A common photo of a ‘small town girl’ enjoying a night out at a club in far north Queensland has Australians across the country claiming the teenager should be a model.

Murri woman Ryli Johnson traveled to Townsville for a weekend getaway with her boyfriend Tyreice Baira Gela and a few friends.

The group were enjoying a night out at The Bank Nightclub on Saturday when the club’s photographer casually snapped a photo of the 19-year-old and her boyfriend.

Ryli said she didn’t think much of the photo of the smiling couple, which was shared on the club’s Facebook page.

Some social media users said her boyfriend Tyreice shared a resemblance to Melbourne Storm NRL winger Xavier Coates.

However, the photo sparked a slew of comments from Aussies who were taken aback by Ryli’s ‘natural’ beauty, with many claiming she should pursue a career in modeling.

Murri woman Ryli Johnson was pictured with her boyfriend Tyreice Baira Gela at The Bank nightclub in Townsville

“Send her to a modeling agency, she is naturally beautiful,” one person commented.

‘She is the definition of beauty. Someone signed her up,” a second person wrote.

“Tell me this girl is modeling professionally. She’s beautiful,” said a third.

A fourth added: “So she should pursue a modeling career, so naturally beautiful inside and out.”

Ryli, who is from the rural town of Moree in north-west NSW, told Daily Mail Australia the response to her photo came as a shock.

“I don’t really wear makeup, but that night I didn’t put any makeup on at all and the guy asked if he could take a picture of us, not thinking it would be posted,” Ryli said.

‘It just started blowing up and my mum showed me all the reactions and I thought ‘what the heck’.

“Like I’m just a little black girl from Moree and all these people from the big city telling me to be a model was something I didn’t expect at all. It’s just crazy.’

Ryli, from the small rural area of Moree in north-west NSW, said the response had been ‘overwhelming’.

Ryli currently lives with her father in Port Macquarie and is considering a move to Brisbane if her application to Qantas as a customer service representative is successful.

Growing up, Ryli said a few people had mentioned that she was considering modeling, but the comments were made in passing and she dismissed them as if they were a joke.

However, the teen said the reaction to her photo has given her the “drive” and confidence to possibly pursue a career in modeling.

“It’s given me a lot to think about and I feel like I might do some modeling,” Ryli said.

‘The reactions have given me a bit of drive and maybe I’ll enjoy it, or maybe it’ll even be a career change for me.’

Ryli said her father even drew comparisons to Victoria’s Secret model Miranda Kerr, who grew up in the rural NSW town of Gunnedah, just a two-hour drive from Moree.

If given the chance, Ryli said she would “take the chance” and “definitely give it a try.”

She added that one of her motivations if she were to work as a model would be to inspire other young First Nations and Indigenous girls to achieve their dreams.

“I would definitely shout out to people in my home community that there are definitely opportunities for us black girls,” Ryli said.

‘Anyone can do it. It’s possible, you know what I mean? For example, don’t stop dreaming; you will make it if you leave your small town life behind and go big.

“I’ve always wanted to make a difference in my home community because there’s a lot of violence, everyone is under the influence of drugs and alcohol and the crime rate is just ridiculous.”

Ryli said she would 'definitely' consider a modeling career if offered the opportunity and would use the platform to inspire other young Indigenous and First Nations girls

The extent of Ryli’s modeling career to date occurred when she was 12 years old and her mother entered her into an Aboriginal model search competition – which her cousin won.

She explained that her cousin was able to collaborate with indigenous fashion designer Gomeroi woman Auntie Colleen Tighe Johnson and even attended New York Fashion Week.

Last year, Ryli and her brother Bayli traveled to Ireland for the ITF Tag World Cup in Ireland.

The pair both won a bronze medal, Ryli as part of the Australian Indigenous Oztag women’s under-21 team and Bayli as part of the Alliance Rest of the World men’s under-21 team.

As they enjoyed their date night and had drinks at the club, Chantelle draped Ricci’s jacket over her shoulders as she beamed for photos.

A source said The sun the pair are officially in a ‘serious’ relationship and have fallen ‘head over heels’ for each other.

