NEW DELHI: The 2024 Jharkhand Legislative Assembly elections were held in two phases, with the first phase on November 13 and the second phase on November 20, 2024. The results are expected to be declared on November 23, 2024.
The Election Commission has announced that counting of votes will begin at 8 a.m. on November 23.
Important alliances in battle
Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) – The ruling party, which is part of the INDIA alliance (Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance). JMM, led by Chief Minister Hemant Soren, is trying to maintain control over the state.
National Democratic Alliance (NDA) – Led by the BJP, this alliance includes the All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU), Janata Dal (United) and other allies. The NDA aims to oust the ruling JMM and the INDIA alliance in Jharkhand.

1. Four out of seven exit polls were in favor of the NDA
2. One predicted a neck-and-neck match.

Voter turnout
