Whoopi Goldberg was unimpressed during Monday’s episode of The View when she was abruptly interrupted while celebrating Robert Downey Jr.’s Oscar wins. and praised Da’Vine Joy Randolph.

The 68-year-old shared her joy at the duo winning Best Supporting Actor and Actress awards as the Oscars music started playing, causing the Sister Act star to pause in her songs as her co-host Sunny Hostin blurted out: “Oh, they’re playing you!”

Whoopi – who won an Academy Award in 1990 for her role in Ghost – was clearly irritated as she berated executive producer Brian Teta, telling him, “I’m not going,” and when the camera cut to him, he was seen gesticulating. for her to hurry up as he laughed nervously.

It was quite a chaotic part of the Oscars as Ana Navarro also ruffled a few feathers when she made a questionable observation live about Eva Longoria’s ‘t**ties’ and left some viewers unimpressed when she made a joked about Hollywood actor Will Smith and compared him to a dog.

When Sunny, 55, commented on the presence of dog Messi, who stars in the Oscar-winning film Anatomy of a Fall, Ana joked: “That dog was better behaved than Will Smith!” referring to the 2022 ceremony when Will took the stage and punched host Chris Rock after making a joke about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith.

Ana didn’t stop there, though, as she was quite sassy when it came to sharing her thoughts on the fashion looks on the 96th Academy Awards red carpet.

While Sunny complimented the pink and green dresses of Wicked co-stars Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, Ana didn’t hold back, saying, “I hated it.” I thought she [Cynthia] looked like an iguana and the other [Ariana]… it looked like a tribute to cotton candy.’

Moments earlier, Sara Haines chided Ana as she praised her good friend Eva Longoria’s black dress and joked, “I don’t know where she got those titties from because I know her and she doesn’t have… I don’t know” not how that happened!’

Sara, 46, quickly intervened, telling her, “I’m not sure if you can say that…” as Sunny added, “Can you say that on TV?” to which Sara replied, “No!” while Alyssa Faraha Griffin giggled during the exchange.

Whoopi didn’t seem interested in the fashion talk, but she was keen to share her thoughts on Robert, 58, who won Best Supporting Actor for his role as Lewis Strauss in Oppenheimer – winning a total of seven awards on the night.

“I would tell Robert Downey Jr. want to say it’s about damn time. About damn time!’ Whoopi announced as the live studio audience applauded her comments.

“He’s one of those actors who, in my opinion, should have had several by now, but you know, that’s the beautiful and the infuriating part of the Oscars. People vote, and this is what they voted for, and I have to say I’m so happy for him and for Miss Randolph too, it was great to see her win.”

When Ana noted, “Her speech was so moving and so beautiful, it brought me to tears,” Whoopi admitted, “I missed it all, but I’ve been rooting for her for a while now and also…” like the Oscars music suddenly started playing.

“Oh, they’re playing you, Whoopi! Are you going to play up the EGOT when you talk about the Oscars? Okay!’ Sunny blurted out, referencing Whoopi’s success in winning an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar and a Tony Award.

‘Well, here’s the deal, I’m not going! I’m going to make sure I finish my sentence,” Whoopi said in all seriousness as Brian tried to lighten the mood and grinned at her off camera.

“I’ve been waiting for this for Robert Downey Jr. as long as I’ve known him, and I’ve worked with him, and he’s one of the greatest journeyman actors in the world,” she added before The View continued. a commercial interruption.

Viewers tuning in at home thought it was hilarious and took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to comment on the hilarious moment.

“Producers playing the Oscar closing music to get Whoopi to pause sent me #TheView,” one person wrote.

Another commented: ‘Ooop Whoopi looked mad that they were trying to play her off on #theview,’ while a third person agreed, saying: ‘Brian pissed Whoopi off on #TheView.’

A fourth person commented: ‘I’m playing the #Oscars music on Whoopi, who’s an EGOT?! REAL?! No madam !!!! #The view.’

And someone else wrote: ‘Not them who played the Oscar music while Whoopi was still talking #TheView.’

“I don’t think #Whoopi really appreciated the music that drove her away.. She got the joke.. she just didn’t find it funny.. #TheView,” another person said.

Meanwhile, some viewers were left unimpressed by Ana’s joke about Men In Black star Will, as one person tweeted: ‘Ana, leave Will Smith alone. #The view.’

Another angry fan said: ‘Ana I like you but don’t ever compare a dog to Will Smith again #theview’, while a third added: ‘Ana look at you with Will Smith jokes. #The view.’

And someone else fumed: ‘I wish Ana would keep quiet about the slap. She thinks she’s funny, but it never works out. Lots of sadness – move on #TheView.”

Messi – the dog star of Anatomy of a Fall – was the standout star at the 96th annual Oscars ceremony in Hollywood on Sunday night. 

The seven-year-old collie from France made a surprise appearance in the audience where he was seen ‘clapping’ for Robert Downey Jr after his Best Supporting Actor win for Oppenheimer – in a moment that has since gone viral. 

He quickly became a firm favorite among guests and spectators alike, even earning a delighted nod of approval from Barbie star Ryan Gosling. 

Amid a slew of disasters from the show’s human attendees – as Al Pacino announced Oppenheimer as Best Picture without naming the other nominees, while Emma Stone suffered a wardrobe malfunction while claiming the prize for Best Actress in Poor Things – it was left to Messi to win over crowds. 

Messi flew over to LA from France in business class for the occasion with his trainer Laura Contini. 

On the night, he was the toast of Hollywood, cuddling up to the likes of Olivia Wilde, while Emma Stone and Gosling have also sung his praises. 

