Since Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Russia in july, 35 Indian citizens have been released from the Russian armyaccording to the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MEA) Randhir JaiswalThis takes the total number of released Indians to 45, while 10 were released before the Prime Minister’s visit.
Jaiswal stressed the ongoing diplomatic efforts to secure the release of the remaining 50 Indians still serving in the Russian army. “We are trying our best to get them released as soon as possible,” he said.
The MEA is actively in talks with the Russian authorities to expedite the discharge of these individuals.