An insider said: ‘Chantelle and Ricci are officially dating and things got very serious very quickly – everyone was shocked but they seem so happy together. They’re booking holidays and seem head over heels.’

The pair were spotted partying with Love Island couple Anton Danyluk and Georgia Harrison in their first public appearance since leaving the villa.

Ricci joined Geordie Shore in 2011 and soon became engaged to former co-star Vicky. The couple eventually split in 2013.

The tumultuous couple spent hours drunkenly arguing on screen and despite almost a decade having passed, Ricci revealed last year that they are still ‘absolutely not’ on good terms.

Asked if they are speaking, he told The Sun: ‘No, certainly not. I wish her all the best. I think we’ve both matured a lot.”

Ricci returned for the show’s reunion last year without Vicky and said the experience was much more enjoyable because he was no longer “in a volatile relationship, kicking ass 24/7.”

Saying, “Things were pretty tough with Vicky back in the day.”

The exes then appeared together in 2014’s Ex on the Beach, which forced them to rekindle their failed relationship and start even more blazing feuds.

Ricci told the publication: “It was quite brutal. In a way, strangely enough, it has given us both great careers.”

Vicky is now happily engaged to former TOWIE star Ercan Ramadan.

Meanwhile, mum-of-one Chantelle first starred in Geordie Shore in 2016 but left after just one series claiming there was more to life than reality TV.

In 2019, she had a son Ricardo, who she shares with ex-boyfriend Lee Blackburn, who was sentenced to seven years in prison in 2012 over a £1million cocaine conspiracy.

The Melbourne mansion built by former reality stars Zana Pali and Gianni Romano has hit the market with an eye-watering list price of $11 million to $12 million.

The couple rose to fame on My Kitchen Rules in 2016 and later built the palatial luxury retreat from scratch for an estimated $5 million after purchasing the waterfront pad in 2021.

Located on the so-called 'Golden Mile' on Brighton's waterfront, the resort-style pad features five bedrooms, five bathrooms and an underground 'nightclub'.

The couple, who have been involved in real estate development for more than a decade, will continue to build other projects, the newspaper reports Herald Sun.

Sumptuous and opulent, the home's style is the ultimate in modern chic and features grand ceilings and beautiful accessories, including a travertine entrance and custom bronze doors.

Britain's largest nightclub operator has announced that 17 of its venues will close with immediate effect after going into administration.

Rekom UK, owner of brands including Atik and Pryzm, appointed administrators in January to conduct a review of its operations.

1

Rekom UK, owner of brands such as Atik and Pryzm, is closing 17 locations

Today it announced that 17 of its locations will close, while the remaining 24 'strong performing' locations have been sold or remain open and operating normally.

The nightclub operator said it had made “every effort” to redeploy affected staff to other parts of the business.

It added that 1,000 jobs had been saved but that “some redundancies” would be possible.

Bosses have moved to confirm that Rekom's restructuring will not affect its Nordic operations.

Peter Marks, Chairman of Rekom UK, continued: “We have informed all colleagues within the organization of the unfortunate developments that have taken place over the past 18 days.

“This outcome follows an extremely difficult period for the night-time sector, thanks to the combination of the cost of living crisis which is particularly hard hitting younger generations and students, and the rising national living wage alongside higher business rates and operating costs.

“While we continue to recognize that there are ongoing challenges for the night-time sector, we can now look to the future with optimism.

“We are confident that this restructuring gives Rekom UK a strong core domain that will continue to have a relevant and compelling business proposition in line with the changing social habits and behaviors of consumers.”

The full list of 17 locations closing with immediate effect is:

  • Basildon Unit 7
  • Birmingham PRYZM
  • Coventry JumpinJaks
  • Dartford ATIK
  • Exeter Unit 1
  • Kings Lynn Bar & Beyond

  • Romford ATIK
  • Swansea level 17
  • Watford PRYZM
  • Watford Steinbeck & Shaw
  • Windsor ATIK
  • Wrexham ATIK

In the meantime, 24 locations will remain open and continue to operate normally for the time being. The full list of locations that remain open is:

  • ATIK hull
  • ATIK Oxford
  • ATIK Tamworth
  • ATIK & Vinyl Gloucester
  • Bar & Beyond Chelmsford

Rekom was run as Deltic Group before falling into administration at the end of 2020.

