A HAIR expert has revealed how much daily hair loss is considered normal and when you should start worrying.
The dermatologist also shared the budget-friendly hack she uses to stimulate regrowth.
In her videoTikTok user Lindsey Zubritsky MD (@dermguru) showed her followers examples of normal loss.
She explained that daily hair loss is normal, but advised her audience to seek medical attention if it becomes excessive.
“Did you know that it is actually normal to lose between 100 and 200 hairs every day?” the board-certified dermatologist asked.
For reference, she showed her viewers what the shedding of different amounts usually looks like when they are clumped together.
The expert gave examples of 10 hairs, 50 hairs and 100 hairs in the shape of a ball.
She confirmed that this amount of hair loss is normal, especially at this time of year.
However, the dermatologist revealed that anything above that could be a cause for concern.
She showed more examples of larger hairballs and advised her audience to seek help if they noticed them regularly.
“If your hair looks like this about 400 hairs, or it looks like this, 750 hairs, then you have a problem,” she said.
However, she did warn her followers that the visual appearance may vary depending on hair length.
In another clampthe dermatologist revealed some steps she takes to promote regrowth.
Along with various lotions and serums, she recommended stimulating your scalp with a dermaroller.
You can buy a dermaroller for just £4.99 from Amazon.
She recommended massaging your scalp for about five minutes every day.

Tips for hair loss
According to statistics, we can lose between 50 and 100 hairs per day NHS.
Normally this is not something to worry about, but occasionally it can be a sign of a medical problem.
These include illness, stress, cancer treatment, weight loss and iron deficiency.
The NHS recommends that you make an appointment with your GP to see if you can identify the cause of it.
Experts at Association of the American Academy of Dermatology also recommend eating healthy, limiting curling irons and using them only for special occasions.
They also recommend using a gentle shampoo and using leave-in conditioners.
“Hairstylist here, keep in mind that if you keep your hair up for four days and don’t wash it, all that hair that comes out is just an accumulation of days,” one viewer said.
“Well good to know I have a problem and I’ll be bald soon,” another follower joked.
“I’ve been freaking out about this lately. I’ve trained my hair to wash it once a week. After the third day, I put it in a messy bun. When I wash it, it looks like a LOT of shedding,” said one third person.
“I teach swimming lessons three times a week, my hair is so damaged it’s just a strand of hair that falls out every day,” another TikTok user shared.
“I don’t even know how much actually goes down the drain,” one viewer wrote.
