NEW DELHI: In a tragic incident that took place on the outskirts of Rajkot last night, 60 year old woman identified as Vijyaben Bathwar lost her life after being hit by a car.
According to DCP zone-2Jagdish Bangarwa, “Last night, a 60-year-old woman named Vijyaben Bathwar was hit by a car on the outskirts of Rajkot. She died in the incident. We have information that the car driver dragged her for almost a mile.”
Police have registered an FIR in connection with the incident and have seized the car involved, which belongs to a person residing in Dhoraji.
Authorities are currently conducting a search operation to identify and arrest the suspect responsible for this heinous act. “An FIR has been registered in the case. The car belongs to a person residing in Dhoraji. The car has been seized by the police. The identity and location of the suspect is on,” DCP Bangarwa added.
This tragic event follows a similar incident reported in Worli, Mumbai, where a woman was killed after a BMW car driven by suspected drunk Mihir Shah collided with her scooter.
The alarming frequency of such accidents has raised concerns about road safety and the need for stricter enforcement of traffic rules to prevent further loss of life.
