellas. You only flubbed one line. I’d like to thank my terrible childhood and The Academy, in that order.

‘I’d like to thank my — veterinarian — I meant wife, Susan Downey over there. She found me a snarling rescue pet and you loved me back to life. That’s why I’m here. Thank you.’

The talented actor went on talk about how much he needed his role in Oppenheimer while thanking director Christopher Nolan and castmates Emily Blunt and Cillian Murphy.

He continued: ‘Here’s my little secret. I needed this job more than it needed me. Chris knew it, Emma made sure that she surrounded me with one of the great casts and crews of all time, Emily, Cillian, it was fantastic. 

‘And I stand here before you a better man because of it. What we do is meaningful, and the stuff that we decide to make is important. So, back to my publicist — my agent, Phillip Raskin is here and Andrew Dunlap, my den mother joy Feeley, thank you.

One noticeable omission from his acceptance speech was Mel Gibson who he has previously credited with his comeback when he helped him land a role in 2003’s The Singing Detective.

Gibson’s, now 68, fall from grace began in 2006, when the actor was pulled over for speeding. After the police on the scene found an open bottle of alcohol in Gibson’s vehicle, the Braveheart actor launched into an angry tirade filled with anti-Semitic slurs and sexist overtones towards the arresting officer.

In a police report leaked by TMZ, Gibson allegedly shouted to the arresting officers: ‘“F*****g Jews. . . The Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world.’

Gibson issued apologies through his publicist and in an interview with Diane Sawyer, during which he described his behavior on the night of his arrest as ‘despicable.’

The actor/director later pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor drunken-driving charge and was sentenced to three years probation.

It may not have been a wise decision to thank Gibson who famously used those anti-Semitic  slurs as Oppenheimer follows the story of American scientist J. Robert Oppenheimer and his role in the development of the atomic bomb which was used during World War II amid the Holocaust.

 In Oppenheimer Downey Jr portrays as Rear Admiral Lewis Strauss, a retired Naval officer and high-ranking member of the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission (AEC).

Downey Jr. had previously spent time behind bars in 1999 after a long period of substance abuse which stifled his career.

He added: ’20 years ago, Robert played the villain, and correct me if I have this wrong, in a movie where Tim Allen turns into a dog, right? And if you ever decide to remake that film, I have just the guy to play Tim Allen. 

The actor’s legal troubles began in 1996 when he was stopped for speeding and authorities found of heroin, cocaine and an unloaded .357 caliber Magnum. A year later, he skipped a court-ordered drug test and spent nearly four months in the Los Angeles County jail.

Following this, he then skipped another drug test and was sentenced to three years of prison in 1999. During this time, Downey Jr. served 15 months in state prison in Corcoran, California.

A few months after his release, he was arrested on Thanksgiving weekend for alleged cocaine and Valium possession and being under the influence of drugs.

The valium charge was eventually reduced to a misdemeanor, he pleaded no contest to the remaining charges and avoided more jail time.

In 2001, he was found walking bare foot around Culver City, Los Angeles, and was arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of drugs.

Following year of substance abuse, arrests, rehabs and relapse, Downey made a full recovery and has since gone on to achieve global recognition.

Moments later, the film also earned the coveted honor Outstanding Film Editing as Jennifer Lame took home her first Academy Award.

The film dominated the visual categories as Hoyte van Hoytema also took home Outstanding Cinematography. 

Da’Vine Joy Randolph emotionally kicked off the Oscars as she broke into tears as she earned the coveted Actress in a Supporting Role for The Holdovers.

The talented 37-year-old actress beat out stiff competition including Emily Blunt, Oppenheimer, Danielle Brooks, The Color Purple, America Ferrera, Barbie, and Jodie Foster, Nyad.

She had tears running down her face as she earned a standing ovation for her crowning moment as she began her speech by saying: ‘God is so good. God is so good. 

