If your AirPods are repeatedly disconnecting, there are a number of things that could be causing the problem.

Why do my AirPods keep dropping out and disconnecting?

There are three main causes that can cause your AirPods to shut down unexpectedly.

  1. Battery life
  2. Bluetooth interference
  3. Wrong version of iOS

How can I stop my AirPods from disconnecting?

Low battery

AirPods cannot connect to your phone when the battery is low.

When empty, AirPods will automatically disconnect from any device.

To give them a little juice, just pop them in their charging case.

Deflated charging case

Your charging case may also be out of battery.

Plug it in with a Lightning cable to charge it, then try charging your AirPods.

Bluetooth confusion

When Bluetooth devices are placed close to each other, their signals may become somewhat confused.

If your AirPods are close to your Wi-Fi router, the signal may block their ability to connect.

Try taking your AirPods somewhere where there is likely to be no interference and try connecting to them again.

Update your iPhone

You may need to update your device to the latest version of iOS, the operating system that powers the iPhone, to resolve the connection issue.

To do this, go to the Institutions app on your iPhone. Crane General > Software update. Then tap Download and install.

If you have AirPods Pro (2nd generation), you need a device with iOS 16 or later.

But iOS 16 is only available on iPhone 8 and later, so you may need a newer device.

How to clean AirPods

To clean your Apple AirPods, you first need some baby wipes.

Apple recommends using a 70% isopropyl alcohol wipe, a 75% ethyl alcohol wipe, or disinfectant wipes to gently clean the exterior of your AirPods, AirPods Pro, as well as AirPods Max and EarPods.

However, make sure you don't use products that contain bleach or hydrogen peroxide as these can cause discoloration.

Apple has also advised AirPod owners not to use these wipes on the speaker mesh and to avoid getting moisture into the gaps.

And certainly do not immerse your AirPods in cleaning products or under water.

Here are some pro tips:

Clean the microphone and speaker grilles with a dry cotton swab.

If your AirPods are exposed to anything that could cause stains or other damage, such as shampoos, lotions, perfumes, solvents, cleaners, acids or acidic foods, insect repellents, sunscreen, oils, or hair dye, simply wipe them clean with a mild detergent. damp cloth and dry with a soft, lint-free cloth.

Then let them dry completely before placing them in the charging case.

Try not to use them until they are completely dry.

Hardware problem

If none of the above solutions work, there may be a hardware problem with your AirPods.