It came after the severe consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic, but was subsequently bought by Scandinavian nightclub operator Rekom.

However, in early 2023, chairman Peter Marks said he was “desperately concerned” about the impact of the crisis on the cost of living for students, who he claimed were socializing less due to price pressures.

It comes at a time when the UK nightclub industry is taking a hit, with a number of venues closing in recent years.

High energy costs have crippled businesses and rising inflation has seen punters cut back on nights out.

In December, Pryzym closed the doors of one of its nine locations, leaving locals devastated.

Elsewhere, Britain's oldest casino closed for the final time after 195 years in business.

And a The popular Glasgow nightclub announced its shock closure in August.

What does going into administration mean?

When a company goes into administration, all control is transferred to an appointed administrator, who must be a recognized insolvency practitioner.

Their goal is to leverage the company's assets and operations to repay creditors.

Once the administrator takes over, a moratorium will be imposed on the company and all legal actions will be halted.

Once the administrator has taken over, there isn't much that can be done to reverse the process.

The administrator will write to your creditors and Companies House to let them know that they have been appointed.

They will try to prevent the company from being liquidated, but if that fails, the liquidator will pay as much of the company's debts as possible from its assets.

The administrator has eight weeks to write a statement explaining what he plans to do.

This should be sent to creditors, employees and Companies House, inviting them to approve or amend the plans at a meeting.

MARCUS RASHFORD is in trouble again at Manchester United after missing training after a night out in Belfast.

The England star is believed to have told boss Erik ten Hag on Friday that he was too ill, despite being spotted at Thompsons Garage nightclub hours earlier.

The incident is another headache for Ten Hag ahead of a possible FA Cup fourth round tie at League Two's Newport.

Rashford trained on Wednesday and was photographed at Lavery's Bar that evening ahead of a planned day off.

It is believed he has been in Northern Ireland to see his friend and former teammate Ro-Shaun Williams, who is signed for Larne FC.

The striker was spotted in Thompsons on Thursday and flew home on a private jet the next morning.

But Ten Hag revealed at his pre-match press conference on Friday that “Rashford was ill” and could not train.

The forward's partying is likely to attract the disciplinary wrath of Ten Hag, who has already criticized Rashford once this season for partying, especially as the players have only just returned from a week off.

Ten Hag criticized Rashford's night out after his side were defeated 3-0 by Manchester City in a derby.

The Dutch boss said: “I spoke to him about it. It's unacceptable. He apologized and that was it. For us it is an internal matter. He is very motivated to put things right. He is completely with us.

“He made a mistake, but that doesn't mean he doesn't belong. I see him every day at training, I know what he does.”

And in December 2022, Ten Hag removed Rashford from the starting line-up against Wolves after he overslept and was late for a meeting.

The latest disciplinary breach comes shortly after United winger Jadon Sancho was loaned out to Borussia Dortmund.

He was frozen out of the selection after Ten Hag dropped him due to poor performance in training.

Sancho hit out, accusing Ten Hag of using him as a “scapegoat” and then refusing to apologise.

Ten Hag admits that he is under as much pressure as his men to secure a place in the United Revolution.

The Dutchman only has one season left on his contract in the summer.

He has held regular discussions with Sir Jim Ratcliffe's Ineos team since his £1.03 billion investment was confirmed.

The Red Devils boss refused to reveal whether there was any talk of a new deal in the extensive discussions.

He said: “We talk about many topics but I cannot go into details. The most important thing is the club. It's not about an individual person.

Rashford has not been able to match last season's success this season

4

Rashford has not been able to match last season's success this season

“But when you are involved in top football, I think you know that you have to prove yourself every day. That applies to everyone who works for this club.”

Ten Hag adds: “Last season we performed above average.

“Now we have a downfall and we have to stop it. We know we have to be better.