‘You know — I — I didn’t think I was supposed to be doing this as a career. I started off as a singer, and my mother said to me, go across that street to that theater department, there’s something for you there. And I thank my mother for doing that. 

‘I thank you to all the people who have stepped in my path and have been there for me, who has ushered me and guided me. I am so grateful to all you beautiful people out here. For so long, I’ve always wanted to be different, and now, I realize, I just need to be myself. And I thank you. I thank you for seeing me.’

Da’vine definitely did not forget where she comes from as she thanked her acing coach Ron Van Lieu.

She said: ‘Ron, I thank you. When I was the only Black girl in that class, when you saw me and you told me I was enough, and when I told you, I don’t see myself, you said, that’s fine, we’re going to forge our own path. You’re going to lay a trail for yourself. I’m so grateful to all the women who have been by my side, Colleen, Barbara, Tracy Brennan, Sarah Fargo. 

‘I have to give a special shoutout to my publicist. I know you said don’t say anything about your publicist, but you don’t have a publicist like mine. I’m forever grateful. I pray to god that I get to do this more than once. I thank you for seeing me. Have a blessed night. Thank you so much.’

In the film she portrays Mary Lamb who is the head cook at Barton Academy boarding school and is a bereaved mother. 

Da’Vine has proved to be unbeatable as she also earned major Awards Season wins at the Screen Actors Guild, Golden Globes, and Critics’ Choice Awards.

Cord Jefferson won in one of the most contentious categories Adapted Screenplay for his brilliant work on American Fiction.

The 42-year-old writer and director beat out Barbie, Greta Gerwig & Noah Baumbach, Oppenheimer, Christopher Nolan, Poor Things, Tony McNamara, and The Zone of Interest, Jonathan Glazer.

During his acceptance speech Cord said: ‘that worked on the film. I’ve been talking a lot about how many people passed on this movie in discussing it, and I worry sometimes that sounds vindictive. I don’t want to be vindictive, I’m not a vindictive person anymore, I’ve worked really hard not to be, and it’s more a plea. A plea to acknowledge and recognize that there are so many people out there that want the opportunity that I was given.’

Original Screenplay was earned by Justine Triet and Arthur Harari for critically-acclaimed film Anatomy of a Fall. 

The duo beat out an impressive field including: The Holdovers, David Hemingson, Maestro, Bradley Cooper and Josh Singer, May December, Samy Burch (Story b Samy Burch & Alex Mechanik), and Past Lives, Celine Song.

The Zone Of Interest from The United Kingdom earned International Feature Film over Io Capitano, Italy, Perfect Days, Japan, Society of the Snow, Spain, and The Teachers’ Lounge, Germany. 

The second award of the night was Animated Short Film and it was given to  WAR IS OVER! Inspired by the Music of John and Yoko.

Sean Ono Lennon made sure to give a special shoutout at the end of his speech for mom Yoko as he said: ‘Thank you, my mother turned 91 this February, and today is mother’s day in the UK, so, could everyone please say happy mother’s day, Yoko? Thank you so much. Thank you.’

Early in the show, the crew from Poor Things earned a trio of awards. 

Make-up and Hairstyling went to Nadia Stacey, Mark Coulier and Josh Weston for their work on the Yorgos Lanthimos flick.

Poor Things also won Outstanding Achievement in Production Design as James Price and Shona Heath were recognized for Production design while Zsuzsa Mihalek earned it for Set Decoration. 

The film also earned the coveted award for Outstanding Achievement in Production Design as Holly Waddington was recognized.

Visual Effects was taken home by Godzilla Minus One with Takashi Yamazaki, Kiyoko Shibuya, Masaki Takahashi and Tatsuji Nojima earning the honor.

 The team beat out impressive teams including The Creator, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, and Napoleon.

The 96th Academy Awards honors the best films of 2023 – with the glittering ceremony held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. 

The most hotly anticipated movies of the past year – Barbie and Oppenheimer – lead the nominations. 

