Vikings: Valhalla season 3 (Netflix)

The world’s most famous Vikings Leif Erikson (Sam Corlett), Harald Hardrada (Leo Suter) and Freydís Eiríksdóttir (Frida Gustavsson) embark on one final voyage in the hugely popular historical fiction series Vikings: Valhalla‘s third and final season. Will they return to Norway alive?
You can find out now, with all eight episodes of the epic Viking historical saga releasing on Thursday, July 11 – just in time for the weekend. We’re counting it as one of the best netflix series and we are not alone, with epic road trip through the 11th century in season two has a 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes, so we have high expectations for the third part.
Sunny (Apple TV Plus)
The newest original sci-fi series on Apple TV Plus is a quirky mystery drama that will tug at your heartstrings. Created by A24, Sunny is one of the two new buddy comedies who releases the steamboat, but this one has a darker, comic edge.
It follows grieving Suzie (Rashida Jones) as she attempts to mourn the loss of her husband Masa (Hidetoshi Nishijima) and son Zen (Fares Belkheir) – both of whom died in a mysterious plane crash – with the help of a household robot named Sunny (Joanna Sotomura).
The first two episodes streamed on Wednesday, July 10, with new episodes being released on the same day each week. Given the overwhelmingly positive reviews, this episode has the potential to be one of the best Apple TV Plus shows of the year.
The Serpent Queen season 2 (Starz/Hulu)
One of the best Hulu shows, The Snake Queen Season two is now available to stream on Hulu.
Based on the book Catherine de Medici: Renaissance Queen of France by Leonie Frieda, the historical drama follows the life of Queen Catherine de Medici (Samantha Morton), who was one of the longest-reigning rulers in French history after marrying into the 16th-century French court as a 14-year-old orphan. In season two, Catherine de Medici becomes Queen Regent of France while trying to avoid civil war and battle against Queen Elizabeth I of England (Minnie Driver).
The critically acclaimed drama has an impeccable 100% Rotten Tomatoes score, so if you’re looking for an excellent costume drama to watch this weekend, The Snake Queen season two is a must-see.
Now available to stream on Starz/Hulu in the US, MGM Plus in the UK, and Stan in Australia.
Sausage Party: Foodtopia (Prime Video)
Eight years after the animated film Sausage party, is this Prime Video series coming: Sausage party: Foodtopia. After rebelling against humanity in the first film, Frank (Seth Rogen) and his friends have now set up a safe haven called “Foodtopia.” But after a massive flood destroys their refuge, they are forced to work together with humans to survive.
Seth Rogen, Kristen Wiig, Edward Norton and Michael Cera are all reprising their roles for this R-rated sequel. While we wait to find out if Sausage party: Foodtopia could end up on our list of the best Prime Video series, it’s ideal if you want some sickening jokes and hilarious idiocy to add some entertainment to your weekend – just make sure you don’t watch it with children, despite the cartoonish look…
Lost in the Night (Netflix)
Disappeared in the night is a new addition to Netflix’s ever-expanding thriller library. This Italian mystery stars Annabelle Wallis and Riccardo Scamarcio as estranged couple Elena and Pietro, whose young children disappear without a trace on the outskirts of Bari, Italy. When their kidnapper demands €150,000 for their safe return, Pietro is reunited with a criminal from his past and embarks on a dangerous mission to save his children.
Based on the Argentinian-Spanish film 7th Floor (September) by Patxi Amezcua and Alejo Flah, it’s been described as “silly and improbable, but tightly directed by De Maria, whose aim is to keep us in suspense and feeling all wound up and emotional.” So it could be one to put on our list of the best Netflix movies.
Descendants: The Rise of Red (Disney Plus)
Offspring: Rise of Red is the fourth part of the Offspring franchise and a spin-off of the previous three films. After the Queen of Hearts (Rita Ora) stages a coup on Auradon, her rebellious daughter Red (Kylie Cantrall) and Cinderella’s (Brandy) perfectionist daughter Chloe (Malia Baker) join forces and travel back in time to undo the devastating event that led Red’s mother to villainy.
With a new cast at the helm, one critic said: “a pleasant surprise to complement the Offspring franchise, proving that the film can deliver the same message as the original films.” With colorful costumes and catchy music, there’s certainly a chance this will be one of the best Disney Plus movies.