But his trainer Laura has revealed that his journey to stardom was not a simple one, partly down to his distinctive blue eyes and unusual looks. 

Laura adopted Messi when he was two months old from a neighbour – whose children had named him after the Argentine football player – and he’s the first dog she’s ever trained to be a cinema star. 

But the neighbour was surprised that Laura had chosen him, calling him the ‘ugliest dog’ of the litter – and it would take years of failing to crack the final stages of auditions before Messi landed his starring role.

Laura and Messi initially struggled to break into the film industry, and she calls her dog a ‘misunderstood artist’, meaning that he has only become a ‘canine celebrity’ later in life. 

Prior to Anatomy of a Fall, Messi had only landed French commercials like Pedigree, Truffaut, and a short film and music videos. Anatomy of a Fall was his breakout role and his ‘one chance’ to make it big, according to Laura. 

In an interview with IndieWire, Laura said their struggles were down to ‘something in his gaze or his eyes. [Anatomy of a Fall] is really the biggest film he’s ever made. He had one chance, and he gave it his all.

‘He gets calls now because he is now a star.’ 

She also told GQ: ‘He always went to the end of the auditions but was never accepted often because of his [unusual] look and his eyes.’ 

In French legal thriller Anatomy of a Fall, German actress Sandra Hüller plays a writer and a mother who is put on trial after her husband mysteriously falls to his death from the top floor of their chalet in the mountains. 

Messi stars as Snoop, the support dog of her blind 11-year-old son, Daniel (Milo Machado-Graner), who becomes a major witness in the film’s court case scenes.

In the role of Snoop, Messi took part in several difficult scenes, including wandering through the house as police gather evidence, and lying on the bed next to Sandra near the end of the film.   

His most significant scene comes when tensions are at an all-time high: after being poisoned by Daniel, who is trying to gather evidence for the case, Snoop almost dies. 

Messi put on a world-class acting performance for the intense scene as he ‘played dead’ and managed to remain completely still even while being picked up.

Although it now seems like acting came naturally for Messi, in reality, Laura said it was a long and slow process and they had to start out by focusing on basics such as sitting, staying and lying down.

They then added cameras and boom mics so Messi would get used to the idea of being on a film set, as well as surrounding noise.

Laura worked hard to make sure Messi’s attention always stayed on her and managed it with the help of tasty treats. 

To land his coveted role in Anatomy Of A Fall, it took seven or eight in-person auditions, including a chemistry test with Milo, who plays Daniel. 

They trained every day for two months for the ‘playing dead’ scene, teaching him not to react even when being picked up, and managing to stick his tongue out to heighten the dead effect. 

On Sunday night at the Oscars, Anatomy of a Fall writers Justine Triet and Arthur Harari won the award for Best Original Screenplay, adding to a stellar awards season that has seen them claim, two Golden Globes, the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival and a BAFTA, also for Best Original Screenplay. 

But Messi himself was the star of the show – even featuring in a promotional video with Jimmy Kimmel before the ceremony began, where he barked at the comedian’s jokes. 

He also concluded the ceremony with a video of him appearing to wee on Matt Damon’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. 

His starring moment came when he appeared to be ‘clapping’ the Iron Man star after his Best Supporting Actor win for Oppenheimer. 

While behind-the-scenes images revealed the moment to have been cleverly engineered with the use of two fake paws, that didn’t stop social media users from voicing their delight over the French dog’s appearance, with one hailing the pup as the ‘true star’ of this year’s ceremony. 

Other behind-the-scenes clips shared to social media that Messi’s ‘clapping’ moment had in fact been pre-recorded and was not part of the live Oscars broadcast, that didn’t stop the dog from becoming one of the most talked-about stars of the night. 

Some couldn’t help but gush over a clip that appears to show Ryan, 43, breaking into a huge grin at seeing the dog perched in his very own seat at the ceremony, looking incredibly dapper in a bow tie. 

Adding to seven-year-old Messi’s rising profile was a mention by host Jimmy Kimmel in his opening monologue, with the comedian joking that Messi ‘gave the performance of the year’. 

‘Messi, who even though he’s a dog, may have given the performance of the year in Anatomy of a Fall,’ Kimmel joked. ‘Messi has an overdose scene, if you’ve seen it you’ve known it. It’s incredible.

‘Honestly I haven’t seen a French actor eat his own vomit like that since Gérard Depardieu.’

Messi’s attendance at the ceremony came as a surprise to fans – after it was reported just days before the awards show that the French-based pooch would not travel to Los Angeles for the Oscars, despite already earning himself a reputation as one of this season’s most beloved guests. 

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, a source from Anatomy of a Fall claimed that Border Collie Messi would not travel from his native France to California for the awards show. 

But as the ceremony began to kick off, Messi was seen making his way to a reserved seat alongside his trainer and owner Laura Martin, who sat beside the pup throughout the awards show. 

Earlier this year, Messi’s trainer Laura opened up about his sudden fame, explaining that the attention on her pup began at Cannes – but quickly skyrocketed in the US. 

‘All of this attention began at Cannes,’ she told The Hollywood Reporter. 

‘There were a few interviews in France but what we’ve been experiencing here in America — with the attention to this dog and his acting — it’s beyond anything we anticipated. It’s probably the maximum that you can accomplish in this field.’

Although Messi was not nominated for an Oscar, much to the upset of his biggest fans, he did walk away from this year’s Cannes Film Festival with an unofficial trophy: the Palm Dog – the canine equivalent to the prestigious Palme d’Or. 

Palm Dog awards have previously gone to the pooches of famous owners, such as Tilda Swinton and Quentin Tarantino – so Messi’s win from obscurity is unusual.  