Oppenheimer has bagged 13 nods, including best picture and best actor for Cillian Murphy – who is favorite to win the major category after scooping a BAFTA, a Golden Globe and SAG award for his role as physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer.

The impressive total – which also includes best supporting actor and actress for Robert Downey Jr. and Emily Blunt, as well as best director for Christopher Nolan – is just one nomination short of the all-time record set by Titanic in 1998.

Last year’s other smash hit movie – Barbie – was nominated for eight awards, but also fell victim to notable snubs from the Academy.

Its star Margot Robbie was not nominated for best actress, while Greta Gerwig was not nominated for best director.

Another surprise saw America Ferrera nominated for best supporting actress over her role in Barbie, with pundits saying her character’s impassioned speech on feminism had sealed the deal. 

Barbie’s other nominations include best picture, best supporting actor for Ryan Gosling and two nods for best song – including Gosling’s famed ‘I’m Just Ken.’ 

The second most-nominated movie was Poor Things, a graphic art house movie starring Emma Stone that has wowed critics but so-far failed to set the box office alight.

Stone plays a sex-crazed young woman, with her performance wowing critics. She previously won best actress in 2017 for her performance in La La Land. 

For best actor in leading role Bradley Cooper and Cillian Murphy are set to duke it out for the award. Colman Domingo, Paul Giamatti and Jeffrey Wright received nominations as well.

Leonardo DiCaprio was not recognized for his acting on Killers Of The Flower Moon.

Yorgos Lanthimos’ Poor Things took home 11 Oscar nominations and Killers of the Flower Moon landed 10.

Annette Bening, Lily Gladstone, Sandra Huller, Carey Mulligan and Emma Stone have been nominated for best actress in a leading role.

Gladstone is the first Native American nominated for best actress, for her performance in Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon – and is the favorite in the category thanks to her wins at the Golden Globes and SAG Awards,

What Was I Made For by Billie Eilish and I’m Just Ken performed by Ryan Gosling from Barbie received their expected nominations for best original song. 

Sterling K. Brown, Robert De Niro, Robert Downey Jr., Ryan Gosling and Mark Ruffalo received nominations for best actor in a supporting role.

Emily Blunt, Danielle Brooks, America Ferrera, Jodie Foster and Da’Vine Joy Randolph received nominations for best actress in a supporting role.

Joy already has  Golden Globe, Bafta, Critics Choice and Screen Actors Guild awards and is favorite for an Oscar for her performance as a bereaved cook in The Holdovers.

Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon and Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer were nominated for best directing, snubbing Greta Gerwig’s Barbie. 

Gerwig was nominated for best director in 2018 for her solo directorial debut, Lady Bird. Only three women have won Oscars for best director – Kathryn Bigelow, Chloe Zhao and Jane Campion.

Though Nolan is regarded as the big-budget auteur of his era, he’s never won an Academy Award, nor have any of his films won best picture. 

Bradley Cooper was not nominated for directing Maestro but he was recognized for his acting in that bio movie.

American Fiction, Anatomy of a Fall, Barbie, The Holdovers, Killers of the Flower Moon, Maestro, Oppenheimer, Past Lives, Poor Things and The Zone of Interest landed best picture nominations.  

The 96th Academy Awards will be held on March 10 at 7 pm ET/4pm PT live on ABC, hosted for a fourth time by Jimmy Kimmel. 

Love is blind season 6 exes Jimmy Presnell And Chelsea Blackwell have fans wondering if they’ve rekindled their romance.

Jimmy, 28, and Chelsea, 31, raised eyebrows on Thursday, March 7, when they both took to social media to share images from what appeared to be a getaway in Florida. The couple was apparently in town to attend a wedding for Chelsea’s friend in the Fort Lauderdale area.

“I’m coming for my best friends’ wedding! @mizzp86 can’t wait to pinch you!” Chelsea wrote a photo of herself on the plane via her Instagram Stories. Hours later, she shared a photo from JB’s on the Beach, where she took in the view with an unnamed dinner companion drinking a Corona beer.

