The incorrectly arrested man, who was then 21, was abducted and attacked brutally when he was 12 and was cut off his left ear, penis, testicles and scrotum.
However, the accused was arrested by the police in 2020 after an 11-year-old neighbor claimed that he had attacked her home and raped her by penetration of the penis.
He was taken for the Ezakheni Magistrates Court in the province of Kwazulu-Natal and accused of rape when his father approached the investigating police officer.
The father presented her the medical records of his son, which shows that he died almost years ago when he was castrated and broke his penis and could not have done it.
But even though he received the archives, the case officer did not tell the public prosecutor and kept the evidence hidden and the innocent man was locked up in a notorious prison.
He was held for 54 days in horrible circumstances until his father managed to get his medical records to the public prosecutor and the rape case was withdrawn.

Five years later, the victim's case against the Minister of Police for unlawful arrest and illegal detention for the Kwazulu-Natal High Court in Pietermaritzburg.
Judge Johnson Mathenjwa read the report that revealed that he had completely removed his private parts after he had been kidnapped by a gang.
His ear was also broken and he was found bleeding by a train station.
Judge Mathenjwa said: 'It is clear from the evidence before the court that the arresting officer has not evaluated the facts at her disposal that he could not have committed the crime.
'The officer did not even inform the public prosecutor of the evidence that was presented to her by the father of the plaintiff, who demonstrated that he was unable to rape because of his physical state.
'The case officials who did not confirm this to the public prosecutor resulted in the arrest and detention and deprivation of the claimant of his freedom and were held in unbearable circumstances.
Judge Mathenjwa discovered that the man had been arrested and held illegally and that he had not committed any crime, received no apology or explanation for his detention.
He received R800,000 (£ 35,000) and his legal costs for the 'violation of his rights'.
The man's lawyer, who cannot be called to protect his identity, said Mr. Robert van Wyk: “The judgment was in the best interest of justice and our client.
“We are grateful to the court and now our client can now close this horrible chapter of his life and hopefully this prize can help get his life back on track.”