“At United you have to win trophies. That should be the mentality here.”

His new series Masters Of The Air airs on Apple TV on Friday – while he also recently made headlines after confirming his romance with megastar Dua Lipa.

But the Levitating singer, 28, isn't the only key woman in Callum Turner's life. His mother Rosemary is credited with inspiring her son's career, which will reach new heights thanks to his latest role.

The British heartthrob, 33, was raised by his 'brilliant' working-class single parent, who was the 'strictest mum on their London estate' – and in 2016 he told The times how he inherited his natural talent from his mother.

She dreamed of becoming an actress, but instead worked as a nightclub promoter, for the likes of Ministry of Sound, which meant an eclectic mix of characters from the 1980s club scene constantly visited his house.

“The father figures were actually a lot of different gay boys,” the actor said The independent in 2020. He says contact with his Australian-based father was “loose” during his childhood.

British model and actor Callum Turner has risen to fame in recent times, but he owes it all to his 'brilliant' mother Rosemary Turner. (It is believed the pair were pictured together during Callum's childhood)

Speaking about his mother in 2016, with whom he was living in Chelsea at the time, he told The Times: 'She instilled in me the belief that if I want to do something, anything, I have to go for it.

'Although she always said: 'Go find a profession, become a plumber.' And I said, “No. I don't want to be a plumber. I want to be a footballer.” I didn't want the safe option. It's fun to take risks.'

Although his mother now seems to be fully supportive of her son's career choice and hopes he becomes the next James Bond.

To talk with PEOPLE On the rumors that he is expected to fill Daniel Craig's shoes, Callum joked: 'I think that's my mum. She just puts that out there. So if my chances increase, it's the only way she'll put the money on it.”

The actor regularly praises his working-class upbringing, previously saying: 'My mother allowed a community of people around me and did not protect her love for me. It was almost a tribe.'

He remembered the Evening standard in 2019 how Steve Strange, singer of the British band Visage, 'lived with us on and off'.

'Life with Steve was great, he shouted at my mother: 'Don't put up with that! Everyone will see you and they will crush me!'' the star recalled.

He revealed that he and his best friend Josh from the council estate where he grew up tell their mums every Christmas: 'We loved our childhood so much and thank you'.

“Run around and play, play football until all hours, you know?” he explained – although the actor also admitted that his mother was one of the “strictest on the estate.”

He remembered how he was never allowed to join the other children who played outside after 10 p.m. because “rules are rules.”

Callum has gone from strength to strength in his acting career, securing roles in the Fantastic Beasts film series and 2020's Emma alongside Anya Taylor-Joy.

More recently, he is one of the main cast members of the World War II drama Masters Of The Air, which also stars Austin Butler and Barry Keoghan and has Steven Spielberg as producer.

But his lavish lifestyle of red carpets, designer outfits and a famous girlfriend are a world away from his humble working-class beginnings, growing up on a London estate with his single mother Rosemary.

As a child he dreamed of playing football and even switched schools in Putney to another, down the road in Sheen, because there was an AstroTurf football pitch there, he reported. The times.

Callum left sixth form before completing his A-levels and went on to play for a semi-professional football team.

Soon his handsome face, together with a friend of his mother who worked in the fashion industry, landed him modeling work, including for Burberry.

During his modeling career, he worked in Japan, where he ate six pieces of tuna for lunch because he “needed to lose a lot of weight.” His natural waist is apparently 34 inches, but designers wanted 28.

THIS is the moment Phil Foden's mother was left in handcuffs after being kicked out of a seaside nightclub following a booze-fuelled row with a male clubber.

Claire Rowlands, 44, was handcuffed by officers called to the scene after she was thrown out of Bentley's nightclub in Towyn, North Wales, on September 9 last year.

Rowlands, who admitted being drunk and disorderly when she appeared before magistrates in Llandudno, had drank tequila and vodka during a girls' night out.

She kicked off after bouncers ejected her for an argument sparked by her “party trick” of taking off a man's cap, the court heard.

After grabbing a baseball cap from 42-year-old Paul Shortman and causing it to fall to the ground, she waved an arm toward him and was asked to leave the room.

