Allison Langdon burst into tears at the 2024 Logie Awards on Sunday.

The 45-year-old veteran TV presenter won the Silver Logie for Best News or Public Presenter, beating ABC’s David Speers and Sarah Ferguson, Channel Nine’s Liz Hayes and Peter Overton and Seven’s Michael Usher.

It proved to be a jaw-dropping moment for the A Current Affair presenter as she took to the stage to accept the award.

When you hear everything [the nominees]“You don’t expect yours to be addressed,” she began.

“Everything we do, we do with heart and soul. If a story doesn’t have heart and soul, we just don’t do it,” she continued.

I look at those who have sat in this chair before me, all the way back to my father-in-law [Mike Willesee] who started this show.

“It would have been great if he could have seen the family bond and how it developed.

Langdon, who took on the role following Tracy Grimshaw’s dramatic departure in 2022, shared her love for her predecessor.

Earlier this year, Langdon revealed what the future would hold if she decided to quit her job.

In conversation with Bradley J Dryburgh about his A Lot To Talk About podcastAlly shared that she may go back to college and choose a whole new career path after ACA.

When asked about her future plans, she said, “I think I’m going to sail off into the sunset and do something completely different.”

“Go back to college, start something completely different, something completely new,” she added excitedly.

Before hosting ACA, Ally was a regular guest on the Today show, but in February 2021, she suffered a shocking hydrofoil accident while filming a water sports segment.

After the accident, Ally was pulled out of the water by her life jacket. Two male rescuers jumped into the water to help her.

She was taken to hospital where she was treated before flying back to Sydney for surgery on her knee.

Three years after the accident, Ally still appears to be suffering from her injuries.

Langdon is married to Michael Willesee Jnr, the son of former ACA presenter Mike Willesee. The couple have a son and a daughter.
