Tesco Clubcard warning as £18m worth of points will expire forever
MILLIONS of Tesco shoppers still have weeks to use Clubcard vouchers worth £18 million or risk losing them forever.
The supermarket chain has warned that Clubcard points worth £18 million will expire on February 29.
Customers can use the Clubcard vouchers, which were first issued in February 2022 and expire at the end of this month, to reduce the cost of their weekly shopping, pay for fuel or get a great new deal with Tesco Mobile.
Shoppers can use Clubcard vouchers in store and online to save money on their Tesco store.
If you decide to use your vouchers for your Tesco store, every 150 points can be redeemed for a value of €1.50.
Your vouchers can also be doubled in value and can be spent with over 100 rewards partners including Pizza Express and Zizzi.
You can also exchange vouchers for your money Tesco mobile account.
Tesco's warning comes as more than £125 million worth of new vouchers are set to land on doorsteps and in the Tesco app from February 5.
Vouchers are issued every three months in February, May, August and November.
Emma Botton, customer director at Tesco Group, said: “Household budgets are still under pressure and we want to help them grow further.
“Tesco Clubcard remains the best way to get value for money, and with over £18 million worth of vouchers expiring at the end of this month, we're reminding customers to spend them now.”
How does the Tesco Clubcard scheme work?
Tesco's Clubcard program allows customers to earn points as they shop. These points can then be converted into cash on food vouchers or other rewards partner programs.
Every time you spend €1 in store and online, you get one point when you scan your card or app.
Drivers using Clubcards will now receive one point for every two liters they spend on fuel.
One point is equal to 1 cent, so for example 150 points will earn you €1.50.
To apply for a voucher you need at least 150 points.
These vouchers can be worth face value to spend in-store at Tesco, or you can double their value to spend at rewards partners, including restaurants, and on days out.
Loyalty card holders can also get cheaper prices on more than 8,000 items thanks to Clubcard Prices.
According to Tesco, these Clubcard prizes will save the average member £351 on their annual shopping.