Jimmy, meanwhile, posted a similar photo via his own Instagram Story, showing his seafood dinner – and a Corona – from the same restaurant. The duo later confirmed they were traveling together when they stopped to pose for a photo with a fan.

Sharp-eyed social media users quickly put the pieces together and began sharing their thoughts online. “The fact that Jimmy and Chelsea are back together is the most psychotic thing I have ever seen in my life,” one person wrote via I madness.”

Neither Jimmy nor Chelsea have discussed their current relationship status, but the pair faced numerous ups and downs leading up to their split, which aired during the Wednesday, March 7, finale. After forming a strong bond in the pods, Jimmy started complaining that Chelsea was too “clingy.” Chelsea later became insecure about Jimmy’s close female friendships and even asked about his past relationships on camera.

Jimmy officially pulled the plug on their romance in episode 12 when he confessed he couldn’t walk down the aisle despite searching for their wedding song earlier that day.

“I was really, really blinded,” Chelsea said exclusively We weekly before the final. “We had our ups and our downs – and our downs were down – but our ups have been so good so far. A week before that we were on cloud nine [and] we were so good. We were talking right before we walked into that date, we were talking about our wedding songs at the reception.

Chelsea noted that it was strange to hear Jimmy, 28, call off their engagement once and for all. “No one wants to hear that, and I did everything I could,” she said. “So that was weird.”

However, Jimmy explained that he wanted to say ‘yes, I do’, but there was a lack of trust that he couldn’t look past.

“We fought very hard to get there, and I had very strong feelings about her. We are learning more and more about each other [every] One day and the few days leading up to it, unfortunately, it was more of a fight to give her an extra day,” he shared. Jimmy Kimmel And Molly McNearney were colleagues for six years Jimmy Kimmel Live! before their relationship grew into something more.

McNearney, who started dating Kimmel in 2009, explained how their workplace friendship turned into a romance. “All the writers would talk to each other after the show, and we would hang out more and more. We really loved each other as friends, and then things just changed. He cooked for me, and that was it. It sealed the deal,” she said Glamour in 2014.

Kimmel and McNearney welcomed son Bill, who underwent multiple surgeries after birth for congenital heart defects. Kimmel announced the news during a monologue Jimmy Kimmel Live!and McNearney later said she wasn’t prepared for how emotional it would be.

“So there I am, sitting in my living room, breastfeeding Billy with my mom next to me, and we’re watching,” McNearney said The Hollywood Reporter in December 2017. “I sobbed through the whole thing. I couldn’t believe the strength it took to tell that story a week after it happened. He didn’t have to do that.”

She continued, “Our family has excellent health care; he had nothing to gain from that. He did it for the other people we met in that hospital. He came home that night and I just hugged him and didn’t want to let him go.”

In February 2018, DeGeneres surprised Kimmel when she revealed that the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles had named a room on the Heart Institute floor after Billy. “Wow,” Kimmel said as he wiped tears from his eyes and planted a kiss on DeGeneres’ cheek.

Kimmel announced via Instagram that he and McNearney would match donations of up to $25,000 to St. Joseph Center, a Los Angeles-based charity that helps struggling families, to spread cheer this holiday season.

“Let’s make sure every child gets presents this year. @StJosephCtr makes sure LA kids and their parents have food to eat and presents to open. “With $25 you can bring holiday cheer to those who desperately need it,” he wrote, alongside a photo of Jane and Billy giggling together in a cardboard box under a Christmas tree.

Australian rock legend Jimmy Barnes has faced death and serious fears that he might not wake up after open heart surgery.

The Scottish-born former Cold Chisel frontman, 67, has survived his fair share of health issues, from his long life to the extreme and his drug and alcohol addiction.

While others previously worried about him, two months ago he was as worried as his family after he was struck by a life-threatening infection that affected his heart.

