137,000 Lucid Upholstered Platform Bed Frames Recalled Due to Injury Hazard
Lucid is recalling approximately 137,000 platform beds with upholstered headboards due to fall and injury hazards. Another 890 were sold in CanadaAccording to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, 245 reports of bed frames Breaking, sagging or collapsing during use resulted in 18 confirmed bruises and contusions.
The platform bed frame, manufactured between 2019 and 2021, features a slatted bed base and a square upholstered headboard with tufted details. The Lucid frame was sold online at major retailers including Lucid, Macy’s, Target and Walmart, and in stores nationwide. The recall affects all color options and sizes, from twin to California king.
If you have a Lucid platform bed with a headboard, check the white Federal Law label on the back of the headboard to see if it has been recalled. The affected frames have “Made For: CVB INC, 1525 W 2960 S, LOGAN, UT 84321” on the right side of the label. If your platform frame has been recalled, stop using it immediately to avoid injury.
The good news is that Lucid is offering a free replacement for all recalled bed frames and headboards. The online form required for a replacement gives you four options to choose from:
You will need to follow a few steps to report your recall and receive your new frame.
- Fill in Lucid Replacement Product Online form, containing your contact details and the product you wish to replace it with.
- Write “RECALLED” across the wooden slats of the frame with a permanent marker. Take a photo with the word visible and upload it to the form.
- Take a photo of the federal law label on the back of the headboard and upload it to the form.
- Upload your proof of purchase in the form.