After proving his acting chops in the five-time Oscar-nominated movie, Messi earned a place among some of this year’s biggest stars when he was invited to the annual nominees’ luncheon in Los Angeles – earning some one-on-one time with several A-list stars. 

‘The big moment was with Billie Eilish, who bonded with Messi for almost 10 minutes,’ trainer Laura told The Hollywood Reporter. 

‘They were hugging and petting and they really had a vibe. Then Bradley Cooper bumped into him in the hallway. The dog went right to him, so they also had a connection.’

Messi even reprised his ‘playing dead’ trick from Anatomy of a Fall, falling Gosling with his antics who rushed over to help him, before placing his hand over his heart when he realised Messi had only been pretending.

Emma Stone also could not believe it, telling Variety at the Oscars luncheon: ‘The dog pretended to die inside of the room! And everyone was really worried… but then the dog was like ‘hello’ and everybody was like ‘he’s an actor!’ It was crazy!’ 

The dog seems to have cemented his status amongst Hollywood royalty as he is gaining more and more A-list pals.  

At a live reading of the film last month, where he once again played Snoop, he also snuggled up to director Olivia Wilde. 

Messi seems to be enjoying life in the USA so far, and has spent time running along the sands of Venice Beach during his time in the USA – as documented by Laura on their Instagram account @lauraandmessi.  

Messi’s next role is set to be in a French TV show, although his trainer Laura said this is yet to be confirmed.  

Kim Kardashian shed light on her children’s love of sports this weekend.

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star, 43, took to Instagram on Saturday to reveal that her son Saint, eight, who she shares with ex Kanye West, had been picked for ‘the All Star Team’ and shared that he was ‘playing so well ‘ .

In another nod to Saint’s passion for sports, she shared a video the next day of Saint acting as a mascot for soccer legend Lionel Messi.

As LA Galaxy played against Messi’s team Inter Miami, which is co-owned by David Beckham, Saint walked onto the pitch with the football legend, in the ritual of football matches where children lead the players to the speech.

Kim, who also co-parents North, 10, Chicago, five, and youngest son Psalm, four, with Kanye, admitted her son is “living the absolute dream” with his sporting scores.

During Saturday’s basketball game, Kim proudly shared a video of the game and wrote, “Saint made the All Star team. They won and he played so well.”

His great weekend of sporting fun continued the next day, with his appearance alongside Messi at the football match.

After the match against Inter Miami, Kim shared the sweet video with her 75.1 million Twitter followers and wrote the caption: ‘Saint Messi walking onto the pitch tonight during the match between La Galaxy and Inter Miami!!! He’s living the absolute dream!’

Kim has made no secret of Saint’s passion for sport, with the star calling herself a ‘soccer mum’ in December. She shared a photo of her dinner at PF Chang, showing Saint’s eight football trading cards on the table.

“What a soccer mom dinner looks like,” she wrote on the photo. Among the collectibles was a 2022-2023 Topps Merlin Chrome UEFA Ageless Alchemy card featuring former Brazilian footballer Roberto Carlos.

Kim has often been pictured attending her son’s matches, and last year she even took her ‘soccer-obsessed’ offspring to a number of professional matches.

While at PF Chang’s, Kim also shared her fortune cookie with the caption, “The day is near when you share your talent with the world,” to which she hilariously replied, “Finally.”

For his eighth birthday, Saint celebrated his birthday with a football-themed party – with his cake in the shape of a larger-than-life football. Kim transformed the backyard of her $60 million mansion into a footballer’s paradise.

Saint and his friends ran around the backyard, which was filled with different inflatables and setups that helped them work on their soccer skills, like kicking and scoring goals.

All partygoers also received a unique gift: a white Adidas football shirt with ‘Best in the West’ on the front and the name of Saint Nicholas and the number eight on the back.

Saint also paid tribute to his sporting hero Neymar on his birthday by getting a new haircut to imitate one of his favorite players.

In October, the youngster had his curly locks cut into Neymar’s signature mohawk before dressing up as a ‘zombie version’ of the Brazilian player for Halloween.

Saint went one step further this month and had the tips of his locks dyed bright blonde to emulate the footballer’s signature style.

David Beckham was spotted leaving Dignity Stadium in Carson, California, after failing to show up to celebrate his team’s stoppage-time equalizer.

The 48-year-old Inter Miami owner looked dapper in a navy blue suit with his team’s badge on the pocket, which he paired with a light blue shirt and tie.

The father of four was accompanied by two of his sons, Brooklyn, 24, and Cruz, 19, but two other children, Romeo, 21, and Harper, 12, appeared to be absent.

David was pictured watching the match from a box before leaving the stadium following the clash between LA Galaxy and Inter Miami.

David watched from a suite with Brooklyn and Cruz, as well as Hollywood stars Liv Tyler and Edward Norton. His other son Romeo did not appear to be present at the match.

Romeo announced on Instagram on Sunday that he had split from his girlfriend, Mia Regan, 21, saying they were better as friends.

It was noted that David during the match seemed to stop herself from celebrating afterwards Lionel Messi‘s dramatic equalizer against his former club LA Galaxy.

Messi rescued a point for Inter Miami on Sunday evening, scoring in stoppage time as Tata Martino’s side came from behind to draw 1-1 at Dignity Health Sports Park.

After Messi reversed a Jordi Alba putback, David’s box exploded with emotion as those around him were on their feet and celebrating with each other.

The goal ensured Miami maintained its undefeated start to the 2024 MLS season in front of a star-studded crowd.

But cameras showed David sitting down with a straight face as people next to him toasted Messi’s goal.