At one point, while in St. Vincent's Hospital in Sydney, a seriously ill Barnes told his wife Jane, “I don't think I'm going to make it.”

'I just had a terribly sick feeling, because I've never felt so sick before. I thought I was gone,” he said 60 minutes.

Hours before going to the hospital, an unwell Barnes took the stage at a memorial concert for his late friend and promoter, Michael Gudinski.

The pain of performing because he didn't want to let anyone down was evident in the footage of the concert – not that you could tell from his powerful voice that night.

Barnes was so ill that he barely remembers the show.

'I was really bad. And even though I felt like I could barely walk, I just had to get there,” he said.

Backstage he was sweating and had a fever. '

'There was a lot of pain. My back hurt a lot…I had trouble walking. I don't know how I got through it,” Barnes recalled.

“As soon as I came off, I almost collapsed.”

Barnes was scheduled to fly abroad the next morning for another concert, but instead went to hospital as her health continued to deteriorate.

“He could have easily said, 'I'll just sleep on the plane, I'll sleep it off,'” Jane recalled.

“If he had done that this time, I don't know if he would be with us.”

Barnes explained what led to him making the fateful decision to go to St. Vincent's instead of Sydney Airport.

'I got out of bed and was in so much pain. I was wheezing, had a fever (and I thought: I just can't do it).”

Although he had had a bad back on and off for years, this time he didn't know what was wrong. He just knew it couldn't be ignored.

When his children heard that their father was in the hospital, they immediately knew it was serious.

“For him to pull the plug (and say) 'I'm going to the hospital' is a big deal,” said his eldest son, Today Extra host David Campbell.

Daughter Mahalia added: “I've worried about him at many points, but I don't think I've been more worried about him and all of us than I was in December.”

Campbell said he called his father's wife and Jane and she said, 'This isn't good. It doesn't feel good at all.”

'So he had gone from feeling 'I'm letting people down' to 'something is wrong and I don't know what's happening to my body'.

“And it started to scare him. I think he was scared. And he said, 'I think I'm dying.'”

At St. Vincent's Hospital, what Barnes thought might be pneumonia turned out to be much worse.

A team of specialists discovered that the rocker's body was failing because an infection in his blood was causing endocarditis – a life-threatening inflammation of the heart

'It's deadly. “If he had not died of the infection, he would have died of heart failure because the entire valve fell apart,” said cardiothoracic surgeon Dr. Paul Jansz.

By the time he was wheeled into the operating room for open-heart surgery, his doctors said he had only hours to live.

“When I thought about dying before the operation, all I thought was, 'You have to enjoy those moments; Have I told my children that I love them enough? Did I tell Jane? The people you love, make sure you tell them,” Barnes said.

During a seven-hour operation, doctors replaced Barnes' damaged valves and repaired his heart.

He endured the surgery, but the pain when he woke up was like nothing he had ever felt before.

“It's like you've been torn in half,” he said. 'Your best friend is a pillow. When you cough, it's just pain. If you breathe too deeply, it is pain. And sneezing would be the end of you.

'But I think it made me stronger. I want to be better than I was. This has given me all this new life and I want to make the most of it. I want every minute to count.'

Barnes has gained a new appreciation for some of the simpler things in life, like Sunday lunch with family.

He is full of gratitude for his doctors and his wife, who hardly left his side during his 26 days in the hospital.

“The fact that my family was there and Jane was there definitely kept me from going anywhere. I wanted to spend every breath I could with Jane. And if that meant fighting to live longer, then I would,” he said.

Amazingly, his recovery is going well. Barnes will return to live music at the Byron Bay Bluesfest on Easter Sunday.

When 60 Minutes reporter Sylvia Jeffreys asked him about this quick comeback, Barnes stretched out his arms like a crucifix and joked that this would be the day of his resurrection.

'I miss being on stage, I have to do it, I have no choice. I have to go out there and scream, it just takes the emotions out of you,” he said.
