4.7 magnitude earthquake rocks Sydney and New South Wales’ Upper Hunter region in latest ground shaking
A magnitude 4.7 earthquake has struck New South Wales and is shaking Sydney.
Geoscience Australia reported a series of quakes on Saturday morning, including a magnitude 4.7 earthquake near Muswellbrook in the Hunter Valley region of New South Wales.
‘Just felt ANOTHER earthquake Sydney what’s going on?! Third one I’ve felt this year,’ one resident tweeted.
Local Facebook groups in the east and west of the city were flooded with messages about the earthquake.
‘Western Sydney peeps, did we feel another small earthquake? My bed shook for a few seconds.’
Someone else added: ‘I swear to God I’m not making this up, but I always feel like I’m the only one in Sydney who feels the earthquakes, man.’
Two weeks ago, a magnitude 5.0 earthquake was felt in the same area of New South Wales.
