Spot the differences: Eknath Shinde, Devendra Fadnavis and 'kissa kursi ka'
NEW DELHI: With a clear mandate for the Mahayuti in Maharashtra assembly elections results, who will form the next government is certain. The central question now is: who will be the next Prime Minister?
As celebrations began in the Mahayuti camp after the historic victory, an image of two leaders Eknath Shinde and Devendra Fadnavis has grabbed attention.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy CMs Ajit Pawar, Devendra Fadnavis and other Mahayuti leaders gathered at the CM’s official residence Varsha Bungalow in Mumbai to celebrate the resounding victory.

Parliamentary election results

The Mahayuti has won/in the lead with 223 seats. However, both leaders, Shinde and Fadnavis, have sent out a message by sitting on similar seats.
The CM House video showed Shinde and Fadnavis sitting on identical armchairs, while the other two leaders Ajit Pawar and Ramdas Athawale sat on smaller chairs.

While these types of seating arrangements may or may not make any sense, the CM race game has only just begun.
Given the robust mandate of 130 seats for the BJP, Fadnavis emerges as the front-runner after serving as the party’s campaign face. On the other hand, Eknath Shinde is also likely to claim the post.
On the other hand, the Maha Vikas Aghadi, comprising Congress, Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray faction) and Sharad Pawar’s NCP faction, has failed to make any impact in the elections. It managed to lead/win only 45 seats.
