A motorcyclist was taken to the hospital in a critical condition after he had beaten a pole Sydney‘S Southwest.
The tragic accident took place on Thursday evening around 10 p.m. on the Cumberland Highway in Liverpool.
Daily Mail Australia understands that the young man might have turned his head to watch friends behind him who flashed their headlights from a car behind him.
He then hit a pole and was thrown out of the motorcycle.
The northern lanes of Cumberland Highway were closed for a few hours, while crash researchers investigated the scene.
The motorcyclist has amputated one leg and has had a composite break on the other.
The friends of the motorcyclist were depicted that they looked distraught, while emergency services attended the scene.
