The national security adviser of Donald Trump promised to unleash 'Holy Hell' on drug cartels on Friday, responsible for smuggling deadly fentanyl across the southern border.
Mike Waltz made his comments two days after the Trump administration labeled eight cartels as 'foreign terrorist organizations'.
It caused speculation that military action or even drone attacks could follow.
“We are going to unleash the holy hell on the cartels,” Waltz said at the conservative political action conference just outside Washington, DC
'Enough is enough. We protect our limit and the cartels are aware. '
Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseeth has already made it clear that he and Trump are open to the use of military violence in Mexico.
He said, “All options will be on the table if we are dealing with what is designated as foreign terrorist organizations that focus specifically on our border on Americans.”
CIA director John Ratcliffe reportedly told the agents that more resources will be shifted to Counternarcotics missions to disrupt the activities of the cartels.

Trump signed an executive order in which the foundation was laid for the designation of cartels as terror groups.
On Wednesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs formally designated eight groups, including the Sinaloa Cartel, Tren the Aragua and Mara Salvatrucha.
But the movement sent shock waves through Mexico.
'The Mexican people will in no way accept interventions, intrusions or other action from abroad that are harmful to the integrity, independence or sovereignty of the nation … (inclusive) violations of Mexican territory, whether by land, sea, Sea, or air, “said President Sheinbaum during a regular morning conference.
