100-1 Royal Ascot Horse ‘could be the biggest gamble ever’ after the opportunities have been destroyed

A little-known horse that has seen its chances of 100-1 in 8-1 in 8-1 could have been ‘one of the largest Royal ASCOT gambling ever’ has confirmed petrified bookmakers.
Trainer Joseph O’Brien, son of iconic handler Aidan, has repeatedly viewed the opportunities on the Liffey in the run-up to the largest flat racing festival in the world.
The four -year -old gelding has raced only four times in his life and used to be trained by the Ballydoyle King.
But the Liffey was moved to Joseph’s Kilkenny Yard in April this year, a month before he took his comeback off the track after 350 days.
It is interesting that John Magnier and Derrick Smith, two-thirds of the all-transferring Coolmore syndicate, kept their share in the horse, while Michael Tabor opted.
Two more owners came before his encouraging fourth placed finish with a tense of 16-1 in a mentioned match about seven Furlongs at Naas.
Although he may not look a world leaf on the occasion, his subsequent figure of 98 led to many believing that the handicapper has seriously underestimated him.
And a gamble from the chance of 100-1 last month to only 8-1 suggests that the son of No No No Noy is never able to do much anymore.
Although no piles of cash is needed to move a market in the Royal Hunt Cup Handicap so far away, Bookmakers have certainly taken note of the monster dive.
Paul Binfield from Paddy Power said: “We first put the Liffey in the race at 100-1 and we took many bets on fancy prizes.
“Those bets meant that he was already a decent loser for a handicap so far from post-time, but when we were around the 20-1 Mark-Momentum, he really started and he is now incredible in just 8-1.
“He is already a bad ante post result for us.
“It is a bit too early to say that it will be one of the largest Royal Extravaganza gambling ever that we have ever encountered.
“Especially since the money we have seen will probably not be the scale of obligations that we will keep on the actual day.
“But if the momentum the way it continued, and gamblers get stuck in the no no that never rates on that Wednesday, it is certainly not inconceivable that it might be there.”