Her night got worse when she drunkenly clashed with police.

The 52-second clip shown in court shows Claire aggressively confronting police officers who were called to the scene.

Claire says: “Go on, what have I done? Don't get in my face unless you have proof. No, I won't.

'You're coming to me. No, he comes to me.”

I don't drink often, but when I do I make up for the time. I'm like an animal.”

Claire RowlandsInterview with the police

A friend adds: “She's coming home with me.”

But the PC tells the woman to 'stop' and adds: 'She will stay with us for a minute.'

Rowlands continues: “We can walk away because we haven't done anything wrong,” while the PC adds: “We need to have a word with you, wait there.”

The 44-year-old then tells him: “We haven't committed a criminal offence, we're going, thank you, thank you,” as someone else can be heard saying “f*** off.”

Another PC tells Rowlands again that they “need a word” before refusing again and taking a sip of her drink.

Another woman then shouts “don't do that, dare chase my partner” as Rowlands spreads her arms wide and asks “what have I done” and is surrounded by officers.

“Get off her,” another group member added.

On Tuesday, Rowlands, from Prestbury, Cheshire, was cleared of assaulting Mr Shortman, but she was fined £100, with £85 prosecution costs and a £40 surcharge, after previously admitting being drunk and disorderly in a public place.

During the hearing at Llandudno Crown Court, PC Stephen Gunning said she was “stumbling with slurred speech and glassy eyes”.

She assaulted officers and body footage showed her shouting at them to 'f*** off' before she was handcuffed and arrested.

During the police interview, Rowlands admitted: “I started with the police officers. I was a bit ab***h.”

She also told police she was “like an animal” after drinking.

She said: 'I don't drink often, but when I do I make up for the time. I'm like an animal.”

It comes as Rowlands told Llandudno Crown Court she was invited to a friend's caravan for a “respite break”.

Rowlands, married to Phil Foden Snr, 45, told JP's that caring for her disabled son was 'hard work most of the time'.

As a result, two friends had treated her to a weekend in a friend's aunt's caravan.

Rowlands told the court the plan was to “laugh” and “let our hair down”.

The 44-year-old said she was downing vodka and tequila shots and the group moved to Sunny's bar in Towyn.

When it closed at 10pm they went to the Bentley's club upstairs.

Rowlands said: “My friends spoke to a few lads.

“There was no hostility, I was drunk and having a good time.”

The court heard she was asked to leave by doormen who accused her of assaulting someone.

“It was actually just a bit of fun.”

A 30-second CCTV clip played for magistrates showed Rowlands knocking a baseball cap off Paul Shortman's head before picking it up from the floor and waving her arm in an attempt to put it back on him.

Her lawyer Simon Martin asked her: “What was going through your mind?”

She replied: “I was just drunk. I had a little fun. I had done it to a boy before. It was really just a bit of fun.”

Mr Martin asked: “Did you intend to harm him?”

She replied, “No.” Mr Martin said the CCTV footage showed her walking across the dance floor and picking up the cap.

“I started working with the police officers. I was a bit ab***h.”

Claire RowlandsInterview with the police

She said: “I just wanted to put his cap back on.”

Mr Martin said Mr Shortman ducked and the cap fell back to the ground without physical contact.

Rowlands said: “I was drunk. It was just a bit of fun, a bit of banter. I just couldn't believe that I could get in trouble for knocking someone's cap off. It's my party trick: knocking someone's cap off and putting it back on.'

Rowlands disagreed that her actions had been reckless.

She added: “It was not my intention to harm or hurt him and you can see that in the video. It was just a joke that was taken the wrong way.”

Drunk and disorderly

In his closing speech, Mr Martin said: “The video speaks for itself. Yes, she knocks his cap off and it falls to the ground. It is not a criminal offense. This is not about someone being hit or kicked. You can see it for what it is: a storm in a teacup.”

The court heard Mr Shortman was not present to give evidence.

Chairman of the Magistrates Duncan Campbell said the prosecution had not proven assault.