David spent five years as a Galaxy player between 2007 and 2012 and helped the club win two MLS Cups before leaving for Paris Saint-Germain.

Just hours before the match started, David was seen signing autographs, posing for photos and waving to fans of his former team.

A communal TV experience shared across all 50 American states and beyond, this year’s event  – won by Kansas City Chiefs for the third time in five years – drew in an average 114 million viewers across the globe. 

No surprise, given NFL games have made up an impressive 93 of the top 100 broadcast programs across the United States over the last year. 

That kind of attention brings in big money, big brands and even bigger celebrities – as every commercial break that interspersed the Chiefs’ victory over San Francisco 49ers illustrated.  

Indeed, companies have forked out close to $7 million a piece for a 30-second spot in the hope of capitalizing on the commercial buzz with a series of high-profile celebrity endorsements. 

Only a Super Bowl could encourage Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez to flog donuts, Sir Anthony Hopkins to play a football mascot and the classically trained Patrick Stewart climbing a ‘mountain of entertainment.’ 

But who else featured during Sunday night’s extravaganza? Here is a roundup of this year’s standouts.

DUNKIN’ DONUTS 

Dunkin Donuts has finally unveiled their full Super Bowl ad featuring Ben Affleck trying to start his pop music career in a rather hilarious fashion.

After numerous teases over the past week featuring influencer Charli D’Amelio, Dunkin Donuts has released their full Super Bowl spot during the first half of the big game.

The earlier teases showed the 51-year-old actor and filmmaker trying to break into the music biz, though the full ad revealed who was helping him along the way, including his childhood friend Matt Damon.

The ad spawned mixed reactions from fans on social media, with some calling it the best of the night and some calling it ‘cringe’ during the game, which the Kansas City Chiefs won 25-22 over the favorited San Francisco 49ers in overtime.

The ad begins with Lopez, 54, in a recording studio, with a bejeweled custom Dunkin’ cup at her side, while Jack Harlow tries to talk Affleck out of it.

‘I don’t think you should do this,’ Harlow says, though Affleck explains why he has to do this.

‘Last year she came to my work. Now I’ve gotta show her what I can do,’ Affleck insists, while, inside the studio, JLo is told that Affleck is here… which she’s not happy about.

Affleck bursts through the door stating, ‘What up, Brooklyn! For your consideration, here comes the Boston Massacre,’ Affleck says, as Lopez closes her eyes in disbelief.

A banner unfurls behind Affleck as he reveals his group is called The Dunkings, revealing that he has NFL legend Tom Brady on the keyboard.

Affleck adds that his ‘partner’ needs no introduction as he throws it over to a downtrodden Matt Damon, who says, ‘Sometimes it’s really hard to be your friend.’

Affleck adds, ‘You said you were gonna support me?’ before Affleck and his Dunkings break into the song.

Fat Joe arrives and leans over Lopez, who is still in disbelief, as Damon riffs off his famous Good Will Hunting line and says, ‘How do you like those… donuts… I’m so sorry.’

Affleck adds, ‘You had to see it, but I forgive you. Lay us on the track,’ as Brady asks, ‘Are we gonna be on the album?’

Lopez adds, ‘We talked about this,’ as Affleck adds, ‘That’s cold. You’re blinded by those pinstripes,’ referring to his Boston Red Sox’s rival the New York Yankees.

He adds, ‘There goes Babe Ruth’ as he walks into the bannr, while JLo says Tom Brady can stay as the others leave.

Outside, Damon tells Affleck, ‘Remember when I told you I’d do anything for you? This is anything,’ as Affleck responds, ‘Chill, they’re naming a drink after us,’ as the ad comes to an end. 

VERIZON 

Beyoncé surprised fans by teasing forthcoming new music as she stunned in a Verizon Super Bowl ad — for which she reportedly received a $30million payout — on Sunday.

The 42-year-old icon — who attended the big game alongside other notable stars — moved through various personas in the minute-long commercial, attempting to ‘break the internet’ with over-the-top performances.

It comes after days earlier the phone company teased the singer’s appearance in the advert with two brief bits shared on social media.

In one clip, actor Tony Hale squeezed lemons behind a lemonade stand and said: ‘Hold up, she wants me to squeeze all these lemons by myself? This better work.’

The clue was a reference to the pop star’s 2016 surprise Lemonade visual album. 

And just like she did in eight years ago, the Grammy-winning musician blew fans away on Sunday as she dropped two new singles.

As she announced an upcoming album, a country-genre follow-up to 2022’s Renaissance, she also released two new singles in tandem.

Along with the music came breathtaking artwork, which included a very scantily clad Beyoncé, who posed pantless.

In one snapshot, she put on a very busty display as she wore a silver hardware bra underneath a cropped black blazer.

The caption to her 319 million followers, she wrote, ‘TEXAS HOLD ‘EM and 16 CARRIAGES out now.’

The 16 CARRIAGES artwork was a closeup black and white image of Beyoncé — full name Beyoncé Knowles Carter — in a black cowboy hat.

She rocked a voluminous and wispy bob haircut underneath the headgear.

And the Houston, Texas native was clad in a black cowboy shirt with stud detailing around the collar.

UBER EATS 

David and Victoria Beckham have been praised by Super Bowl viewers for their hilarious commercial for Uber Eats.

The former footballer, 48, and his fashion designer wife, 49, were called the ‘best part’ of the night, with several fans saying they were ‘still laughing’ over the hysterical advert.

The star-studded commercial plays on the premise that to remember what Uber Eats delivers you have to forget something else and ‘make a little room in your brain.’

It also features appearances from Friends stars Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer, rapper Jelly Roll and singer Usher.

