1Password, the maker of one of our picks for the best password managers right now, has made sharing WiFi passwords easier than ever.
Wi-Fi passwords are often long, confusing, and hard to remember. Finding a way to share them quickly and easily can save you time and frustration.
That’s why 1Password introduced the ability to share WiFi passwords via a QR code, allowing guests to log in within seconds.
1Password QR Code Password Sharing
To set up a QR code for Wi-Fi, users simply need to fill in the ‘Network Name’ and ‘Network Password’ fields. 1Password will then generate a QR code that can be scanned whenever someone needs to access the Wi-Fi.
For convenience, the QR code can be automatically displayed when accessing Wi-Fi credentials via 1Password, but this option can be disabled in Settings > Security > Hidden Fields. This will require users to tap a button to display the QR code whenever they attempt to access Wi-Fi.
“We’ve made it even easier to share your Wi-Fi credentials with nearby family and friends with a new enhancement to the Wireless Router item in 1Password: automatic QR codes! Easily share your Wi-Fi network name and password via a QR code with nearby family and friends by having them scan the code – no links or extra taps required,” the 1Password team said.
Recently, 1Password launched a solution that allows you to securely log in on any device. This allows companies to quickly and securely manage logins on any device registered to their organization.