He added: “It is clear at the time that you were drunk and having fun. The burden is on the prosecutor to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that you intended to use force.

“It is significant that Mr Shortman was not present and that your actions were not consensual. That is why we do not consider you guilty.”

She was cleared of assault by beating but fined £100 for drunkenness and disorder, with £85 costs and a £40 surcharge.

Rowlands was given 90 days to pay.

She left the court with her coat over her head, along with Phil Snr.

The couple are directors of PWF Management Ltd, named after the initials of their son, Philip Walter Foden.

SUPS-'N-DOWNS

PHIL Foden's proud mother Claire has supported his career since his football talent was spotted at the age of four.

A Manchester City scout was made aware of Foden while he was in the primaries at Bridge Hall in working-class Edgeley, Stockport.

But life hasn't all been smooth sailing. In May 2021, Claire was involved in a drunken brawl that left one woman with black eyes.

Katie Skitt needed a tetanus shot after finding bite marks in Stockport.

In February 2022, Claire clashed with boxing fans after Phil was verbally abused following Kell Brook's win over Amir Khan.

Phone footage showed her appearing to push a yob before he waved at her. Another man punched her in defense.

Police investigated and City said the club was shocked by the attack on Claire.

A month later, she and hubby Phil Snr sparked police complaints over loud music in their £2.85 million home.

Tyga and Chloe Bailey have fueled dating rumors after being seen together at a club in Los Angeles on Tuesday night.

Tyga, who recently settled a custody battle with ex Blac Chyna, wore a black and red beanie, a white T-shirt and a black biker jacket.

Chloe showed off her cleavage in a low-cut black top and fitted black PVC leggings.

Tyga’s meeting with Chloe comes after it was reported that he and baby mama Blac Chyna forced guests to sign a $500,000 non-disclosure agreement to attend the baptism of their son King Cairo.

According to the NDA, obtained by Page Six on Wednesday, family and friends must agree to the provision prior to the ceremony.

The legally binding contract “prohibits guests from taking photos (still or moving) and sharing anything on social media” and allows the former couple to “inspect and confiscate all smart devices such as cell phones, Apple Watches and tablets.” ‘

Additionally, the document, which was filed with the court earlier this week, prevents attendees from making “disparaging statements” about the rapper – “orally or in writing.”

Anyone who breaches the contract will have to cough up a six-figure fee.

The 11-year-old’s baptism comes nine months after his mother underwent the Christian sacrament of initiation into the church.

Chyna and Tyga recently agreed to joint legal and physical custody of their young teen, after years of fighting over custody and financial support.

According to TMZ, both will also have the right to make decisions about King’s health, education and general well-being.

Tyga and Avril Lavigne shocked fans when they went public with a romance earlier this year.

Their months-long coupling ended in October, after a whirlwind affair that saw the rap artist gift the pop star a custom nameplate necklace worth $80,000.

Stevenson and Lavigne were first spotted together in February this year, in the immediate aftermath of her split from fiancé Mod Sun.

Mod, who previously made headlines for his long-term relationship with Bella Thorne, was involved with Avril for three years.

After his relationship with Avril ended in February, Mod publicly revealed he was “blindsided” by her decision to call off their engagement.

Get ready to clear space in next year’s calendar, because Time Out has rounded up the 24 best things to do in the world in 2024.

The list was compiled by Time Out’s global team of editors and contributors and published with the slogan ‘forget saving money… get out more and do more things’.

The guide added: ‘There are openings and reopenings. Brand new train routes cross countries and continents. Crazy places to party.

“And even if the ‘cossie livs’ have you tightening your wallet, there are plenty of free and affordable events on this list too.” Scroll down to see Time Out’s top 10 recommendations in reverse order – from Europe’s highest nightclub to riding vintage trains in Italy – and for the full list at the bottom.

10. Discover the next big thing at a brand new music weekender – Dublin, Ireland

Dublin’s Borderline Festival, which features ‘budding stars’, comes in 10th. Pictured is the Ha’Penny Bridge in Dublin

Kicking off the top 10 is Border Festival in Dublin, ‘a newly announced weekender showcasing ‘forward-thinking’ new artists over two evenings in February’.