The ad sees people forgetting important details, like Jennifer not remembering who David is or Jelly Roll forgetting he has face tattoos.

One scene shows the Beckhams in their kitchen, with David saying to former Spice Girl Victoria: ‘Remember when you used to be a Pepper Lady?’

Victoria, who is hilariously wearing a T-shirt that reads ‘David’s wife’ responds: ‘Wasn’t it the Cinnamon Sisters?’

David then suggests: ‘Basil Babes?’ while Victoria guesses: ‘Paprika Girls’ leading David to scoff: ‘No that’s absurd.’ 

The funny clip was praised on social media, with one person gushing: ‘My favorite couple Victoria and David Beckham on the #SuperBowl ads. Truly keeps giving!’

STATE FARM  

State Farm debuted its highly-anticipated new Super Bowl commercial, reuniting  Arnold Schwarzenegger with his Twins and Junior co-star Danny DeVito.

Off the top of the hilarious advert, a man comes running out of a burning home with two puppies in hand seconds before a fiery explosion.

Once the smoke and fire clear it becomes apparent that it’s the Terminator himself, Arnold Schwarzenegger, who’s the hero, as he hands a mother of two the two dogs.

‘Thank you Agent State Farm,’ the women tells the former California governor, who’s dressed in the insurance company’s trademark red shirt and tan khakis.

‘Like a good neighbaaa State Farm is there,’ he shoots back, in a classic mispronunciation of the word neighbor, which the director tries to correct after one take amid a movie-like set.

‘Hey Arnold, I’m hearing neighba. It’s neighbor,’ he tells the actor, who responds by saying, ‘That’s what I said neighba.’

The two proceed to go back and forth about how to pronounce the world neighbor.

Frustrated by his lack of being able to properly pronounce the word the director announces, ‘Let’s go again.’

The shoot picks back up with Schwarzenegger piloting a stationary helicopter in a CGI sequence where he again drops the company’s trademark line: ‘Like a good neighbaaa State Farm is there.’

And once again, the two have the same problem, forcing the director to yell ‘cut’.

Enter actor Kevin Miles, best known as Jake From State Farm, who proceeds to try and educate Schwarzenegger on the proper way to say ‘neighbor’.

‘Yea, neighbaaa, just like it’s written on the papaaa,’ he tells Jake while holding the script for the production.

Eventually, during the world premiere of ‘Agent State Farm’ a new clip is shown on the large movie screen, only Danny DeVito has now joined the cast, as part of the director’s script change.

The two try to do the trademark line together, only Arnold pauses to hear how his Twins co-star does a perfect take.

‘Like a good neighbor State Farm is there,’ De Vito says perfectly, prompting a nod of frustration from his co-star.

In the last scene, the two actors are seen sitting together in the theater seats when Schwarzenegger turns to him and says: ‘You are a backstabbaaa,’ for which DeVito corrects him one last time: ‘I am a backstabber.’ 

STōK COLD BREW COFFEE 

Wrexham A.F.C. features in an ad for STōK Cold Brew Coffee, also starring Welsh actor Sir Anthony Hopkins.

After gearing himself up with a pep talk, Hopkins dons a Wrex the Dragon costume, the football club’s mascot.

‘Now hear me roar!’ Hopkins shouts before popping on a giant red dragon head and running along the field as the crowd erupts in cheers.

Languishing in the locker room after his performance, Hopkins says: ‘Ironically it is the cold brew that births the fire-breathing dragon,’ before taking a refreshing sip of the beverage.

It is revealed that the drink is the team’s official sponsor.

SQUARESPACE  

Squarespace called on Martin Scorsese and his daughter Francesca for their Super Bowl spot.

The ad plays heavily on their 57-year age gap, with the famed director telling his daughter he’s trying to make a ‘really, really short film. Like 30 seconds’ about a website.

This prompts Francesca to teach her father how websites work, starting with domains, before pulling up the website-building platform.

The filmmaker criticizes Francesca’s choice of fonts before they settle on one that earns his approval.

‘This website slaps, kid, doesn’t it?’ Scorsese wisecracks, much to the embarrassment of his daughter.

‘I really regret ever teaching you that,’ she says.

NYX COSMETICS 

‘It’s time to pump yourself up baby,’ Cari B declared in her new and controversial commercial that aired during the Super Bowl LVIII broadcast from Las Vegas.

A 30-second spot for NYX Cosmetics was approved by NFL representatives, but it turns out the second half of the original 60-second spot was deemed to be NSFW (not safe for work).

The rapper, 31, showcased her womanly curves in a skin-tight bright orange bodysuit as she advertised the company’s Duck Plump Lip Gloss. 

While dancing on stage with an array of colorful characters, the Shake It starlet could be heard seductively purring like a kitty just before she demanded: ‘Be bigger. So big. Plumper,’ which led to her to tell her audience to ‘feel the plumping power.’

‘New Duck Plump Lip Gloss from NYX Professional Makeup,’ she announced at the end of the segment.

It turns out before airing during the Super Bowl the original commercial was cut down to 30-seconds due to its sexual connotations.

As a result, the second half of the spot, the last 15 seconds, fades to black and then shows a QR code directing viewers to watch the unedited, 60 second version that’s now being shared across across NYX Professional Makeup’s YouTube and social channels, according to Billboard.

The uncut version was released on the internet ahead of the kickoff for the big game, garnering more than two million views on YouTube by press time. 

PARAMOUNT+

Paramount Plus recruited English acting legend Sir Patrick Stewart for its Super Bowl spot, where he stars alongside a hodgepodge of characters from the network’s franchises.

Stewart joins Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and Drew Barrymore as the trio embark on a trip up ‘Paramount Mountain,’ with the star athlete quipping: ‘If it were a football, I’d be able to reach the top.’

