Shannen Doherty shares new details about how her wedding went Kurt Iswarienko unraveled.

During her first episode “Let’s Be Clear with Shannen Doherty” podcastreleased on Tuesday, December 5, the actress, 52, revealed that she had brain surgery after finding out that Iswarienko, 49, had allegedly cheated on her.

“I went to the operating room early in the morning and went in after finding out that my marriage was basically over, that my husband had been having an affair for two years,” she claimed. “To not go to that operation, even though it was very clear that he wanted to, I couldn’t go there with him to that operation. I felt so betrayed.”

Doherty thanked her loved ones for her support as she endured the breakdown of her marriage amid her battle with cancer.

“At the end of the day, I felt so incredibly unloved by someone I was with for 14 years, by someone I loved with all my heart,” she continued. “Just to have to go through all that trying to figure out if you’re going to get a divorce and trying to find out the truth of that.”

Doherty filed for divorce from Iswarienko in April after eleven years of marriage. At the time it was her representative Leslie Sloaneclaimed that Iswarienko’s agent was “heavily involved” in the split.

“Divorce is the last thing Shannen wanted,” Sloane said. “Unfortunately, she felt like there was no other choice.”

According to documents obtained by We weekly, the estranged couple split in January. Doherty was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015 and after two years of chemotherapy, Doherty confirmed she was in remission. When her cancer returned in 2020, Doherty revealed it was stage IV. At the end of last month the Beverly Hills, 90210 alum shared that the cancer has spread to her bones.

On Wednesday’s podcast, Doherty admitted she is “obsessed” with finding out the truth about Iswarienko’s alleged infidelity.

“If you’ve been together for fourteen years and you’ve cheated, doesn’t that person deserve the absolute truth, no matter how much it hurts them?” she continued, before noting that she “also spoke to the girlfriend of two years he cheated on her with.”

Doherty called the demise of her third marriage “shameful.” (She was previously married to Ashley Hamilton for one year until 1994 and Rik Salomon from 2002 to 2003.)

“I’m shocked that I can’t maintain a relationship. I think it’s a reflection of me, but this one, I think this one is his. I have failed three times in my marriage, but I still believe in love,” she explained. “I also take some responsibility for the demise of our marriage – actually that’s not true. Let me rephrase that: I don’t take responsibility for the demise of our marriage, I take responsibility for some of the problems in our marriage. I take responsibility not just because of how I was, but because of how cancer affected my marriage and how it affected him the second time around.

Despite the way her marriage ended, Doherty admitted she “couldn’t” walk away immediately.

“I was so confused and I was also on steroids and a lot of brain surgery stuff because they didn’t want my brain to swell,” she concluded. “And honestly, it’s still very difficult. Yes, I made the decision to file for divorce, but I have many memories of this person.