Time Out says: ‘These rising stars – including Fat Dog, Spider and Lambrini Girls – will give their best on the stages of legendary music venue the Workman’s Club.’

Still not convinced? Time Out says: ‘This is the kind of weekend where stars are made – and you can tell everyone you saw them first.’

9. Take a ride Italy‘s renewed vintage trains

Taking a ride on the renovated Italian tourist trains is ninth on the list. Shown above is part of this offering - the new 'Orient Express'

According to Time Out, air traffic is over. In 2024, the guide says: ‘We are entering the era of sustainable and affordable train travel with full force.’

Italy is doing its bit for the cause, the guide highlights, with the launch of revamped vintage tourist trains, run by the country’s national operator – Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane – under a new brand called FS Treni Turistici Italiani.

Time Out continues: ‘The trains will transport passengers from major cities to rural areas and beyond in truly beautiful vintage carriages.’ According to the guide, the first service will be a sleeper train from Rome to the Dolomites, which will start this month.

8. Go to a new food festival on a remote Icelandic island: Vestmannaeyjar

Eighth on the list goes to the Matey Seafood Festival in Iceland’s Vestmannaeyjar archipelago (photo)

Time Out says that ‘everyone is all Reykjavik, Reykjavik, Reykjavik about food in Iceland’, but hidden on an archipelago on the south coast called Vestmannaeyjar (also the Westman Islands), ‘a new foodie hotspot is brewing’.

Be prepared for ‘lots of haddock and cod’, says the guide Matey Seafood Festivalwhich ‘invites top international chefs to take over its restaurants for a weekend, resulting in intricate and inventive fine dining with local Icelandic ingredients’.

7. Dine at a reopened restaurant London icon – Simpson’s in the Strand

Simpson is in the Strand Time Out first opened in 1828 as a chess club, Time Out explains, and was a favorite haunt of Arthur Conan Doyle, Charles Dickens “and many other mustachioed men in suits.”

But this ‘stronghold of London luxury has unfortunately closed since the pandemic’.

However, Time Out explains that this ‘classic London restaurant, one of the first in Britain to win a Michelin star, will finally reopen in 2024’. And according to the man overseeing the renewal, restaurateur Jeremy King, it will be delivered ‘fully into the 21st century’.

6. Watch world-class athletes compete at the Paris Olympics

Time Out ranks visiting the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris sixth on its list of the best things to do in 2024

‘Go to Paris for the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games on July 26 or wait until the late summer start of the Paralympic Games on August 28 and admire the talent of the Paralympic athletes.’

5. Cruise the Colombian river that inspired the book ‘Love in the Time of Cholera’

A seven-night cruise along Colombia’s Magdalena River (pictured) is fifth on the list

“There are more than a dozen major cruise lines that visit Colombia’s Caribbean coast, but none sail inland along the Magdalena River,” says Time Out.

‘That will change when AmaWaterwegen departs on Colombia’s version of the Mississippi River in November 2024.’

The guide explains how the seven-night trip will allow you to experience “the region’s nature and cities – from exotic bird watching to a floating village – made famous in Gabriel García Márquez’s beloved novel Love in the Time of Cholera.”

4. Interact with large-scale digital art – Tokyo, Japan

Nearing the top three is teamLab Borderless, a digital art museum in Tokyo that will reopen in 2024 and which Time Out describes as “immersive, interactive and simply radical.” The exhibition is pictured above in 2022

“When teamLab Borderless opened in Tokyo’s Odaiba district in 2018, it caused a sensation,” says Time Out. ‘The world has never seen digital art of this magnitude: immersive, interactive and simply radical.’

The guide continues: ‘While the original location closed in 2022, the art collective is about to break ground teamLab Borderless museum in February at a new central location in Tokyo, promising new and never-before-seen digital installations making their global debut.”

3. Hop on a cable car to the highest nightclub in Europe – Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland

Detour Discotheek 2024 takes the bronze medal in the Time Out ranking. It takes place at three main locations in the beautiful Lauterbrunnen Valley: Birg, Schilthorn Piz Gloria (above) and Trinkhalle

“You may have gone to the other side of town for a party before, but have you ever gone to the top of a mountain?” asks Time-Out.