‘How about a football-shaped head?’ Stewart asks before turning to the titular character from the animated series ‘Hey Arnold!’

A debate about the morality of throwing a child ensues before Stewart reveals he is wearing a football uniform. He lobs Arnold through the air – only for the animated character to faceplant into the side of the mountain.

The network promises ‘a mountain of entertainment’ through its streaming platform.

BMW

Christopher Walken stars in the BMW ‘Talkin like Walken’ ad, playing himself as he meets a series of celebrities who all try to imitate him.

The Queens native grows increasingly frustrated as barbers, waiters and drive-thru workers attempt to nail his distinctive New York accent.

A notable face is Usher, this year’s halftime performer.

‘Don’t you got somewhere to be?’ Walken asks – a nod to his big night.

The ad closes with the tagline: ‘There’s only one Christopher Walken. And only one ultimate driving machine.’

DORITOS 

Two grandmothers engage in a car chase with ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ actor Danny Ramirez, who has swiped the last pack of Doritos from a store shelf.  

They pursue him on their mobility scooters before ziplining to kick him to the floor and take back the chips. 

Just when they think the chips them all to themselves, Wednesday star Jenny Ortega reappears to politely take the bag from their hands.

MOUNTAIN DEW 

Aubrey Plaza puts the drink brand’s tagline ‘having a blast’ to the test in this advert. 

In her well-known deadpan delivery, Plaza shares how drinking a Mountain Dew can liven up any situation. 

She goes to a pool party, busts a move at a disco and even flies on a dragon with her ‘Parks and Recreation’ co-star Nick Offerman.

M&M’S 

M&Ms indulged in a star-studded advert where the chocolate company shows off its new ring, promising to gift to the runners-up of the Super Bowl. 

With help from ‘almost champions’ Dan Marino, Terrell Owens and Bruce Smith, the chocolatiers say they have transformed peanut butter M&Ms into diamonds. 

Scarlett Johansson even makes a guest appearance.

OREO 

Oreo’s ad imagines people through history using an Oreo to make difficult decisions. 

They twist the Oreo and then if the frosting is on the right side, they make one choice, and if it is on the left they make another, like flipping a coin. 

Kris Jenner uses the technique in the early 2000s to decide if her family should appear in a new reality show.

POPEYES  

Fast food chain Popeyes splashed out on a 60-second spot featuring actor and comedian Ken Jeong. 

In the ad, Jeong has been cryogenically frozen for 52 years to live until the invention of the best chicken wing. 

When he awakes he discovers the Popeyes chicken wing as well as driverless cars, drones and massage chairs. 

PRINGLES  

A gas station clerk points out that Chris Pratt with a moustache looks like the Pringles man.

She shares a photo of him online and he goes viral. 

‘What happens when Chris Pratt grows a stache and suddenly looks like Mr. P?’ the ad asks. ‘Well, the world can’t unsee it.’ 

T-MOBILE

Jason Momoa showed off his singing skills in a T-Mobile advert, teaming up with ‘Scrubs’ costars Zach Braff and Donald Faison.

Braff and Faison welcome the actor to their neighborhood with a song and dance.

The ‘Aquaman’ star sings, does a flip, gets doused with water and crosses paths with ‘Flashdance’ movie actress Jennifer Beals, who makes a surprise cameo.

Ik breng een week door op het grootste cruiseschip ter wereld, Royal Caribbean's Icon of the Seas – en zo is het.

Terwijl ik aan boord ga, stel ik mezelf een uitdaging: proberen alles te ervaren wat Icon of the Seas te bieden heeft. Ik heb een week – is het überhaupt mogelijk?

Als dat zo is, ben ik van plan om te vangen POV-beelden van alles: zeven zwembaden, zes recordbrekende glijbanen en de nieuwe sensatie 'Crown's Edge' – een touwenparcours op grote hoogte waar je aan de zijkant van het schip bungelt, 50 meter boven de golven. Klinkt eng? Geloof me, dat is zo!

Wat het eerst de aandacht trekt, is niet een van deze dingen.

In plaats daarvan is het het oogverblindende decor. Technicolor is een understatement. Zitjes, schommels, drankjes, glijbanen en de carrousel – ja, het schip heeft een draaimolen op ware grootte – knallen in alle tinten van de regenboog, net als de gigantische roze flamingo-mascotte van het schip!

En daar stopt het niet. Ik krijg een voorproefje van zijn nieuwe hut van £ 116.000 per week ($ 147.000), genaamd het 'Ultimate Family Townhouse', dat qua kleur niet in de hitlijsten staat. Het is een suite van drie verdiepingen voor zes personen, met een trap die speelt als een piano, en een binnenglijbaan en trampoline.

Het is misschien wel de helderste accommodatie ter wereld, en ongelooflijk (gezien het prijskaartje) is het voor het komende jaar uitverkocht.

De omvang van deze kolos is overal ter wereld een onderwerp van gesprek en uit mijn hoge aantal stappen (ik klok gemiddeld 10.000 stappen per dag als ik alleen maar rondloop) blijkt duidelijk dat Icon enorm is.

Maar pas als we aanmeren op Coco Cay, het privé-Bahamaanse eiland van Royal Caribbean, komt het echt tot ons door. Als we aankomen is er al een van de kleinere schepen van Royal Caribbean, Vision of the Seas. Als we ernaast parkeren, is het zicht bijna komisch – net als Klein en Groot!

Bovenaan de achtersteven van Icon flitst als een baken het recordbrekende categorie 6-waterpark van het schip, het grootste dat ooit op een cruiseschip is gebouwd.

