A Vinted buyer and seller have been furiously arguing with each other for more than a month over a £1 item.

In the funny exchange, shared on TikTok by @depopdramathe pair, both from Great Britain, angrily go back and forth over a white nightgown.

Depop Drama often posts bust-ups between people on second-hand sites, submitted by those involved – but they called this one the 'most dramatic yet'.

The video has already been viewed more than 87,000 times, with viewers giving their own opinions on who they think is wrong.

The man behind the TikTok account revealed: ''This Vinted conversation went on for a whole month over a £1 item, look at this.

He explained that the buyer had bought the nightgown for £1 and the seller had messaged him to warn: 'This may need to be washed as it is in my cupboard'.

The buyer then asked, 'Can't it be laundered before shipping?', to which the seller replied that they could launder it, but that would mean it wouldn't ship until the Friday of that week.

They also argued that it would cost them more to launder it than the asking price of £1.

The TikToker continued, “So they basically put it in the wash and so far so good, but wait until you see this next bit.

'A few days later, the seller sends a message to the buyer saying, “Is there any sign of this yet? It's been saying since early this morning that it needs to be delivered to the recipient.”

The buyer indicated that it had not yet been delivered and that he would keep the seller informed.

Concerned, the salesman joked, “II've been saying for two days that it's ready for delivery, maybe I should report it to Vinted.

The man who posted the exchange on TikTok laughed, “This is where it just gets so dramatic. The buyer says, “Hi, I don't mean to be rude or anything, but I said I'll let you know when the time comes, and that hasn't happened yet.”

The next day the seller replied: 'I don't want to be rude at all. I shipped it on the 14th, it's been six business days and it's usually done with InPost within three to five business days.

“It's been saying it's being delivered to you for three days, but still no sign.”

After a few days, the seller exclaimed, “Oh my god, it has arrived,” and bizarrely added, “CI don't think it showed up, I washed it and everything for you, it smelled great when I sent it in.”

Losing patience, the seller asked the next day, “Can you confirm the collection, or should I wait?”

At this point the buyer also became irritated and told the seller to be patient and that it would be picked up soon.

The TikToker explained, “This is where it gets even more dramatic. They then said: “You said yesterday you would collect it as soon as possible. I don't find any of this funny to be honest so no LOL about it. I regret all the effort I went to for a £1 item” .

'I have had a feeling from the start, they are generally right.

'Buyer then says, 'I just haven't had a chance to gather yet, I've been at college all day and I can send you my schedule if you don't believe me. You're a little impatient.'

He continued, “You don't want to miss this bit because this is the best part. The seller then says, “I don't know what gives you the right to insult me, but wow! I work two jobs and shipped your package on the 14th, it's now the 27th.

“Why I would want to see your timetable is beyond me, as I stated that I knew from the start that I would have nothing but trouble with you and this order. Do me a favor and don't give back unless it's to pay me.

“The disrespect came straight from you, the same thing happened to me when I bought a pair of North Face leggings in May when I was new here. I'm just amazed at how some people are on this site.”

When the argument broke out, the buyer responded, “I mean, you offended me a little bit at first, it's not my fault the delivery company took longer than normal to post the package.

'I sent you the screenshot from Vinted saying it's going to take longer than expected, there's nothing I can do about that.

'What did I say that is disrespectful? Kind of funny, you're stunned and you're acting like that because I haven't picked up a package yet, but it's not really a problem. I'll pick it up tomorrow, so you'll get your $1, don't worry.'

Furious, the seller wrote: 'Who do you think you are? I'm stumped and don't need some stupid girl texting me before I go to work. Like I said, message me when you pay, that's all'.

The snarky comments went back and forth, with the seller becoming irate and saying she would “rather have the item back” than continue dealing with the buyer.

The buyer didn't back down and snapped, “Sorry, getting the package isn't my first priority because some people have more important things to do.”

“I'm not sure what ASAP means to you, but to 99% of the population it means as soon as I'm able.”

The heated exchange eventually ended a month after it started, with the seller leaving a raging one-star review for the buyer and threatening to file a complaint with Vinted.

The buyer responded to the review by insisting that the seller “started” the rudeness and that it was “not her fault at all.”

Viewers flocked to the comments to share their thoughts on the strange argument, with one writing: 'The level of brokeness on Vinted is frightening.'

Another wrote: 'I'm not even sure a pound is that important,' with a third penny: 'Guys selling items for £1 aren't worth it at all. Just donate the item to charity.”

Meanwhile, someone else admitted: 'I know times are tough but this is another level. I'd give her the prize myself and I'm broke.'

Although some thought the seller was right, others defended the buyer, writing: 'anyone selling something for even £1 is just throwing it away' and 'Honestly a seller in the wrong and all for a £1 item, like just be patient'.

Another wondered: 'Surely most people wash clothes they buy on Vinted before wearing them.'