Detour Discotheque, which Time Out says has seen success in the remote areas of Iceland and Scotland, is coming to the Swiss Alps in 2024 and, it notes, “is well worth the detour.”

Detour Discotheque 2024 takes place in three key locations in the beautiful Lauterbrunnen Valley: Birg, Schilthorn Piz Gloria and Trinkhalle.

2. Celebrate the history and heroes of hip-hop in a huge new museum: New York

The Universal Hip Hop Museum, which opens its doors in the Bronx, New York, ranks second on Time Out’s list

In second place is the ‘long-awaited’ Universal hip hop museum‘, which will open its doors for a soft launch in the Bronx, New York at the end of this year.

What can you expect? Time Out says it will bring “interactive exhibits featuring artifacts, multimedia, AI, VR and AR to teach visitors all about the beginnings and impact of hip-hop across 5,000 square feet.”

Time Out adds, “New Yorkers have been waiting for a place that commemorates and celebrates the genre and its many heroes, and it looks like 2024 will be the year they finally get it.”

1. Create a cycling route through eight European countries in the Balkans

First and foremost is the brand new Trans Dinarica cycling route through the Balkans, which will showcase ‘the beauty of the region’. Pictured is a winding road on the Adriatic coast

First and foremost is the Trans Dinarica trail, a new cycling route through the Balkans that, Time Out claims, will ‘jump straight to the top of many 2024 bucket lists’.

Where will it take you? Time Out says: ‘The route follows a corridor of national parks, winding along the Adriatic coast, through forests and villages inland, with a place to have a hearty local dinner and a good night’s sleep at the end of each day to get.

‘The focus of the trip is to sustainably showcase the beauty of the region, and by the time it opens, a whole range of map information and recommendations for services during your trip will be available.’

EXCLUSIVE

A colorful Sydney business identity, ‘Big’ Jim Byrne, was arrested after being involved in a dance floor altercation with nightclub boss Julian Tobias at his exclusive venue.

Daily Mail Australian can reveal a row between the former debt collector, 63, and the nightclub boss, 44, which broke out during post-Melbourne Cup celebrations at the Bedouin nightclub, which Tobais owns, in Sydney’s exclusive Double Bay.

NSW Police confirmed they received reports of a fight on the dance floor while conducting a routine business inspection at the venue at 8.40pm on November 7, with festivities continuing on the first Tuesday in November.

“During the inspection, police received reports of a fight on the dance floor at the venue,” a NSW Police spokesperson said.

A witness said the argument between the pair occurred after a woman was allegedly touched ‘inappropriately’ by a male patron of the nightclub.

That prompted Byrnes to intervene by ‘pushing’ that man, the witness said.

“Then Julian stepped in and went at Jim,” the source claimed.

The alleged scuffle left Byrne with a small cut above his eye.

Byrnes, 63, was arrested and then taken to Waverley police station before being released after police retrieved CCTV footage from the nightclub, a police statement containing facts was revealed.

“I wasn’t worried,” Byrnes told Daily Mail Australia.

“I’m currently being harassed by everyone who doesn’t like Tobias filing a complaint.”

Tobias, 44, owns the popular restaurant and nightclub in the eastern suburb.

He made headlines last year after introducing a strict dress code in a bid to discourage ‘intimidating performances’.

House policies are posted on a sign at the front of the venue. It bans “visible tattoos,” “clothing with a designer label” or “heavy jewelry.”

The alleged fight comes two months after Tobias split from 18-year-old Only Fans influencer Paris Ow-Yang.

Ms Ow-Yang pleaded guilty last Friday to being four times over the legal limit when she crashed her black Mercedes into a car at Downing Center Local Court at Point Piper last month.

A court heard last week that Ms Ow-Yang was reeling from her sudden break-up with Tobias when she ‘went into a spiral’ and crashed her car.

Tobias declined to comment when contacted by Daily Mail Australia.
