Matt Shirvington will replace David ‘Kochie’ Koch at Sunrise next week.

And the former Olympian has revealed the very cheeky requests he’s received from fans over the years after he rose to fame on the track.

Matt, 44, said he had to sign autographs on people’s bodies before – and he loved doing it.

On a more serious note, the former sprinter recalled a sweet moment he shared with a young fan and runner.

He revealed that he once sent his spikes to a boy who went on to compete with them on the track years later.

“I remember thinking at the time, you really need to keep going for your fans and the people who support you because who knows where it will lead,” he explained.

Matt will take over from Kochie, 67, from next Monday and co-host Sunrise alongside Natalie Barr, 55.

Speaking about his new role, Matt said he has big shoes to fill but is “excited” to take on the reins of the breakfast TV show.

“It’s an honor and a privilege to take on such a coveted job that represents so much of what Australian TV is – the good, the bad and the ugly, and have a connection to that,” he said.

The official announcement was made on Monday morning’s breakfast show, four days before 67-year-old Koch films his last show on Friday.

Shirvington, 44, said he had “mixed feelings” about the new gig as he sat on the couch with Barr and Koch for the announcement.

‘Just fantastic. Discouraged. So excited. Cheerful. I cannot tell you what honor and privilege this is, especially Kochie. A huge job. A huge job. And an exciting job,” he said.

Both Koch and Barr said they were delighted with the choice.

“What we always do is if you’re a member of the family, you remain a member of the family, aren’t you. And you will get through it. And you’ve been fantastic to fill in and every Friday it’s been sensational. You’re going to be sensational. You’re going to be a perfect fit,” Koch said.

During the segment, Barr and Koch also played a video of the former Olympian competing in a race in a skintight jumpsuit.

The tight outfit that drew attention to Shirvington’s infamous bulge as he sped around the track.

Fans of the athlete will remember how photos of Shirvington revealing his rather large manhood went viral in 1998 while he was competing in the Commonwealth Games.

Earlier in the show, Koch teased his replacement, telling viewers, “I guarantee they will be younger and better looking. That is open to everyone! It’s a wide field,’ he said.

It’s not known how much Shirvington will be paid for the role, but Koch was reportedly on a $1 million salary.

Sunrise’s new co-host Matt “Shirvo” Shirvington squirmed in his chair Monday during an extremely crude interview with The Kyle And Jackie O Show.

The 44-year-old spoke to Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson shortly after being announced as David ‘Kochie’ Koch’s replacement live on Sunrise, but the conversation quickly moved from a family-friendly discussion about his career to a bawdy chat about his sex life.

Sandilands left Shirvo embarrassed when he cheekily asked the father of three how many sexual partners he has had.

“Oh my god, really?” replied Shirvo, who has been in a relationship with wife Jessica Shirvington since they were 17 years old.

“Well, I’ve been out of the game for 22 years, so it can’t be that many,” he added awkwardly.

Sandilands refused to let go of the subject, then asked if Shirvo had ever enjoyed a “slash and kill, rip and tear” phase, or if he was a “gentleman” with women.

“You know, some things you have to leave to the imagination, don’t you think?” Shirvo replied laughing.

Sandilands then brought up the infamous photo of Shirvo competing in the 1988 Commonwealth Games, which showed his big manhood in tight lycra.

“How big is your penis exactly in centimeters?” he asked bluntly.

‘Stop!’ Henderson scolded him, before telling Shirvo that Sandilands had a strange obsession with the former athlete’s genitals.

Again Shirvo did his best to dodge the question and replied, “Where do these questions come from?” I feel like they came from your audience, and then the third from you.’

Undeterred, Sandilands again investigated, this time asking Shirvo to reveal his go-to sexual position.

Shirvo laughed and refused to answer.

Sandilands later joked that he would settle Australia’s breakfast TV wars by inviting Today presenter Karl Stefanovic to join Shirvo in a “dick”, in which the men would compare the size of their penises.

Karl just started laughing and said, ‘No, bro. Judging by that, I’ve already lost,” Kyle revealed.

“It’s nice to have good colleagues from the industry, isn’t it?” Shirvo laughed.

Sandilands concluded the interview with his most intimate question yet: whether Shirvo had been circumcised.

‘A final question. Cut or uncut, mate?’ he asked.

‘Just get it [your penis] out, just do it. Tear off the plaster. There’s nothing wrong with saying “cut,” brother. If you have the hoodie, or if you have a belly, that’s fine,” he later added.

Shirvo, classy as ever, replied simply, “There are some things you need to do again. Leave it to the imagination, mate.’

It was confirmed that Shirvo would replace Kochie at Sunrise on Monday, following a three-year plan to prepare him for the top job.

Shirvo said he had “mixed feelings” about the new gig as he sat on the couch with Barr and Kochie for the announcement.