De zes dia's hebben stormgerelateerde namen, maar voor mij is de Frightening Bolt-drop-dia te eng, sorry.

In plaats daarvan ga ik op weg naar de roze Hurricane Hunter-vlotglijbaan, die bochtig blijkt te zijn en psychedelisch plezier wordt.

Dan is het tijd voor de groene Storm Surge-glijbaan, die de rijders omhoog, omlaag en rond laat suizen en ze zenuwslopend achterwaarts laat draaien – met overdreven opgewonden gepiep en blauwe taal.

Uiteindelijk ga ik richting Pressure Drop, de eerste open vrije val-glijbaan op zee met een angstaanjagend steile helling van 66 graden.

Het duurt een eeuwigheid voordat ik de moed heb verzameld om het te doen, en enkele minuten nadat ik op de bodem ben neergestort, ben ik in shock! Toptip: stel het niet uit, maar ga gewoon.

Uur na uur worden delen van Icon van de lijst afgevinkt.

Ik ervaar The Pearl – een gigantische roze kunstinstallatie in het hart van het schip. Ik vind het omhullende Promenade Deck.

En ik breng tijd door in elk van de zeven zwembaden van Icon – één voor elke dag van de week. Ik geniet van een G&T in de allereerste swim-up bar van Royal Caribbean, Swim & Tonic.

En ik neem deel aan een comedyshow en alle belangrijke theaterproducties van het schip: de acrobatische watershow in de AquaDome, de schaatsshow op de ijsbaan en een lange musical van Wizard of Oz waarin Dorothy op haar gemak over het publiek vliegt. hemelbed. Je moet het zien om het te geloven.

Door alle 40 restaurants en bars van Icon heen ploegen blijkt lastiger en ik geef het op, maar ik vind wel lekker eten. Ongelooflijk, ik krijg hier een upgrade aangeboden en mijn hut en het panoramische raam vallen op.

Na vier dagen heb ik nog steeds de surfsimulator of klimmuur van Icon niet uitgeprobeerd of één winkel bezocht, maar ik schrijf me wel in voor Crown's Edge, een gloednieuwe attractie van Royal Caribbean.

Het torent hoog uit boven het bovendek en is een hybride hindernis- en zipline-parcours waarmee je 50 meter aan de zijkant van het schip boven de golven zoeft en bungelt. This is it. The lumbering, slobbering, glowing apex predator of the cruise industry, weighing 250,000 tons and measuring 1,150 feet in length – Royal Caribbean's Icon of the Seas, the largest cruise ship in history.

It's been many years in the making – and now it's finally out at sea. And honestly, so am I.

The experience of boarding the inaugural sailing in Miami is overwhelming. In front of me is a work of art that resembles a giant golf ball and a swarm of Royal Caribbean employees, all in orange T-shirts, standing there. Nearby, a man holds a clipboard next to a life-size bronze statue of, for some reason, a dog defecating on a lamppost.

My short trip coincides with the launch of a partnership between Royal Caribbean and the Inter Miami football team, including Lionel Messi. They are an irresistible couple. The greatest footballer of all time, adopted by the greatest cruise ship of all time. Somewhat predictably, Royal Caribbean has called Messi “the icon of the icon.”

With the size, the hyperbole, and the sheer strangeness, it takes 24 hours to acclimatize. At first I hardly know which way I'm looking. And even if I am in the know, I don't turn a blind eye when I see a huge plastic flamingo, nor when I am attacked by two exuberant Mexicans with sportswear that resembles a donut and a fried egg.

'How did you sleep?' the Donut asks in a sing-song falsetto. Not bad, I say. 'Don't forget to wash your hands!' chimes in the fried egg.

This colorful madness is a world unto itself. Hardly influenced by the waves, it moves according to its own rhythms and rules.

Rule 1. You can get what you want. A breakfast cocktail? Help yourself. Basketball? No problem. A climbing wall? A shopping mall? We've got you covered, sir.

Rule 2. Participate. There are so many activities available that it would be a crime not to try them out. It's a chance to do things you love, and a few things you've never done before.

I explore the water slides, which stretch across the upper deck like bleeding organs. The pressure drop is not a problem, as it turns out. But the Frightening Bolt is full-on.

One morning I try the fastest growing game in America. Pickleball is played on a small court, with a small plastic bat and a plastic ball. It's easy to pick up and loads of fun.

That afternoon I take part in a napkin folding course. Because I think: if not now, then when? There is confusion and there is no teacher. Luckily, another gambler – Mike from Dallas – works in the hospitality industry and steps in to take the class. I soon became absurdly proud of my Diamond Fold. Returning to my room, I fold all the linens and towels into diamond shapes.

My 'stateroom' is nice, by the way. Not huge, but cleverly put together, with a balcony and sea views. All that for about €2,600 per week.

For larger expenses there is the Ultimate Family Townhouse. Spread over three floors, with eight sleeping places, a musical staircase and a slide. It can be yours for €70,000 per week.

After building the world's largest passenger ship, with the world's largest suspended infinity pool at sea and the world's largest floating water park (and so on), it's unconvincing for Royal Caribbean to claim it has no obsession with size. “The size issue happened by accident,” emphasizes Jay Schneider, the company's chief product innovation officer. 'It was never our intention to make the largest ship in the world. We just wanted it to be the most iconic.”

But every few years the company makes a ship that is a meter longer than the previous one. It's oops, we did it again.

More compelling is the company's claim that it has created the world's best vacation for kids. Forget Disneyland Paris. This theme park floats. It will be pure heaven for the little ones.

