Rahul’s Adani-centric election campaign fails to sway voters in Maharashtra | India News – Times of India
Be it Uddhav Thackeray’s reference to ‘Adani ki sultani’ or the Gandhi scion and his sister Priyanka’s claims that the BJP has overthrown power. Maha Vikas Aghadi Because the government wanted to favor the port conglomerate in power, Adani was central to the alliance. Sharad Pawar was the only one who had tried to soften the attack on Adani.
However, the MVA’s allegations do not seem to resonate with voters. While the redevelopment of Dharavi was originally conceived by the BJP-Shiv Sena government, it was the Devendra Fadnavis-led coalition that initiated the project in 2016. CM Eknath Shinde has said that the project has been awarded to Adani by the MVA government. While Congress’ Jyoti Gaikwad defeated her Sena opponent in Dharavi, the haze over the project is expected to lift as Thackeray had promised to cancel the contract.
Rahul’s attack is a crucial part of his now familiar toolkit, in which he seeks to connect companies like those of the Adanis and Ambanis with the BJP, despite the field failing to gain traction with the majority of voters for over a decade. In 2019, his attempts to portray Anil Ambani as the biggest beneficiary of the Rafale deal had also failed to impress voters. Yet he and his allies have refused to give up.