They might even play pickleball against some of the world's greatest soccer players. At the end of my trip, for the naming ceremony, the entire Inter Miami team – including Luis Suarez and Messi themselves, appear on the ship in their pink strips. As a reward, they receive vouchers that allow them and their family members to take a cruise at any time.

That must be some consolation for Messi – who, according to Forbes, has earned an estimated $1.15 billion (900 million euros) in his career to date.

A suitably crazy spectacle follows in the spectacular Aqua Dome. There's a bagpipe performance by a rock band called the Red Hot Chilli Pipers; blessings from a rabbi and a priest. Then the great Lionel Messi dutifully slams a barrel of Veuve Clicquot against the hull and says: 'I call this ship Icon of the Sea.'

And the job is done – until the next largest cruise ship in the world comes along.

Romeo Beckham and his girlfriend Mia Regan have left the family nest as they start 2024 with an exciting new chapter in their relationship.

The couple have moved out of the Beckhams' £31million home into an apartment together – with Romeo becoming the latest Beckham son to spread his wings.

And it looks like the couple's new spot is starting to take shape as the duo have started sharing photos of their new digs on social media.

Taking to Instagram, Romeo, 21, shared a photo of their new apartment as he showed off the impressive living space.

The footballer stood in the middle of the reception room, which had a stylish wooden floor, bright white spotlights and white painted walls.

The fitted kitchen, complete with white tiles, was on display in the snap, but what stood out most was the large number of black sockets that also adorned the wall behind Romeo.

The back wall was covered in a series of black rectangles, suggesting the couple will have no problem purchasing extension cords.

Although the location of the flat is unknown, Romeo and Mia appeared to have moved into an apartment in Battersea as images from Mia's Instagram suggested the pair could see the power station from their window.

In another photo taken at Christmas, Romeo gave fans a sneaky look at the couple's living room as he posed next to their huge Christmas tree.

The main reception has a purple glow and a neon LED light with the text Hello Beautiful hangs on the wall.

Romeo has also hung a Messi football shirt on the wall and family photos line the window frame. The sporting legend plays for Romeo's famous father David's team Inter Miami CF.

The room also features a shoe rack against the wall and a coffee table, complete with incense sticks. Romeo is already kitting out the place with some personalized artwork as he shared a photo of a piece by artist Diogo Snow.

Smiling as he held the large frame, Romeo wrote: “My broooo @diogo_snow.”

In another blurry photo, a large flat-screen TV hangs on the wall and the couple has decorated the other areas with a collection of prints.

Mia also shared her love of cooking on Instagram and gave a little sneak peek of the couple's worktop.

Complete with a wooden knife block, electric hob and luxury coffee maker, the model laid out her ingredients as she prepared for dinner.

The star is not only following in the footsteps of his father's football career, but has also inherited David's love of Lego.

David previously revealed he likes playing with Lego because it 'helps him relax' and it seems Romeo also likes to build with the bricks.

The star shared an impressive model of a Lego Concorde he built, as it sat proudly on the oak table by the window.

He also shared a photo of another work in progress that sat on the couple's oak dining table.

Romeo shares his dad's love of cars after he was seen driving around London in an £80,000 Maserati Levante in May last year, and the star won't have any problem parking as he shared a photo of the property's underground car park apartment.

He also shared a photo of the building's lobby, which features an industrial-looking waiting area and a white couch.

Romeo and Mia started dating in May 2019, but it wasn't until a year later that Mia made her first appearance on Romeo's Instagram when they made their relationship “red carpet official.”

It is believed that the toll of a long-distance relationship and their conflicting work schedules ultimately contributed to the breakup with Romeo pursuing a football career in Miami, Florida.

And Romeo has reportedly left his football career in the US behind him after he and Mia struggled with a long-distance relationship.

The football star decided to permanently join West London club Brentford B instead of his father's club Inter Miami CF II as he reignited things with his beloved girlfriend.

Since getting back together, the pair appear to be closer than ever and have now taken the next step by moving into their own home together.

And David Beckham and Harper showed off their strong father-daughter bond as they walked the streets of the Big Apple this week.

The Inter Miami owner, 48, wrapped Harper, 12, in a big bear hug as they stepped out together after lunch at Sadelle’s restaurant in the city’s SoHo.

The duo flashed bright smiles as they put on a playful show, as Harper proved she’s a daddy’s girl in every way.

David and Harper were closely followed by the former footballer’s youngest son, Cruz, 18, who joined them for lunch with hairdresser Ken Paves.

David looked stylish as ever in a suede shearling jacket, which he teamed with dark jeans, a navy blue beanie and a pair of suede lace-up boots.

Harper cut a trendy figure in a navy blue ribbed sweater, which she wore with jeans and sneakers, accessorized with gold hoop earrings.

The family enjoyed some quality time together this week with a celebratory trip to New York City.

Earlier this week, David took to Instagram to share a slew of snaps from the escape as he went ice skating with Harper before climbing to the top of the towering Rockefeller Building.

The pair wrapped themselves in scarves against the winter weather as they playfully posed for the camera and even ate a huge New York sandwich like the locals.

David, who also shares sons Brooklyn, 24, Romeo, 21, and Cruz, 18, with wife Victoria, 49, could then be seen struggling to remove a skate from his daughter’s foot as she collapsed in giggle fits.

It comes after the Daily Mail revealed David wasn’t entirely thrilled with the way he watched the recent four-part Netflix documentary about him.

Sources say there was some unhappiness about his hair, which was shaved before Beckham’s premiere, and even a little dissatisfaction with his handsome face.

One viewer tweeted: ‘My conclusion from watching…is that David Beckham’s Botox match is in the premier league. And his hair and beard colorist deserves a medal.”
